MOD EDIT - PAYMENTS ARE COMING THRU SEE LAST PAGE OF THREAD FOR REPORTS ON THIS based on $50AUD… Dec 17th

The title is self-explanatory, icing on the cake for those looking to buy from the good selection of vendors overseas. Not sure but you could probably double-dip with the agoda.com $50US cashback for $200US spent using paypal, I'd check with them first if your eligible for it - I'd also be quick cause it expires on the "edit" now 3rd NOV 09. The blurb for the offer -:

- PayPal will give you $20.00 AUD cash back, paid into your PayPal account, with a minimum purchase of $50.00 AUD (excluding tax and shipping) ("Offer").
- Only one cash back per transaction.
- The maximum total cash back amount allowed per PayPal account is $100.00 AUD (ie you can claim the cash back offer on five transactions only during the Promotion Period).
- The cash back will be deposited into your PayPal account no later than December 04, 2009.
- Offer applies to purchases at one of the following merchants: Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Cloggs, Shoebuy.com, Karma Loop, Bidz.com, Bling Bling Online, Sasa, Eastbay, UKSoccerShop, SimplyHike.co.uk, SimplyScuba.com, ChainReactionCycles.com, Wiggle Ltd, Digital Rev, Deal Extreme, Zynga, FocalPrice, Tiny Deal, Taobaodao.com, AllPosters, BetterWorldBooks, Overstock.com, PetCo, Hello Baby, Agoda, BangCD.com, Seiya Japan, Hobby-Wing.com (the " qualifying Merchants").
- Purchases must be made on one of the Merchant's websites and paid for using PayPal.
- The following transactions are excluded from the Offer: PayPal Mobile transactions, gift certificate payments, gift card purchases and payments made when you are not logged into your PayPal account.

Thats pretty much the important stuff, the whole thing is on the URL, if you need to,

Enjoy!

Hmmm well,
Could go either way, 90c or any "barrier of 10" is a threshold but it's drifted past that in the last 24hrs (89.6 as I type).
I would say it will either bump back over 90 or drop away depending on the DOW opening (saving any major world news tsunamis/bombings/fleets of UFOs etc Lol).

Check yourself ~ 12:30 AM if you are interested.
You can use this site to keep updated.

WARNING: From 16th Oct ANZ has initiated a totally unjustifiable 3% Bankers Greed Fee on all card purchases originating outside Oz.

Apparently this applies to purchases through PayPal.

I just read this on a Whirlpool thread and haven't had to chance to look into it fully.

More info & discussion here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1309332

Where d00dz has posted:

"ANZ will charge 3% of the value of any foreign or Australian currency
transaction charged to ANZ Visa, ANZ MasterCard or ANZ Visa PAYCARD credit
card where the merchant or financial institution accepting the card is located
outside of Australia."

http://www.anz.com/documents/au/feecharge/ANZ-Personal-Banki… – Page 14

• .

• Use Wizard Clear Advantage credit card, if you have it!

• PayPal Australia is regarded as an Australian Merchant (assuming you have an Australian registered account), so this should not apply. Even if your purchase is specified in US dollars, you still pay in AUD$, and it is converted "in house" by paypal.

• In my experience paypal's exchange rate is worse than my credit card's, even after the 1% or whatever 'bankers greed fee', so I always click conversions options and choose 'bill me in foreign currency'. For this cashback offer however, I think the terms and conditions specify that you have to spend $50 AUD, meaning you have to use their slightly worse exchange rate so the real value of the cashback might be $19.50 or thereabouts.

• i wonder if paypal will refund 5 separate transactions from the same retailer.

• :O where are u shopping at and what are u buying?

• I sure hope they do, because I did multiple transactions at focalprice

• +1

Interesting note, I bought from BangCD, used MBC's 10% refund and also paid in US dollars because paypal's exchange rate is better than theres significantly! So maybe if there are both options pay in USD instead.

• hi, HELP… I am looking at nintendo dslite at focalprice.com I am very new to this, just wondering if anyone knows if they work in Australia. I can't decide if the risk is worth it. Any comments??? If I understand the paypal offer I buy a ds for $88 (guess that is US$) and then get free shipping and $20AUS back if I pay using Paypal. IS THAT HOW IT WORKS.. ??? sounds to cheap??

• just bare in mind that they are refurbished units.

• Check with them first to see if they have them in stock. DealExtreme.com have them to, although currently out of stock. Taobaodao.com also have them, though delivery is not free. All these sites qualify for the Paypal cashback.

• It's the 31st, does that mean it's expired now? Did I just miss it?

• +1

If you read back, just a little through the posts, you will see that it finishes on November the third.
So, no Viginia, you didn't miss it.
(yes there is a Santa Claus!)

