Made what looks like a small profit upgrading from a S24U. Can't tell how much I'll exactly get back after cancellation of accessories.

    All the steps above.
    Cancelled accessories except cheapest item.
Selling S24U in mint conditiion to mobile monster for $950 as opposed to samsungs $720.
Pay for non return fee of $30

  • Just wanted to check if i cancel Asurian tradein today even before the new phone S25 ultra is being shipped. what will happen. the amount will stay as security + 60$ or tradein boost will go too ?

    • Why don't you just leave it?

  • This was my order from yesterday from EPP:

    Samsung S25 Ultra 512GB - RRP $2,349 (invoice: $976.79)
    Samsung Buds 3 Pro - RRP $399 (invoice: $227.43)

    ($469.80) 20% disc EPP —- $1,879.20
    ($100) E-voucher —- $20 cost
    ($400) Trade-in bonus
    ($150) Bonus Trade-in
    ($200) GALAXY2025 code
($1) - Trade -in device (will not return)
    ($222.98) - 5% app purchase?

    Total Savings ($1,543.78)

Final value paid to Samsung: $1,204.22

Total cost altogether: $1,235.22 ($1,204.22 + $1 trade in value + $30 Asurion penalty for not returning)

Can someone help me working out how to calculate the 5% app discount? Although I made the order from my tablet. I'm just super curious to know the calculation. LOL

And for some reason, in my tax invoice, the 5% is mentioned twice:

Your $100 Galaxy eVoucher+ has been
    applied! Promotion applied to your
    order
    Voucher applied! $200 eVoucher
    discount. Promotion applied to your
    order
    $150 Trade-In bonus applied. Ends
    14.02.25. Promotion applied to your
    order
    Voucher applied! $400 Trade-In bonus.
    Promotion applied to your order
Welcome to Samsung! Here's 5% off
    your first purchase. Promotion applied
    to your order
Welcome to Samsung! Here's 5% off
    your first purchase. Promotion applied
    to your order

    • It's 5% off each item after all the trade in and vouchers are taken into account.

Don't do -$200 for GALAXY2025 on the phone, and only do it for the Earbuds

      • What do you mean by that? About to place my order so just want to make sure I don't incorrectly allocate GALAXY2025. Are there exact steps of which accessory or phone to add first or when to apply each code? Thank you.

        • Nah it's just how the site does calculations. For some reason when you use the GALAXY2025 code, from memory it also "seemingly deducts an amount" off the phone visually when the code is only meant to work for accessories.

You can apply the coupons/vouchers/codes in any order you want - make sure they're all still there when you check out

          • @Garbotoxin: Thank you for confirming. Will add in the screen protector film, phone and the buds plus all the codes. Definitely will double check all my codes are still there when I pay. Ta

        Thank you so much!!

I managed to get two S25 Ultras in one order with bonus stacking and only one set of discount codes. I got one titanium black 512gb and one jetblack 512gb for a total $2,247.51 charge on my card (plus $2x60 trade-in fee later as I won't be trading in any phones).

By adding a second phone to my cart on the EDU store with a trade-in selected, the GALAXY2025 was voucher doubled in cart for some reason for a $400 discount. and the $400 trade-in bonus code I got from the live chat was doubled again too for an $800 discount.
Order has gone through and seems to be fine. I plan on selling the second phone to offset the costs of the first phone even more. Wondering if anyone else has done this as it feels a little bit sketchy, but seems to be all good!

    • +3

Order confirmation email received just now.
For those wondering, this is the cost breakdown for my order for the two phones and accessories with one set of discount codes as it shows in the confirmation email. I purchased using the Samsung Shop app signed in on my student email and through the EDU portal. Note, you have to select different colours for the two models for this to work I believe, as the Trade-In code didn't apply twice when I added two of the same colour to my cart.

      Galaxy S25 Ultra Anti-reflecting Film
      Transparent
      Quantity: 1
      $18.52

      And the final receipt:

      • What is the storage you picked? Should be around $1070 ea with accessories for 256gb

      • +1

Man, thank you for the tip!

