In other words, you pay $99 for the phone plus free $30 sim card credit.

    • +1

No you get $10 Sim card credit and a $30 Telstra credit voucher

    • +1

To get it will cost the regular $99 :-(

    • +2

Yes, its sad when posters repeat the marketing spin. Makes us sound gullible.
The price is still $99. Bonus is some real credit, as used to be standard not long ago.

Nice specs though for the price. 512MB is OK.

kwaker, the "$10 SIM card" is worthless. Well, maybe $1 each on ebay. Its good for 1 or 2 calls. The $30 is real money, and might give 100 calls and 1 GB of data.

      • Yes I know that's why I pointed out its not "Sim card credit"

I use the $1 Sim cards for free foxtel.

At the $69 this would be a hot deal :-)

  • Has Jelly Bean while the G300/300+ has GB as standard with a free ICS upgrade.

I have this phone and love it. The touchpad is great and the voice to text is fantastic. Runs games smoothly

what about th elack of RAM… I just cant see 512 being enough?

      • Enough for what? I already said what I feel. If you want me to test something I can.

      • +1

Given the dual core speed, 512MB is enough for what it is.

Brace yourself guys. Probably in two years or so, HW will probably up there with Samsung and Apple.

    • +1

Bracing ourselves for when they become $99 :-)

    • Doubt so. US wouldn't allow it. They still "banned" that phone in US from what I read from news. So they losing out big time. Yet… world no3 after apple.

    • They will be if HW is not sued by Apple. Like all other Chinese branded phones, they can't become main stream once they are out of China due to Patent laws (and that's the only reason their prices become very compatitive because they pay NIL for any patents). At the moment, Apple is not interested in suing them because they are not a serious competitor in high end market.

Big W has it for $99 with bonus $20 Google play card, it may be a better deal for some.

    • Not really. You can use Telstra credit as Google Play money.

      • How to do this?
(I have a $30 recharge from last Y300 deal but use Aldi SIM)

        Extracted from http://exchange.telstra.com.au/2012/12/04/telstra-introduces…

Purchasing apps using your Telstra bill is easy….
        Simply:
        1. Choose the app, book, movie or game you’d like to purchase.
        2. Click ‘Accept and Buy’.
        3. Select ‘Bill my Telstra account’.
        4. Click ‘Accept and Buy’.

What if you don't have a Telstra account and if you do, how long can the credit last?

        • do you need to do it from within you android phone with the play market, and only when connected to mobile internet?

        • Sorry I haven't done myself, as matter of face I don't use Telstra.

        • need to do it from the phone with the sim activiated/inserted but can do it over wifi

  • Fact it is really $99 doesnt sound like much of a deal imho
