      The forbidden apple

      • +4

As always. I don't even have to read T&C to know this.

Can I purchase a cart worth $300 and use the coupon code then return $270 in value?

    • +3

Yes. You will just be refunded $270 back to your original payment method.

If you return a part of the sale worth X. Then your refund amount = 0.9X.

    • Pixel 8a and S24 Comparison

The S24 in Australia is the international version, so it has the Exynos chip, but it still seems to be better than the Google Tensor chip in the Pixel.

The S24 appears to be better across the board, but whether it's worth $100 more is up to y'all.

      • +2

Think I'll pull thr trigger and upgrade my Note 20 to the S24

        • +2

Use S24 for work. Goes well lasts all day. No lag. Worth it for $700

        • So me your note 20

  • +4

Seems like these PERKS $30 spend 300 usually come up and ends just before the 10% off or 20x points going live. I hold my impulse buy for next week as ran out of GC. :)

Perks discount no more working with price matched products :(

    • I think it is still work due to last week I ask store staff for price matching. then pay it by perk code and gift card in store. it's.work for me. no idea how about online price match.

      • That’s what I did too
Ask in store to price match then use perks

Maybe it depends on the store too?
I went to DFO Homebush and they would not refund me the different for price guarantee
2 other JB did that no problem

      • Thanks for the tip. Price matched MobileCiti's FRENZY sale.

Staff had to get manager approval for the price matching part as it's a discount code (claims it's usually excluded from price match policy).

Made no mention or fuss whatsoever when it came to partial payment with the perks code.

        Entire process was done in-store.

  • Is it time to upgrade my S20FE?

  • +4

i was able to get the s24 256 gig from Samsung direct $498.

reduced price of like $750 plus $150 bonus for trade in. $1 trade in value for a s10e with smashed screen. Down to $598 and then $100 Amex cashback.

Sadly not even for me, but cracker deal and better than this even without Amex cashback

    • Make sure you wrap it in bubble wrap. One scratch and your warranty is gone.

    • Damn - I assume this was a while ago?

I got a similar deal on an S23 last year and have been waiting for such a deal on the S24 to use my old smashed S10e on.

      • still there before i posted last night. edit: darn, gone now!!

$1 was for a cracked screen s10e btw which is all you need to be eligible for the 150 bonus

not sure about the Amex cashback though. there was also a commbank cashback deal

Slightly off topic- has anyone stopped receiving perk voucher/e-mails? Last one I received was May'24 and nothing since…

    • No, I have been receiving as usual

    • +2

Unsubscribe from perks and resubscribe, should fix it.

      • Thanks- will do that!

    • Make a dummy email and sign up on that.

    • Yes! I followed this and I got this $30 off $300 code.

Also make sure your phone number is verified on your account.

    • Having the same issue, unsubscribed and resubscribed just then, hopefully it works - nothing so far

      • JB won't resend this perks deal, but you should get the next one.

    • Yes missed my birthday voucher because of this 😒

  • Patiently waiting for s25 deals, can't tradein my phone as it has a small crack and they offer very less.

    • You've missed them, at least until EOFY, black friday or one of the prime days! The launch deals on S25 were good this year, especially if you had edu store access and something to trade, even with a cracked screen.

  • Any mid range phones that are worth buying?

    • What is mid-range here?

      • For me its $300-600

      • +1

        Nothing?

        • No nothing phone is more expensive than a typical mid range phone

          • @DrScavenger: Nothing 3(a) literally just got released.
            Decent phone for $599.

    • +2

Pixel 8a $617 as mentioned above

    • G75 is worthwhile. It ticks most boxes other than oled screen.

  • Is S25 a clear upgrade compared to this ? Got a JB Hi-Fi gift card work the amount of S25 ($1387) after cancelling my order which I placed during pre-order offer. Just wondering whether this is worth going for

    • +3

The S25 is barely an upgrade at all, the S24 is much better value.