        • No worries! I'm surprised nobody else has tried this yet. Definitely a nice way to get a second phone at great value.

      • S21 should be $145 trade in?

        • +1

I intentionally selected the boxes that indicated it had damage which reduced the trade-in value to $10.

      • +2

Huge! has anyone else been able to match this and then being extra cheeky, does it work on 3 or more?

Thinking on cancelling my single order to try and do this

        • +1

I haven't tried doing it with any more than 2. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with more devices unless Samsung have a limit on how many devices you can purchase in a single transaction. Indeed a great value!!

edit: I believe each device has to be a different colour or storage variant, as the discounts didn't apply twice when I had two of the same colour in my cart.

      • +1

Edit: another user and I just worked out the maths breakdown on the discounts for the two phones.

The 5% discount for first-time purchase on the app comes at the end after applying all other discounts. For me it works out like this.

        Accessories
        $18.52
        $18.52
        $170.43
        = $207.47

Phones (S25 Ultra 512GB, 20% off with EDU portal)
        $1,879.20
        $1,879.20
        = $ 3758.4

        Discounts
        Trade-in code -$400
        Trade-in code -$400
        Trade-in bonus -$150
        Trade-in bonus -$150
        $20 Boosted eVoucher - $100
        GALAXY2025 eVoucher -$200
        GALAXY2025 eVoucher -$200
        = -$1600

        $3758.4 + 207.47 = $3965.87
        $3965.87 - $1600 = $2365.87
        $2365.87 * 0.95 = $2247.57 = My order total.

Seems like the GALAXY2025 eVoucher being applied twice might be a bug, because I see no reason why it should be applied twice, but the order has gone through without issue and the status is now awaiting dispatch!

        • So good, i finally managed to add 2x galaxy s25 256gb for $2029 (no evoucher).

How did you generate the imei's and what product did you use? i cant seem to find two working imei's online, have used heaps of generators

          • +1

@Perennial: Luckily I had two eligible devices, my old S8+ and my current S21. Not sure how to go about IMEI generators. Might be best to just ask a friend or relative to find out theirs. If you wanna be extra cheeky, you could go into JB hifi and find the IMEI of a display model? Hahaha.

            • @PimpButters: dont they send an email to the "registered email address" of the owner of the IMEI? if you use a random JB hifi IMEI, it will send the email to jbhifi… and you need the OTP password from that email to proceed?

              • @Sydney11:

"registered email address" of the owner of the IMEI

Lol and how do they get such a list? Lol

    • Did the $100 evoucher for ($20 cost) apply twice as well?

      • No, only the GALAXY2025 $200 eVoucher and the $400 trade-in bonus code.

  • My loyalty voucher is only giving me $300 not $400?

    • +2

It's $400 for the Ultra and $300 for base and plus variant I believe. Live chat gave me a code without much hassle after about a 10 minute wait.

      • thanks

    • $400 is only for S25 Ultra

    • 4 hundy for the ultra baby

  • Am I missing anything before checking out?

Also, is it correct that I don't need to send anything and I will be charged $30 for the trade in?

    https://imgur.com/oRvXiWf

    • You didn't buy $20 evoucher worth $100 for S25 range?

EDIT: also if you want to cancel accessories, people said to order 2 accessories so you can cancel the more expensive one*

      • No I wasn't fully committed at that stage.

Can you please clarify the accessories point. If you order 2, only cancel 1 and that's better off?

        • saves u having to return after receiving

  • +1

How to get the 5%off in Shop App? It shows the 5%off notification message in the cart screen, but it's not applied automatically when I check out.

    • It already comes off each item's price.

  • Hello everyone. I have a question, Samsung says $150 trade in bonus, but when i add my iphone se 2nd gen, I’m only getting $40. So, where’s the $150 bonus?

    • This deal is for Edu/EPP so if you are not seeing it then check you are on the right portal

    • Its typically auto applies to base price

    • Can it be stacked with the $400 trade bonus code??
I got the $400 off but I didn’t get an extra $150 bonus for trade in.

