Any deal for Robot Vacuum by itself ?

  • +2

    Oh wow!!!!
I'll probably miss out but I want this

    • same

    • Yep I completely missed out. I have had non stop phone calls this morning. Had much better chance on Tuesday.. a little frustrated but whatever

Doesnt seem great, but for the price compared to random chinese brands , probably all good.

    • +3

The S8+ is a $1500 model though, so consider that when comparing. Besides it's ranked 16th in the top 20 of Vacuum Wars Given Roborock has 25 models this year and with every other brand the numbers are in the hundreds that's a really good ranking.

      • +3

Yeah fair enough! seems great for the price then. I wouldnt buy it as want more of the latest features especially around mopping.

robotwars is great but you cant just look at the scores because it doesnt take into account what you actually value as important. i.e. its below average scores at obstacle avoidance, deep cleaning carpets

        • robotwars is great

It is. I went to the recording of an episode in London a while back!

  • Does the mop spin or vibrate at all?
Or just a damped cloth being dragged along?

    • +2

The latter. No fancy mopping features.

      • which model has fancy mopping features?

        • +1

Q revo has spinning mop pads and drying

        • +1

          https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/s/wgjRESQzKg
This list gives you an indication.
Normally the s series or higher q Revo series like the curv etc

          • +1

@maverickjohn: To be pendantic, all models of Qrevo, all variants have twin spinning mops. It’s in the name. Other Roborocks have a mop plate. Regardless of mop type, higher spec ones have things like dirty water extra cleaning, temperature settings, extension mop arms etc.

Vacuum wars reckon there isn’t really much difference in performance between spinning mops and plate through.

    • -1

you need $800+++ models to get spinning mop i think

      • +6

RRP is $1299, so this is a $800++ model

  • Is the dustbin volume correct? This comparison on reddit shows it to be 470ml

    https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.…

    • Typo.

      • all good - thanks for posting the deal, only reason I noticed difference is that I was comparing this to the Q5 pro + I was planning to get from Amazon. Very similar specs and trying to justify the extra $120 for the dustbin.

  • This handle slate floors okay ?

    • They all would

  • Impressive deal impressive machine love the way it cleans tiles at home

  • -1

    EBay plus only ?

    • -1

would also like to know.. mine lapsed recently and waiting for a better offer to join

    • -1

Can someone confirm? Also want to know

  • How’s something like this go with pet hair

    • I have an S6 that's a few years old and you just need to clean the rollers sometimes other than that it does great.

  • +4

New ATL Q Revo MaxV deal please

    • Meeee2

  • +1

WHAT? I bought for $649 on JB priced matched from Amazon :(

    • Oh, did JB price match?!

I got the $649 Amazon one too. Don't feel bad, it's still an amazing deal

      • Yes jb price matched via their chat.

  • +1

New to robot. So it's ozbargain approved deal? Safe to go right?

    • +1

      I think lubluelu

      • which model, what's the price

        • I got the Lubluelu SL60D with dock and it's amazing. Outshines the old Viomi I had

          • @Shaunzki: I'm curious which Viomi model you had?

I'm sort of in the market for a really good deal or budget auto-empty downstairs robovac to replace a couple of 13 year old XV-11 Neatos that both persist in working OK downstairs despite their age and one dead LED display :)

I grabbed a $499 Viomi S9 Alpha from Panmi a few years ago on a similar amazing deal as this one. Seemed like it was worth the risk for a vac, mop and auto-empty for about 3rd the price of similar models. I even advised a friend to grab one too, with even more apprehension. Ours is used through a larger area upstairs since carrying it (and initially the dock) between levels was a faff and risked losing its maps.

Anyway, it's few years later and the Viomi S9 is still going OK after a battery swap at about 18 months (original was probably crook) and so is the friend's one … phew!

            • +2

@Wing Nut: Had the S9. Had a few issues at 2-3 years old, also had to replace battery.

The Lubluelu seems much better overall. Definitely cleaning carpets much better and overall picking up pet hair. Has two rotating spinners compared to one on the Viomi.

              • @Shaunzki: Thanks, I'll keep that LublueLu model in mind.

Our Viomi has a weird problem I've been able to ignore, but I worry it could develop.

When it returns to base and empties, the extraction blower should do a solid 10 -15 seconds of running to empty the 'bot. A few months from new it decided to chop this task up into 3 - 5 shorter hopper emptying runs, all a few seconds apart, but probably adding up to a full run. It works fine occasionally, then it doesn't - all a bit random including the length of each burst.

I've checked the ducting is clear in both the vacuum and the hopper. It does it whether the hopper bag is empty or fairly full. I worry it'll either not run at all or decide to keep running.

    • +2

I'd get this robo at this price (pending checking out some reviews first) but I do have a lublulu which is great.