• This overall has been a superb deal.
The only factor that I am not certain about, is the right to multiple cash-backs for multiple $50+ purchases from the same supplier.
Anyone know for sure?

Paypal's published terms state:

-Only one cash back per transaction.
-The maximum total cash back amount allowed per PayPal account is $100.00 AUD (ie you can claim the cash back offer on five transactions only during the Promotion Period)

and the final "get out of jail free clause"…

-PayPal reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify part or the Offer at any time without notice, for any reason in its sole discretion.

But no mention of any limit per merchant, other than the five total.

• my advice would be to check with paypal first or make sure you are happy with the price you pay even if they don't honour the cash back.

• Anyone ordered the Dual Shock 3 from Deal Extreme? Now I just have to wait for them to get stock in :(

• More importantly, can anybody confirm receiving the $20 cashback?

• No guarantee if they will honour the cashback and you don't find out until 4th of December

• Anyone know if it expires today 3rd Nov already or can I still get in a order before the 3rd ends ? :)

• expires 23:59:59 tonight according to the terms and conditions.

• thanks mate ^

The Offer begins on October 23, 2009 at 12:00:01am AEST and ends on November 03, 2009 at 11:59:59pm AEST (the "Promotion Period").

• Hm, the page has now been updated with a new offer of $20 cashback for purchases above $100. Offer starts tomorrow.Wonder if the old one is still valid until tonight? Was going to put in an order but now not sure if I should since they've pulled down the page.

• didn't realise that.perhaps you would like to give paypal a call?

• Hmm, when I reload the site it still says the same thing for me, is it the same link? there is another link going around that has 20% cashback on anything that you pay with paypal too

• the link linked to an offer that starts tomorrow just now. it is now linking back to the original offer(perhaps that was a mistake?).i think the offer that starts tomorrow requires us to spend a minimum of AUD100 for AUD20 cashback.there were a couple of new stores (i saw book depository).

• +2

Ah, guess i'll check it out tomorrow. Really hoping that all these paypal offers are genuine, because they are really great if they are!

edit: heres the other link, anyon wanna take a stab at whether its actually valid? :P

https://www.paypal-offers.com.au/cashback20-100/

• I didn't have any Oz dollars in my paypal account, so I paid using echeque (amount will be debited from my bank account), but it will take 3-5 working days and will go beyond 3rd Nov.
Will I still get cash back from Paypal ?

• wow thanks for the link frogduck. Does it work?

• I'm not too sure, its the same situation, it doesn't give you any notification when u go to paypal. I'm going to buy stuff anyway and hope its legit :)

• For those who are spending money expecting 20% cashback make sure you have read the T&C's

This promotion is valid only for intended recipients. Customers who did not receive the email for this promotion are not eligible for cashback.

• All you have to do is enter your email to be eligible.

• -1

We are expecting 40% cashback not 20%

• Rubbish! I clicked the advert link from Cricinfo.com - I received no email.

• the following link might help some, it is the same link being passed around by email already
http://www.paypal-offers.com.au/xmas/

• When you checkout and pay with paypal do you need to ask paypal to do the AUD conversion ? Or does it still work if I let paypal charge me in USD and let my Wizard mastercard do the currency conversion ?

• Does anyone have an image of the original link for this deal? I've been in touch with Paypal regarding non payment of the $20 and now want to send a copy of the image of the deal. When I click the link now, it takes me to the page that is spouting the current spend $100 for $20 back. Thanks

• I thought it will only be paid out on 4/12?

• Thanks, you're right. I just re-read the original post for the deal. I thought it was November - sorry for jumping the gun :)

• But still.. Does anyone have the screenshot?

• so when does this cashback offer expire?
Embedded USB Flash Disk, IDE SSD, Solid State Disks

• Hello magic ram 1 ,

welcome to OzBargain. If you check the listing above, just underneath it, in orange boldface, you will find the expiry date for this offer.

Kind regards

woohooo just received two of my orders woohooo now fingers crossed paypal come thru with the cashback.

• Anyone seen the PayPal cashback in their accounts yet?

• still waiting for this and the clive peeters ipod cashback

• Still waiting. Hopefully not too much longer & it actually does come through.

• Still waiting for the cashback.

• I'm still patiently waiting. I believe we should start seeing at the beginning of December. If Paypal doesn't honor it I will never deal with them again.

• Still waiting :(

• nope not yet, but I checked the T&C and it said by the 4th December…..

• Waiting, two days to go.

• One day to go.. anyone got the promo screenshot?

• not good…just got off the phone with Paypal and they have no re-collection of the offer (go figure) and suggest to contact the merchant as cashbacks are their responsibility. I pointed out on the T&C it stated that "Paypal will give you…blah, blah".
I doubt whether we are going to see a cracker.

