            @Droz: I got it yesterday.

First impressions are positive, though I can't speak with authority yet as I haven't had too much of a play with it.

The app seems good enough. Not a crazy amount of features, but pretty much everything you need.

            • @loksmack: any more updates on the cleaning prowess or the speed?

              • +1

                @Jackson: I'm very happy!

Vacuum performance seems to be about as good as I would have hoped for. Carpets look very clean after it's been over them.

Mopping seems typical for a robovac. I'm not sure if the vibrating pad makes much of a difference. I imagine all models have the same issue in that after a little while the mop pad would become 'saturated' with dirt/grime and cleaning performance would drop. As such, I'd say good for small areas or single rooms, not whole house in one go. As I said, this isn't unique to this model.

Navigation seems reasonable. I do note that it seems to have a bit more trouble with thresholds than me previous model (Viomi v2 Pro). It often does a bit of 'circle work' while on the edge of a rug, and the paths it takes seem a bit odd. Nevertheless it does eventually get to all areas, just perhaps not in the most efficient way possible.

I have 2 main gripes so far. The first is that you kind of need the mop pad installed all the time, even when not mopping. This is because there is velcro under the robot to hold the pad on, which sticks to carpets/gets dirty if you don't have the mop pad attached. Yes it does raise the pad when not mopping, but it's not enough to completely clear carpets.

The second is that a few times I've had an error that the front bumper sensor is stuck and I need to go physically tap it before resuming. Admittedly it's usually obvious why it's complaining (like a kids toy getting caught up at the front of the robot), but my old robot would handle this a bit better.

Overall for the price I'm very happy with it.

                • @loksmack: Mine got delivered yesterday, even though Amazon was saying December the 11th.

The box is good. The machine looks nice. The base station is good.

The first time I ran it, it managed to totally avoid the carpets and never came back for them.

Today it did each room, and did the carpet in each room after the regular floors.

It's far better at navigating around my house, doesn't get lost, and the camera on the front seems to make a difference for avoiding things on the ground.

Weirdly, I think that my cheap robot - the Midea M7 - is a better vacuum cleaner *at least on standard suction) but the Mova S10 is better at mapping, seems to be quieter, a little slower, but way more autonomous. It managed to get onto my thick lounge room rug and vacuum it which the M7 could not.

I also found that the velcro would drag around my door mat if the mopping pad wasn't attached, which is a shame.

I use the Dreamhome app to control the vac, but I might try adding it to the Mi Home app with integration for Google Home.

I've yet to try the mopping function, so I'll comment about that in the future… even though this is a Roborock thread :)

First time purchaser looking for feedback.

Is this better than the Tapo RV30 Max? What are the key differences?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/877704

  • Has anyone successful paired a Roborock vacuum with an Orbi router?

Historically I've had many issues pairing 2.4ghz devices with this mesh system

    • +1

The issue is that the Orbi has 2.4GHz and 5GHz mixed on the same SSID and 2.4GHz only devices can't connect.

I know in older firmware versions it was possible to telnet into the router and separate them. I think these days you need to go into the advanced settings, reduce the 5GHz power to 25% and move far away from the router (if possible) so that you're out of the 5GHz range and connecting to 2.4GHz. Then you should be able to pair it fine.

      Not ideal I know.

      • I've tried this with an old deebot I picked from Aldi years ago. Could never get it to connect and I worry the same will happen with a $400 vacuum

      • Haha that's ridiculous! I had to google it myself as I couldn't believe this would be the case. So many of my smart devices will only pair when 2.4ghz is activated and 5ghz deactivated. It's so much easier using one SSID. Everything works fine after pairing and switching back to 'smart connect'.

    • +1

Yeah I have - but a few years ago now. Remember there was a bit of farking around, but cant recall exactly how I did it sorry - no doubt as a result of web trawling….

Upshot is - it can be done!

      • Good to know, I don't mind buying if I know there is some chance to get it connected

        • Was defo something to do with forcing the 2.4ghz connection though, as mentioned above

    • Not sure what model Orbi you have, but you can separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

When you login there’s a checkbox to tick/untick. You need to give the 5ghz a separate name or it auto combines them.

If there’s no option on your default SSID, there should be this option in the guest network.

  • ebay 28th, facebook marketplace 28th at 9:01am (or earlier)

  • Is this exclusive to eBay plus ?

  • +1

Would this be a better buy than the Dreams S10?
Feature set on the dreame looks much better

  • So a little off topic but I'm curious from other robot vacuum owners - is the self emptying dock super loud when it empties the vac? I just finally got a dock for my Lubluelu yesterday and I absolutely could not believe how loud that little thing was. I'd almost argue it's noisier than my actual full sized dyson.

    • Yes they're all super loud as they're sucking all the dustbin contents out and up into the dock's tank. That requires a lot of suction and more suction = more sound.

    • Roborock/Dreame have quieter dock empty sound compared to cheaper models.
Trade off is that it's only for 10 seconds or so. I leave auto empty off if running at night when folks are sleeping

  • +1

Not compatible with Valetudo sadly, and my RoboRock V1 is still kicking (although missing many features and regularly gets stuck on furniture lol), good thing I have 2 days to mull this over lol

    • Not much is anymore, unfortunately. Looks like the Dreame D10s Plus is the cheapest available new(ish) stock that's supported.

