beat me to posting by a few seconds! Sounds like a decent offer :)

    • me too - I printed it this second & then was going to post this!!

      • -2

A great Australian institution…erm American, well, never mind….

Great marketing dept. When a champagne house decorated their bottles with Union Jacks during the Olympics and Royal Wedding, the British public were in uproar. The campaign backfired.

Seems like Americans are honorary Aussies when its convenient.

Sorry for p!$$ing on the parade!

  • Time for a Maccas run on Australia day!

  • yes, its a free cheeseburger!

    • +19

Because Maccas doesn't model their promotions and advertising campaigns to suit your personal preferences.

In other words, deal with it and enjoy your free burger.

    • +5

I don't see what's so hard about creating a fake facebook account (2 minutes effort), and using that whenever you see a deal come along that "needs" it. No one gets your personal details, and you get more deals.

      • -2

Don't you need a mobile to make a facebook?

        • nope, just go to the site www.facebook.com and fill out the details under "sign up" on the front page.

  • +2

    then you can unlike it

  • +4

Aus Day = Load all 8 smartphones/people into car. Do Hungry Jacks Check-in for free shiz. Get free cheeseburgerzz. Profit.

    • +6

u mean get fat and die from heart disease?
although worth it if it's free!

  • +3

There's nothing in the small print saying we have to eat the cheese"burger".

It's a plus from me then.

  • +3

Who wants a free Maccas Cheeseburger on Australia Day?

perfect example for the use of rhetoric.

  • Voucher doesn't print properly

    • So you don't eat vegetables, bread or meat? Impressive. :D

      • or fruit or dairy products

        • or milk

        • +4

Machej, Cardz, Anon_ - do any of the foods you mentioned actually appear in a McDonalds cheeseburger in a relatively normal/minimally unprocessed form?

        • -1

Vegetable yes. Hard to have unprocessed bread, cheese.
Gotta admit the meat, fruit is kinda processed. Cant believe you wasted all your negs on us

        • +1

          I didn't neg you

        • +1

Vegetables in a maccas cheeseburger - LOL!

Pickles are a fruit FYI but even if it was a vege, you still don't have much of an argument since they are preserved in vinegar and last a long time.

        • +2

I didn't say pickles is a veg.. think hard what else is in a cheeseburger.

        • +3

I find it helps it go down if I try not to think what might be in the burger.

        • Onions is a veg:)

        • The beef is fine.

        • +1

Seriously if you are going to neg me for a comment as least provide some backup on why the beef isnt fine:
          http://www.snopes.com/business/market/allbeef.asp

"McDonald's hamburger patties in the U.S. are made with 100% USDA-inspected beef. They are cooked and prepared with salt, pepper and nothing else; no preservatives & no fillers."

"All of the chain's hamburgers are made from "100% beef patties"; furthermore, they define "beef patty" as being "100% pure USDA inspected beef; no additives, no fillers, no extenders."

      • +2

If you think a McDonalds cheeseburger should be considered 'real' food you're in for an unpleasant surprise when you get older.

This food should be considered pure junk. Eat it once a week at the absolute most, no more! We aren't meant to eat this crap.. incl. Dominos.

        • dominoes would probably be far worse. more salt and preserved/manufactured meat.

    • Don't be so Un-Strayan

  • Thank you

  • +2

So, i forgot to print out the voucher
and it just left the voucher page, nowhere to get it back to print.

    :(

  • Welp, I now know what I'm going to be eating all day for Australia Day.

  • I sustain myself on my own retroactive self entitlement, none for me thanks

  • Did OP post as Rep by accident?

    • maybe op works there so has to tick rep box.

    • No.

    • +3

Hi Hugh, no I work at a McDonalds store so all is good.

  • -1

Get in before this is taken down.

    • +1

Macca's deals are no longer banned as of a few months ago.

      • Sweet :)

  • -8

Gna giv dis to mah gurlfrnd and she gna luv me long tym.

  • +2

Can exchange with any veggie burger?

    • Nope thats un-australian

      • -2

dont be rude. not everyone eats meat cardz, have some respect

        • +10

          It's called a joke.

        • I am not being rude. Why dont you respec your country. This is an Australian day promotion - of course they are going to target the average Australians with this promotion. They will not have a promotion for Halal food or Veg as that kinda defeats the purpose of the "average" aussie.

        • +4

          No Not Halal,

I hope Macas doesn't go the Meca way.

        • +6

With that logic I guess Maccas should stop using pictures of big, meaty cheeseburgers because it's offensive to vegetarians?

I can understand why you might find it offensive, but seriously guys, have a sense of humour.

(Also, do they even offer vegie burgers? Not where I am.)

        • +1

they don't have a vegie burger. You could probably get a cheeseburger without the meat.

        • nwm

        • Now you're starting to sound racist,Cardz. An average aussie in 2013, wouldn't be the same as the average aussie from when you were born, grandpa.

        • +7

          not everyone eats meat cardz

          Eww, what are meat cardz?

        • -2

          yer whatever grandma

    • i guess you will just have to ask. i would like to try that also

  • do they have unique codes? i cant access it at the moment.

  • Thank you, just printed out mine, going to be doing a lot more.

  • Isn't Macca's deal banned on this site? Their burgers are terrible anyways, Hungry Jack's FTW.

  • What's the limit for the Facebook vouchers? This might get ozbargained in 2hours!!!

  • id rather starve to death then beg and humiliate myself going on knees for maca$$ recycled cancer rubbish.

    • +8

      a BIT over the top…

  • +1

Hm…. just wondering - how many maccas can one visit in a day :)

    • Thats not fair.. I already though of that but here in WA there is only about 6 in drive-able distance.
Also appears we have a Macca's rep watching us so we better keep our "professional" secrets quiet.

    • +2

Depends how long it takes you to get heart disease

    • +1

      just for a cheeseburger? cmon…

    • Up until the travelling costs surpass' the $2 cost of Double Cheeseburgers, for optimal use of money.

  • +2

Hungry jacks and mc Donald's both are junk food regardless, it's free, what's there to complain! Hard to get free food now days!

  • +1

Sweet, $10 worth of stuff on ebay and now a free cheese burger. Duck yeah, being a professional is fun.

  • -2

Meh only a cheeseburger? A big mac or a quarter pounder would have been better, but I guess I shouldn't complain about free….

    • +2

      yupe, you shouldn't

  • +1
      • +1

They don't mention the McNuggets are safe in that article. Only burgers/patties.

"McDonald’s will be stopping the use of ‘pink slime’ in its burgers"
"I double-checked with McDonald’s Australia, and a spokesperson told me: 'We’ve never had that in our patties'."

        • The article also mentions that it's banned in Australia, so I'm pretty sure you're safe.

  • +3

    i can has cheezburger?

  • +5

I really hope people here go to local council Australia day celebrations instead of Mc Donalds for free food, something about buying home made food from old ladies and seeing people become Australian Citizens thats more touching then this horrid burger.

    • But is it for free? Don't think many be temped if ts not s bargain or free.

  • +4

Thank You for voting guys, it is my first post to get over 100 votes :)

Tip, there will be more promotions coming soon. Keep an eye out for the McDonalds Australia facebook page ;)

    • -1

    • +9

Almost everyone on OzB has a $9 one :P

    • +2

"who has a bloody printer anymore ?"

      Me.

  • There is a barcode on it that looks unique, but I haven't ever seen barcode readers at Maccas…

  • I'm lovin it

  • C'mon people - where's the direct link to the voucher ?

  • Macca's is so STRAYALIAN.
