The "Customer Service" URL registered with paypal (http://australiandiscoverygroup.com.au/) doesn't load. I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt here, but I'll be requesting a paypal chargeback if I don't hear something in the next couple of days…

    • I think PayPal have up to 45 days from day of purchase to launch a dispute.

  • thanks zingy, received mine today. Its definitely ALOT brighter than a similar cree q5 i bought off banggood on ebay. The diameter of the beam is much wider aswell, covers a larger area:)

    edit: also just noticed, if you press the switch softly it changes into different modes :O ..strobe, low and high.

      Hi Hockey in about one week no less, i will send out members pack via email, everything will be explained on the emails attached pdf. In short the VIP status was reserved for member's needing to spend a minimum of $100 but we issued one to every Ozbargain member.   • Received my torch today but it's dead on arrival, which is bad because I had to wait for it for so long. My other torches from Banggood are rock solid.

          No that's fine GreenRomeo it is just standard practice as we contact the factory and send it back to them. I will make sure the day it comes back a new one is re issued once the defect is checked. Appreciate your patience and am sorry you were one of the unlucky ones, although I actually told another member on here tonight to buy a lotto ticket because your officially in a .5% category, so maybe it is worth having a punt based on that. But regardless I will make sure the turnaround is quick. Cheers.

  • While I am still patiently waiting for my torch (and hope it will work right out of the box once it makes it across the Nullarbor) I just had another quick look around ZINGY's website.

    A couple of things would make that site more appealing to me (apart from the colour scheme which comes down to a matter of taste): a search function to quickly find products I need and overview pages that show the price at the stage when you see multiple related products.

    For now no item jumped out and shouted "buy me". Has anyone purchased other items yet? What do you recommend? Any rare and exciting product, any great value deal?

    -Keep the torch, just refund the money.

      Hi mt2000 I have checked and your torch was sent almost 9 days ago. So I would presume it will be on your doorstep Monday. It takes about 3 business days from Brisbane into NSW but you are SA so I would imagine its any day now cheers.

          no we didnt do track and trace on these because of the cost, but we have found some of the orders from Brisbane are shipped by Aust Post to a another Aust Post dispatch centre and then shipped from their to the destination, this adds a day or 2 onto the delivery. One member has told us this is because Aust post sometimes outsource the deliveries to other carriers if its cheaper, if its rural or semi rural or not on a standard route etc. But come Monday if its not there we will just do plan B, I will make sure you get your torch asap. cheers

        • sometimes stuff from QLD has taken ages to get to me in SA as well. it goes on some really stupid path to get here sometimes so 5 to 7 "business days" seems about normal.

    I just discovered these torches do high, low and strobe.

    After turning it on, gently tap the power button and it will change modes. Bonus!

      rep says above that he will send you out a post bag to send yours back and on confirmation you didnt do something stupid like use flat battery or put it in backwards will overnight you a new one….. all at his own cost..

    Hi Guys
    I have got all 5 of those requests, and am in the process of organizing delivery bags for tomorrows run. Just quickly please make sure that an AA battery is inserted , with the positive terminal first. You unsrew the cap at the rear of the battery just behind the orange starter button to replace the battery. The majority of member's have done this on autopilot, but we have received a handful of torches that had AAA batteries installed, 4 of them had no batteries installed, as the mebers were under the impression they didnt need batteries or we had already installed the batteries, and 2 had the battery in the wrong way. Just to recap these torches do not come with fitted batteries, you will need to install the AA battery yourself. Now we are getting a handle on inquiries and orders please be rest assured if you have received a faulty torch ( 7 to date ) then you will get a replacement without a doubt. Its just standard procedure to check the default first, especially now as we have had to send back 9 working torches with battery instructions.If in doubt just send me a private message to confirm you are using the right battery and putting it in right Cheers

      please be rest assured if you have received a faulty torch ( 7 to date ) then you will get a replacement without a doubt. Its just standard procedure to check the default first, especially now as we have had to send back 9 working torches

      Just checking are you asking us to send the torch back with a battery in it? Or how do you know that people were making these stupid mistakes?

      Obviously if you test and it's working then you know they did something wrong but you know the specifics.

      It also seems from reading these comments that you may be going over the .5% in faulty torches unfortunately

      • Hi NotBritishorUK I am not asking that the torch be sent back with a battery in it, We have received a handful of torches that had the wrong battery installed, the battery installed incorrectly, no batteries installed at all and a lens cap unscrewed. I am just asking that a few basics are followed, if it then is a faulty torch then contact us via [email protected] with the subject FAULT. Then we will start the process of retrieving and issuing if need be a working torch. I didnt say these were stupid mistakes, I just politely asked that these few steps be followed and if it still is not working then we will take it from there. If you go back through these posts you will see 7 faulty torches, and Im sure they are faulty, but there might be one or 2 that were just simple mistakes like the other orders we have received then sent back again. I suppose everything is always relative, 7, remembering alot more than 7 were sold. I would love the others to say "got it, great" but lets just get a process in place for late arrivals and faults so that everyone can have the product they paid for. Also there is no need for member's to get themselves into arguments over a torch. I understand 2300 people have 2300 opinions, but arguments on forums never get resolved and youve probably got killer ideas about products and delivery techniques that that we and others would rather hear. I suppose focus on finding other great deals out there and we will focus on emails, and postage packs. Cheers

        • Thanks for your reply. The bit I was not getting is that you say some had no batteries, surely they just screwed the cap back? You may have a way of seeing they hadn't opened them. No need to reply, you are very busy obviously!

          I was the unfortunate who got 2 faulty ones so wondered if you wanted me to leave the batteries in them when I saw your comments

          It was I who called them stupid mistakes, I know you were polite about it.

          Thats fine, I understand now, we knew they had not put any batteries in due to our correspondence with them, in that in both cases 2 member's mistakenly thought the torch came fitted with batteries. They clicked the button, nothing happened, they could not figure out how to unscrew the end cap, so they just presumed the batteries were already fitted and sealed in some way. Honest mistakes, worth a chuckle but honest. Hope this puts us on the same page. Cheers

        This one doesn't work with AA but WORK with 1450 (3.6 - 3.7V)
        I aslo did test with 2xAA = 3V connected by cable outside the case ==> Result work fine.

        ZINNGY should mention that torch doesn't work with AA batteries.

        • This torch works fine for me with an eneloop AA battery. Would probably be brighter with a 1450 but it's fine for my use.

      the best way for you to find out whats happening with your torch is to probably call this phone number 1300655506 they will be more than happy to help you out. i think its even a free call number from landline fones……

        Thanks nosdan, at the moment we have had to silence the 1300 number ending in 06 as we dont have the manpower to answer the phone as you can imagine it was ringing non stop. The quickest way is just to send an email TRACK ORDER, it will get picked up and actioned. Cheers again for the patience.

    If I do get a torch I will send money via paypal as I am willing to accept the unexpected delays faced by the seller as posted over these 4 pages, unfortunately the 2 days has turned into 6 days and considering it was in the postal system as stated I am not certain what to think. I am not sure what " your product is in the postal system means", however I would assume it means it has been posted. If this was just an automated response then I can accept that and I am just letting Zingy know. Rest assured if the item arrives within the next few days I will post a message here and send Zingy their money.

    We ordered 4 torches (the fam) just a bit after the deal was posted and waited patiently but yet to receive any of them. We are also in Brissy so clearly none of them have been posted yet given that it's been over 3 weeks now. I ordered some batteries from Hong Kong 10 days later on the 16th and I have received them already. Sent a couple of emails last week but no reply to them either :(
