    • Wow thanks for this. Just one question since comments seem to be closed on that deal.

How would u convert the bonus points and any points earned via purchases into either velocity points or qantas points? Or am i missing something and thats not how it works?

      Cheers

      • A bit of googling states that:

American Express Membership Rewards can transfer to Velocity Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles and more

      • As per OldBugger's comment above, can only be converted to (out of the two that you posted about) Velocity but not Qantas.

You convert it via the Membership Rewards page (there is a member section for you to spend your points - very similar to Flybuys and any other loyalty program).

  • Damn got this card in December :'(

  • I can't seem to find a link where it can tell me which places accept amex. I used to work at a news agency and we would always have to tell the customers we didn't do amex. Wanting to join for the first time but would like to know if most retailers accept them.

Also a reminder that this deal expires in 5 days https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213653
$349 annual fee but you get 80k bonus velocity points, 1 domestic return flight, 2 Virgin lounge passes (+another 2 AMEX lounge passes for those in Sydney).

  • Received my card today.. that was quick.. Auto approved for $9900

  • Thanks OP. Got one. Loving the fee free card + Apple Pay + on my way to 12,000 QFF points.

  • I already have the Amex Qantas Platinum card with the bonus offer of 80,000 points.
That means,I will be ineligible for the bonus points (15000)for this offer.
With that in mind, what are the other advantages of getting this card, from the fact that it has no annual fee. But then one can lose the chance of getting bonus points offers after cancelling he card(and waiting for 12 months).
    What am i missing?