      • I'm curious what the big differences are between the two considering both have poor mopping and average obstacle avoidance.

I have two huskies and it has been excellent at picking up the hair

  • Code doesnt work for me?

    • No it doesn't. Not yet.

    • 10am aedt

    • +2

Isn't that on 28th Nov 10:00 am AEDT

  • for those who are interest, 2% cashback shopback swap card —->ebay gc, saves another $9.5. but better get it ready now.

  • +1

Hmmm, should I risk trying to buy this one and returning the Amazon one that's on its way 😂

    • risk of what

      • -1

Getting my Amazon account shut down 😂

        • +2

Amazon have free change of mind returns. My order said until jan 30 next year

          • +1

@Balljuice: Oh didn't know that, cheers. Have been charged return fees in the past.

            • +1

@John Kimble: Depend on what item, not every item eligible for free return.

  • -1

How would this compare to the lubluelu?

    • Well

      • -1

May I ask how you know? Just bought the lubluelu recently but thinking of returning at this price

        • Research

        • +2

Nobody can answer your question without any specific models to compare.

          • @ce5himm: Sorry I meant the recent deal that was posted, the SL60D model. Would like to know if it's worth sending back and getting this.

  • +1

These vacs depreciate faster than teslas

    • +13

I honestly would never think about the value for a device like a vacuum. Like I would never want to buy a second hand nor would I think about selling it

      • my point is, wait six months and you will get the top of the line model for half the price

  • +8

    code still doesn't work

    • in 2 days!

      • +1

damn I was waiting for an hour now

    • In 2 days? When did that changed?

      • I thought it was today too, looks like eBay did something sneaky

  • -2

Can we rely on ebay ? Do they actually sell original and good quality products? Did anybody have experience of buying in ebay. How’s the product turned out to be

I was planning to buy a realink security system in ebay. But the price in ebay is way lesser than official realink store rasing too many questions.

Sorry if this is a basic question. I was grown up thinking ebay is trash. Never ordered anything off ebay.

    • +2

eBay is a marketplace and this is the official Roborock store. YMMV with other resellers

    • eBay is great - you just need to pay attention which seller you are buying from (for example its common to find resellers just dropshipping from china) however this listing is direct from roborock. Plenty of eBay sellers are direct from manufacturers. You can check seller feedback. I've never had any significant issues with eBay and it's consumer protection is very robust.

  • In 2 days?

  • +16

eBay just pulled a fast one and told me it's now live on the 28th. FML sorry.

    • +2
      • My exact reaction.

        • Still at 10am AEDT? or is this going to be a midnight thing?

          • +1

@freeradical: Still 10am. eBay like to have all their sales kicking off around that time during business hours.

    • that's actually good, more time to make the decision

      • +1

but then it will be ozbargained

        • +1

doesn't matter. If you can not gurantee in 2 days later, then you can not gurantee today either.

    • +1

Zomg - my heart was racing, thought I've missed out, I don't need this but I want it 😂

    • Sigh I was clicking and typing frequently for nothing lol.
Will do the same in 2 days

    • I had topped up an existing ~290 in discounted GC's to get me across the line.

      Pot committed now

  • This was a hushhh moment for everyone..

  • +1

only 3247 ppl have viewed the item in the last 24 hours lol

  • Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again.

    • in 2 days now

    • read above - check in 2 days!

  • Jesus 200 cheaper than what I paid at JB.
Do we reckon I could buy this and return back to JB?

    • depend on do you want to keep your ozbargain badge or not. LOL

      • Always but I don’t want 2 robots lol

        • +3

sure, i mean you want to keep you badge, return to JB. save $200, that's an ozbargainer

  • Not my image but incredibly relevant for comparing models: https://i.imgur.com/K3bRpHY.png

Argh, I've already ordered the Dreame Mova S10 Plus from this deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879214

The Dreame seems to be better on paper, but is new so there is very little in the way of reviews. This Roborock is more of a brand name (not that Dreame is unknown) and 'known' to be at least decent.

My Dreame hasn't shipped yet, so maybe I'll try my luck on Thursday morning and cancel the order if I'm lucky enough to get the Roborock.

    • From the Polish review (!) I saw of the Mova it seems pretty good… Great price too, and I don't there be much difference, other than that sweet, sweet Roborock app.

Mova does a cute little butt wiggle when mopping, so it's going to be at least reasonable. Who knows about longevity at this point though.

      • Yeah I watched that polish review too. Actually 2 of them. Thank god for auto translated subtitles.

It seems good. Dreame have a history of making solid robot vacs, so I’m quietly confident.

I’m tempted to make a review of my own once it arrives as the first English review.

        • Please do - I'll watch it!

I'm interested in the software side for the Mova. I have a misses M7 and whilst it's a capable cleaner, the app sucks and the maps do weird things quite often.

Roborock's app is meant to be best in class.