      • Agree that S24 is better value, but S25 is a noticeable chipset upgrade as it's Exynos 2400 to Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Speed aside, you have the better modem and driver support.

        Definitely not worth double though.

        • Which is why the launch sales on the S25 were great value, as they were essentially the same price as this but with buds etc thrown in. I think Samsung in general are happy to sell their S23/24/25 for around $700 on sale. Just try and get the highest number you can when you buy

        • Extra 4gb ram.

Discounts on Games Consoles are so forbidden that they had to list it twice

Ordered as I'm travelling overseas in 3 weeks and priced in a TRS. "Delivered before April 24th" hoping it gets here much sooner than that.

    • Wouldnt they check it when u come back? How can u make sure u dont need to return that TRS amount? Dont declare ? Cause i bought a $2k laptop and i have a feeling they will somehow track it if i ask for TRS.

      • +1

It's well under the duty free limit of $900 which can be pooled with other family members.

        https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/duty-f…

        • I travel alone, otherwise i would just give it to my partner and dont declare. Well, hope they dont bother check for a few hundreds.

        • Thanks for this. My phone arrived in time and it's a family trip so can pool the allowance.

      • +1

Don't declare. It's very unlikely they will care to check for a laptop. If you are taking out 50k watches then they may track you.

      • +1

I went overseas 10 years ago with a new Surface Pro, got TRS.
When I came back I did the right thing and declared it - customs guy just waved me through.
Haven't tried it again since though.

      • +1

Back in 2009 I claimed the TRS on an engagement ring. We were slightly anxious arriving back in Melbourne from NZ! At least my future wife knew who she was marrying!

    • Peter Dutton is very interested in closing this loophole. He gave an interview for Mr. Andrew Bolt.
Mr. Andrew Bolt is a very noble and straightforward and balanced journalist.

  • New ipads announced today also.

  • I tried to get the S24 last week. Was told it's at the end of the line and only two stores rural had a handful available. Will hold on to my broken Samsung S9 for a little while longer I guess.

Edit: Silly me didn't think I could just get it online. Will try tomorrow night!
Edit: Can I still get the trade in bonus from the Samsung site? Doesn't seem to work.

  • Delivery not till end April?

  • Anyone know why the samsung site says this is $500 off but when you proceed to checkout it's $1249? Very misleading.

  • Do they price match Samsung education store?

    • +1

      No,

  • Try getting s25 if you can, larger ram, if you want on device ai processing. It will be much faster. 8gb is soo 2024

  • +1

Showing as $1237 for me on JB site?

    • +1

Yeah S24 and S24 Ultra have gone back up. S24 FE is 787

  • Was this offer only valid until 5th March? When do we think we shall have the same offer of 749 on S24?

    • Yeah, WOW the deal is over… that's disappointing.

  • as mentioned above is Pixel 9 pro XL for $1417 a reasonable price? Wait until pixel 9a comes out and see if price drops on the XL?

    • For the pixel 9 pro xl, thats a good price. It was 1447 late last year so using perks its beats that price.
Bear in mind the google tensor processor is about half the benchmark power of the snapdragon elite processor. You might not notice it.

  • Stick vacuum recommendations under $500?
Considering Dyson V8 Origin, Samsun Jet 75E, Shark IZ102 and LG A9.

  • Expires on monday but can only buy on Tue when i know the dimension of a fridge. Any workaround?

  • Haven't used Perks coupon before. If I want to buy an item on a price beat/match, can I still use this coupon offer as long as the final price is over $300? I want to use a split payment as well (I have $100 Home gift card that I bought ages ago), so not sure if all this work, i.e. whether I need to go to a store, or convert the Home gc into a JB Hi-Fi gc and buy online.

    • +1

Nah. You can't apply coupon to a price match :(

      • So it's one or the other eh? Would take the price match then as that's the higher discount. Ta

        • Yep! Which is sad cause I thought I could get an extra $30 bucks off 😭

  • For those still looking, Telstra store still have the S24 for $749