• "PayPal reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify part or the Offer at any time without notice, for any reason in its sole discretion. The Offer cannot be resold or transferred. No cash alternatives or prizes will be substituted."

T&C gives them a way out, they would lose a few customers if they chose to retract the deal.

Tried looking for a cached version of the offer….no luck, anyone else have a copy of it?

Soon see!

• I have an email from paypal around the time of the promo verifying that the offer was legit

This was the email

• Hopefully this will go through fine, or that you can still reach Yhanie :)

• If paypal dont go ahead with the cashbacks i think we should raise the issue with them and if they still dont do ne thing abt it talk to fair trading

• part of the problem is the offer has changed from the original link…we need a screen dump of the $20 / $50 cashback.

• I expect paypal to leave it to the very last second, it is in their interest to do so. A lot of unhappy customers if not honored.

• Of course pay pal have no idea on this offer, most of them have no idea on any of the offers, the call centres appear to be overseas and for some reason do not know alot about all of these offers.

Thruoughout this thread people have confirmed this is a legitmate offer, so instead of scaremongering people into believing this cashback is not going to happen, maybe wait till after the 4th December.

• Was just on here to see what the date we were supposed to receive the cash back by was. Nothing yet for me either.

• Already 4/Dec, nothing happened to my account, paid AU$55+ in DX.
Any one got your rebate from paypal?

• Not yet…..ever optimistic though. Still the rest of the day to go, maybe they use US time!

• ditto, still havent recieved anything yet, and ive made a few orders too.

Got first of my Cashbacks. Only $20 when I Was expecting $40.hmmm need to follow that up with Paypal soon.

• Thanks for the update how did you find out - log on or get an email and which vendor was it from

• It's an email from Paypal. Similar to any other Paypal transaction really.

• What date did you get the cashback in your account? Cheers.

• I also only got one cashback… im expecting 3.
Will chase it up with paypal if they aren't there by tomorrow

Just got an email confirming PayPal Aus has just sent $20; confirmed in my Paypal acct… now i just gotta wait for the Clive Peeters one

• hmmmmmmmmm nothing yet either, so I guess its probably based on US Time.

• Woohoo, I just received three of my four transactions, which I would say is for my dx orders.

• +1

Good to know the DX ones are coming through.

• My $20 cashback has gone into my Paypal acct. Thanks again to the OP for this fab deal.

• Yeah just received one of my two $20 cashbacks (from my two orders with DX). Still waiting on one more $20 cashback and the Clive Peeters one for the iPod Nano.

• Just received 3 of 5. Ditto "Thanks again to the OP for this fab deal."

• Just got an email from Paypal confirming my cashback :) :) :)
I can see it in my account as well.

Thanks again to the OP :)

(I also found out about FocalPrice which I hadn't heard of before, so I guess the promotion was doing what it was supposed to :) )

Now to wait a few weeks for the JBHiFi 10% cashback :)

• Got my cashback too from sasa and DX all in one transaction $60. awesome deal paypal!

• Just got 4 of my 5 supposed $20 cash backs. I made 5 separate purchases from DX 4 of those were over $50US and 1 was just under $50US but with paypals conversion to AU$ it came to over $50AU. A little concerned that they changed their minds and made it $20 cash back for orders over $50US not $50AU.

• It was for $50 AU….excluding shipping. Mine was 3of 5 cashbacked, wondering if the other 2 are withheld or being processed separately!

• My DX order are more than $50AU but less than $50US, and I have not received the cash back.

• There may be some method to their madness….see how it pans out today.

• Has any one got multiple cashback's, for all their items at once. Mine were from 3 different suppliers (2 orders + 1 order + 2 orders).
Cashback came for 3, should have been 5. The invoice from paypal does not indicate which orders or suppliers.
No panic, thought they would have all came through together.

• I made 3 orders from the same supplier (sassa.com) and I got all 3 at once.

• Just receive my cashback from focalprice ^^
But my order of soundmagic pl-50 from them hasn't showed up yet. Quite funny

• got mine from deals. they were put together in one.

• It appears from the posts so far that the cashbacks are flowing through…has anyone received more than one payment (whether or not the actual payment contains cashback from multiple purchases)?

• Mine came as one lump sum.

• Thanks op, got my cashbacks and feeling good about my purchases. Great deal, you deserve an ozbargain crown.

• Yeah 2 separate transactions (one order consisting of multiple products totalling ~$55AUD and one order of one product costing ~$60AUD) from DX and only one cashback has arrived so far.

• It was this cashback deal that put me on to a couple of the HK based merchants…not all fun dealing with FocalPrice….hope the other cashback's roll in today.

• Still haven't received my cashback from DX… waiting waiting waiting

• me neither. Spent AU$55 in DX and just checked my account, $0 balance.