      • Yes they stack.

Trade in bonus is typically auto applied. Assuming you are buying via edu, gov or some EPP portals e.g westpac) the total with about $200 of addon accessories should come up to $1080 for a S25U 256gb with a $10 tradein.

You will need to manually add in the following promos. $400 trade in voucher. $200 GALAXY2025 coupon. And the $20 for $100 coupon. The rest are auto applied

  • -1

So for the trade in, are people selecting the phone with the most value, not sending it in and paying the $30/$60 dollar fee? I'm confused as to which phone I should select to trade in.

    • Asurion took my credit card details to hold a deposit on the value of the phone I was trading in. Not sure how all of the people who are claiming to not send their phone in are getting around that. Maybe it was described in one of the 25 pages of messages above

    • I think you're better off selecting a phone with low value, you will need the IMEI number though. If you select the model of your current phone and tick the boxes to indicate that it's damaged, the price should drop to either $1 or $10. From what I've read on this thread, there is a $30 fee for not sending in the cheaper/damaged models and a $60 fee for the more expensive ones, although I can't confirm that yet. Either way, the trade-in value discount is applied at checkout and you'll have to pay a seperate security charge transaction equal to the stated value of the trade-in devices. No matter what device you trade in, the final price you pay will be the same minus the possible $30 difference in the fee for not sending it.

    • I got charged for the trade in value. And will be refunded when i send through my phone. Not sure how they do it.

When does mobile Monster usually drop buying price for the old gen phone I have S24 Ultra I want to sell $950 but want to wait till my new S25U arrives but don't want to miss out on that Higher price

    • +1

Cant say when they normally drop their prices, but from the date you do the order/quote with them, you have 14 days to return the phone so there is a bit of room to play between you submitting your trade details and returning it. Just have to hope your new samsung arrives within that same timeframe.
I would say wait another week before ordering the new phone but then you will lose out on a couple of the vouchers i thinkg

    • Reviews of Mobile Monster on ProductReview have been a bit dicey in the last 6 months! Making me nervous to take up that option.

  • S25U 1TB & Buds 3 pro

I will just share this here if anyone have the TIME to cancel order and re-order to 'cancel to get a refund for the Earbuds'

As most of you may know you need a phone + accessory 1 + accessory 2, then you can cancel to get a refund for accessory 2 - something expensive like earbuds.

Anyways this is what I can confirm

    1. the e-voucher $100 (paid $20)… when you cancel and reorder (the value is still $100) 72 hours (time limit)

    2. the $400 bonus trade in code cannot be used again. You need to call Samsung support or Live chat to re-generate it CSP 400 discount code. You need to tell them you want the $400 or they could give u something of lesser value $150 etc…

    3. The GALAXY2025 still works $200

    4. Currently the $150 trade in bonus S25U still works. It's $100 for S25/ S25+ EDU Store

    5. Shop App 5% will work (if you use a DIFFERENT email account, you can setup a new account. This is complicated…. technically this account does not need to be Edu.au or gov.au …. You need to contact Samsung Live Chat (orders department), asking them to "unlink your original email to the Education Store, they will reset it, takes about 2 hours) Then you can link your edu.au email to the new account (doesnt need to be edu.au). Dont call the 1300 number they will ask u to wait for 24 hours to reset it. Dont have time.

    6. Once you cancel the order, Asurion will release the IMEI automatically, and you can relink to the new order. I suspect Asurion will refund to… but my trade in value is only $1.

    7. Cancelling Samsung order, refund of money will take about 5 days.

now to see if all this trouble is worth it :(

    • First one that after cancelling the order can I use my $20 code again immediately?

      • Yes. You can use it immediately, the value is still $100

        so until tomorrow 72 hours

    • +3

      successful cancel
      https://imgur.com/a/bbmUgsI

You get an email saying your earbuds is cancelled. I think I read somewhere the money will be sorted out later when shipment is done in February.

I can confirm the $200 GALAXY2025 is still used against the phone. You do need another accessory, hopefully something of lesser value to bundle it with the phone.

