Cashback is ineligible on any portion of the transaction paid with gift cards, store credits, 90-day StoreCash, Price Beat discounts, delivery charges, and taxes. Cashback is calculated on the total eligible amount that the customer pays on the docket after any price reductions have taken effect, and exclude delivery & GST.

Regarding the cashback, even though it tracked, it might not get approved due to the above clause.

How I read it is Cashback is ineligible on the portion, which is the $100 reduction of Price Beat
So cashback is tracked for the $1188 that I paid, minus GST

  • Ahhh. Please help me. THIS post or Delonghi Eletta Explore @$999

I highly recommend the dual boiler. As long as you use it correctly, you wont get better home coffee at this price range.

Completely different machines - if you are an enthusiast and enjoy the process of making coffee, you won't get better bang for buck than the Dual Boiler (although it has been lower, I think $1000 and under is buy territory).

The Delonghi is a fully automated machine and likely won't deliver coffee as good as on the Dual Boiler, in the hands of someone who knows how to use it. On the other hand, its fully automated, which means you don't have to do anything.

I love my dual boiler. With a good grinder I'm getting better coffee at home than at 9/10 cafes in my area. And I lucked out getting one second hand from a guy who repairs them. Although it's due a bit of a service now

        • Same here, prefer drinking coffee at home than going to a cafe! The fact that it costs about a $1 to have the best ingredients going into a latte at home is the cherry on top.

If you're asking, that means you should choose a delonghi.

The dual boiler is for people that have time and want to put in the effort, and shell out a few hundred more for a capable grinder

I would not get a fully automatic machine. We had one in our office (not this one) and it was a pain. They are complex, so when they break - and they will - they are expensive to fix.

The auto grinder on the couple of machines I have seen/used creates an awful mess inside. You will be vacuuming grinds out of the inside of that thing - and if moisture gets to the grinds - which it will from the coffee-making process - it is a $%^&* to clean.

The OP’s dual-boiler will give you better coffee, but it does need maintenance schedules observed. A more simple machine is the Sunbeam EM7000 or EM6910 (older model). It will make okay coffee and can handle some neglect.

But whichever way you go, spend money on a good grinder….. $500+

  • Gone are the days when this is on sale for under $1K?

    • Yes unfortunately :(. Was 500-600 on sale with codes and cashback pre covid. The good ol days

    • I bought mine for $999 a few years ago and have never seen it that low since.

    • It was pretty low at Xmas with the amex offer and cashback. Think I needed up paying around $800

Love my dual boiler. Note you will need to buy an external grinder. Plenty of discussions around which are best based on budget in other threads.

I have a niche zero and it's pretty damn good for home use. There's better grinders out there now, but for a while it was the best one you could get at a reasonable price point

    • I like the Eureka Mignon range, my Silenzio has been pretty good. Although if I had my time again, I would probably spend a bit more and get the version with the touchscreen.

Would highly recommend espressocoffeeshop if anyone's in the market for a Eureka

Great entry level grinder is actually the Breville smart grinder/smart grinder pro. I've cleaned it twice in the 3 years it's been running, and it's been consistent. Having any sort of collar on the group handle helps with mess. That being said, if you can afford the extra $150, there are a lot of great options above.

I'm guessing the days where you could get one of these with a smart grinder for $838.40 are gone.

    • Yep. Even in covid, on sale through the factory outlet (now closed), the discounted sale price I paid in Dec 2020 was $999 for both.

  • We bought ours back in 2016 for $799 (on sale from that deal) from HN, so it has held its price really well over the last 9 years! Glad I pounced on that deal!

Such a good machine. I recently had to changed the probes in the steam boiler after 6 years if abuse and some super hard water. It cost $40 to fix and YouTube taught me how. It's now absolutely smashing the steam out again and I think I'll get a few more years out of it yet 👍👍👍

  • I've been wanting this for years but my 13 year old Barista Express just refuses to die!

  • Omg bdb so expensive now got it like 800$