      • I have exact same order as yours only buds 3 pro are number 2 and the case is number 3. I am able to select buds 3 pro but when i cancel it errors out. If I select the silicon case, the phone is automatically selected. I was thinking of cancelling the order but not sure if i should if i get stuck at the same point.

        • I read it has to be in the right sequence.

          Phone
          + Accessory 1 (something cheap)
+ Accessory 2 (you want to cancel and get refund like earbuds)

Then and only then it will work. The Phone + Accessory 1 is linked to form the BUNDLE (which allowed the GALAXY2025 code -$200) to be applied.

Accessory 2 is not bundled with the phone (weird setup, but something Ozbargain hunters are using)

          • @Sydney11: So shall i select phone and the case first and then add the buds?

            • @dealsucker: If you have the TIME

to cancel and reorder… this is the automatically cancellation which dont go through "human verification and supervision"

Some ppl have written they will just turn up to Samsung office when they received the phones and return it to Samsung the earbuds, some people have written they will just call Samsung later to return it after delivery… etc…idk what is best for your case.

Will they claw back $200 GALAXY2025 discount? I dont know with absolute certainty. https://www.samsung.com/au/shop-faq/returns-and-cancellation…

But I do know that the Samsung Customer Support online and phone is unable to Unbundle the phone too if its the wrong sequence.

              • @Sydney11: Thanks. Yeah I just spoke to them and they could not do it. I am planning to return them once I receive them and technically the price of the buds listed in the invoice should be the amount that they refund.

                • @dealsucker: yes that the price of the invoice. Wishing you best of luck. And update us.

                • @dealsucker: same for me. not able to do it online or via chat.

    • Are you using the samsungshop app and choosing EDU? It's so figgedty i ended up buying 3 cases by accident and the buds3. nonetheless i wasnt able to remove the accessories

  • Can anyone please help me to find the info that If I will cancel the order so can I use my $20 voucher which I used to order? That will be available agian to use?

    Thanks

    • +1

yes you can re-use it. It took me a few minutes. the value is still $100

  • Ok so I just ordered mine.
    S25 Ultra 512GB came down to $1,443.24
    Buds 3 $170.43
    Galaxy Fit3 $84.93
    Total showing as $1,698.60

Traded in galaxy watch 4 LTE classic for $10
Ordered through app with 5% off and added the GALAXY2025 code

  • +1

The Asurion page at the end says that if we don't return the phone, they will charge the security charge, which is the trade in value ($240 for my phone), plus $60 late return fee. But people here seem to think its only $60 charged. How come?

    • +1

You get the Trade in value discounted from order total. Asurion will not refund it back if the device isn't sent.

    • +2

Because we set our trade in value to $1. We just wanted the $400+150=$550 Trade in Bonus without sending the phone to Asurion

So we only paid security deposit for $1. instead of $240 in your case for your phone.

We didnt want to give Asurion our phone. They value it very little. So we just use the IMEI and declare… opps… the screen is cracked… it will drop the value. In my case it dropped the case to $1. So that is that.

It has been rumored (unconfirmed for 2025), at least last year 2024 it admin fees can go down to $30 for low value phones example $1. Since nobody has done this year 2025, everything is unconfirmed. You can read up in past threads to get more information.

      • There are a lot of people on here who are saying they are trading in an S23U or s24U to get the price down, then planning to not return. If they were valuing their phones at $1 with a cracked screen or something then they may as well say they are returning an S8…

        • You need an IMEI. whichever phone you have I guess… and the phone of lesser value the 'safer" or better…my is a 6 years old phone

    • -1

Assurion also take your credit card details, so yes I think there is a good chance there will be a lot of Ozbargain people in for a surprise when they don't return their S23U/S24U as promised.

Ok it might not have happened other years, and it might not happen this year

      • I think you don't understand that if you were to trade in a phone with a value of $500. They are already removed the $500 off your buy price. Hence why they hold the security deposit otherwise they would be out for the trade in value. This way you got say the $500 trade in value plus the trade bonus. But they keep the security deposit of $500 so its equal

        • Yes, I understand that. I'd suggest half of the people commenting here don't understand that given the talk of not returning phones

    • +1

      https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/term…

      that's the terms and conditions

      it says

      If You: (a) fail to post in Your Existing Device to Us within fourteen (14) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device at your nominated delivery address, You may be charged a Late Return Fee in accordance with clause 7.3(a) below;

      then, 7.3 says:

Late Returns:(a) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than fourteen (14) days but less than ninety (90) days after the date on which You receive Your New amsung Device, We will:
      (i) accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in which case You enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing Device to Us
and ownership of Your Existing Device will transfer to Us); and
(ii) charge You a Late Return Fee.
      (b) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than ninety (90) days after the date onwhich You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:
      (i) not accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in which case You do not enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing
Device to Us and ownership of Your Existing Device will not transfer to Us); and
(ii) arrange for Your Existing Device to be returned to You.
      (c) If clause 7.3(b) applies You will not receive a refund of the Security Charge due to You already having received an equivalent reduction off the Purchase Price of Your New Samsung Device Online

7.3 in no way covers not returning it, only, if you return it > 14 days and > 90 days

    • Lots of people think they won't return their high value phone and asurion will take only $30. Asurion has put block on your cc for trade in value and they will take it if we don't send device. They have $560.block on my cc for s23u 256gb. Outside asurion s23u price is same Around $600 so won't make my difference to keep phone and sell outside for $20-30 gain.

      • Only bad thing is you have to deal with Asurion

      • But you received a further $560 discount on your final purchases price. Therefore are holding a security deposit of it not being sent in

        • Absolutely. And I'm going to send it anyway. Just saying that if you don't send , they will take away money from your cc.

          • @pyramid: I put in a low end phone that was worth $50. Please correct me if i'm wrong. The way I understand it is if I don't return a phone, they will just keep that $50 and that will be the end of it.

            • @LostyJai: There are few comments around additional admin fee of $30/60 charged for asurion if we don't send device.ill see how it goes

              • @pyramid: I imagine by not returning a device, it would fall under clause 7.3.b:

                7.3 Late Returns:

                (b) If You return Your Existing Device to Us more than ninety (90) days after the date on which You receive Your New Samsung Device, We will:

                (i) not accept Your offer to transfer ownership of Your Existing Device to Us (in which case You do not enter into a contract with Us for the sale of Your Existing Device to Us and ownership of Your Existing Device will not transfer to Us); and
(ii) arrange for Your Existing Device to be returned to You.

                (c) If clause 7.3(b) applies You will not receive a refund of the Security Charge due to You already having received an equivalent reduction off the Purchase Price of Your New Samsung Device Online.

The way I read it is that you will forfeit your security deposit and that is it.

                • @LostyJai: how? b) specifically states if you return your existing device to us more than ninety days after …….

the subsequent clauses relate to that.

you are reading things that are not there

                  • @bohn: The way I understood it is that after 90 days you forfeit everything, but that's just my interpretation.

                    • @LostyJai: I'm not sure when everything is forfeited, but, I know that 7.3 only relates to when someone returns a device after 14 and 90 days

It doesn't cover anything to do with someone not returning

                • @LostyJai: Samsung rep confirmed there will be $60 admin fees for not sending device.

                  • @pyramid:

Samsung rep confirmed there will be $60 admin fees for not sending device.

What they say has to match up to the terms and conditions; the terms changed in July 2024 afaik.

Perhaps the rep. is relying on past experiences. I trust terms and conditions over an online rep.

Show me where in the terms and conditions ?

btw you can see this document, is 07 2024…
so like I said, may not be the same as previous years (I haven't seen last years)

                    • @bohn: I think you should speak to the rep. Pyramid is simply relaying what the rep has told him, don't hold him accountable.

                      • @LostyJai: no need? I have the terms and conditions, I am just suggesting people read them themselves.

Online reps in all businesses can often get it wrong.

                  • @pyramid: Will they release the security holding or keep that too?