    • I'm quite unfamiliar with Valetudo. Is there any likelihiood it will be compatible at some stage in the future? I'm keen for smart vacs but would rather not be cloud dependent…

      • Doesn't seem like it based upon the comment here.

        • I was just about to buy a roborock Q7 Max before reading that hardware revision… worst news of my life

  • +1

how does it compare with Dreame Mova S10 Plus 7000Pa Robot Vacuum Cleaner $467.40 Delivered @ Dreame Official AU via Amazon AU?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/879214

    • The Dreame seems to be better 'on paper', but as it's new it doesn't have many reviews/user testing, so might be more of a gamble than this Roborock which is known to be reasonably good.

I've got the Dreame on order from that deal. Not sure if I will try to change to the Q8 or not…

  • How does this compare to the Qrevo MaxV?

  • I wonder if this deal will also be mirrored on the official Roborock website? If it does, one can get JB to price-match.

    • -1

JB won't match eBay. I tried many times to price match dyson official store

      • +2

I know that, I am referring to their non eBay online store.

        • -3

the discount is from ebay, so their own website won't match it. The invoice you received is before the discount price which mean the store received full price

        • +1

          matched amazon not ebay

  • +1

Main selling point of this is the huge dust bin, great for homes with pets/long hair :)

  • slightly OP, but any good deals around for robot lawn mowers?

  • Only in 370 carts already in preparation (and trepidation) lol

  • I’m thinking about switching to this from my Lubluelu SL60D. I think the rubber brushes will help with the amount of hair that gets wrapped up in the roller brush

    • Not many people comment the brush. How often do you need to untangled the hair to clean the brush? I'm tossing SL60D ($199) and Dreame D10s ($229) on Amazon.

D10s use rubber brush but only one side stick.

      • we have two people with long-ish hair and a medium hair cat, so I end up having to untangle it at least once a week (I should be doing it more frequently but I don’t)

  • Have this model and love it!

  • Assume it's just an ebay special on this model, and not similar deals across their (higher) range?

    • +1

Correct. eBay are funding most of this for Black Friday.

  • How many units do they actually have? 10?
Either way I'm already sorted and bought my robovac on amazon

  • I've only had my lubluelu for a week and it's given my dramas at all… I guess I'm okay.

    • Has or hasn’t? I just ordered the SL60D. Hoping it’s not a regretful purchase

      • +2

I'm assuming he means not regretful. Mines amazing. Thinking of just keeping it instead of buying this

        • I’ve got my SL60D doing its first run and so far I’m very impressed

  • Any cashback ?

    • no cashback with those code.

  • how does this compare to Q5 pro+ from Costco now that is $399.98 ?
    https://www.costco.com.au/Appliances/Vacuums-Floorcare/Robot…

    • Side by side comparison of features: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/70816/117920/q8_max_vs…
TL;DR if you don't value mopping and you don't care for "reactive tech avoidance" (you can search for videos that test this, you'll see the Q8 Max+ is mediocre anyway) - Q5 Pro+ is a better buy

      • That's roborock for you.
A thousand different models and V5 is better than a V8 model just to make it more confusion they probably came out at the same time

    • On paper, like yoogz said, if moping and object avoidance is not what you care about. Q5 pro+ is almost the same thing and cheaper. I was at Costco today, it is the same price in-store. I am actually might just get the q5 pro+, it's our first robot vacuum, I think it is good price to start with.

  • How's the mopping on this unit? Our house is all wood and tiled floors.

  • Comparison to Lubluelu SL60D?

  • What’s the significant difference between Dreame 10ds and this? And does it justify >$200 price difference

  • Looks like they've pulled the listing when they realised the mistake. Back up to $1,300 now instead of $900. So I'm assuming uncle Jack just screwed us.

    • eBay have said that the sale will still go on.

      • At your price? Oooo, will have to keep checking the store for the link closer to the time.

I'm torn between this and the Qrevo Max V for the much talked about Mop function. But the Max V is at $1,270 and this is $470 if I snag one, ⅓ the price!

    • Maybe because it's in 479 carts…🤔😂

  • +2

"This listing was ended by the seller on Tue, 26 Nov at 7:40 PM because there was an error in the listing."

Ofcourse, with that much interest on the item at that price and after the postponement yesterday, they probably have reconsidered of letting that one go for such low price and for that many volumes, although they said they were expecting the shipment to arrive on the 6th of December, I'd imagine their incoming volumes are nowhere near the demand of 400+ that people had already added to their carts on eBay.

    • eBay funded. Makes sense to clear the carts and stop people complaining about the listing price not being up to date. Some people here get real nasty to stores.

  • +1

Anyone else had their item removed from their cart and marked as "unavailable"?

  • +2

Had the item removed from my cart as well "Item unavailable". I tried going back to Amazon after I cancelled my purchase yesterday at $649 because of this listing and now item is also unavalibale on Amazon.

    Cheapest anywhere is now $799

  • -6

Hey has anyone been able to claim this deal ?? Link does not seem to work ??

    • +9

      🤦

  • Been going down the rabbit hole of robot vacs… One thing I find lacking is information on how these things handle multistory usage.
Sometimes people mention having to take the base unit upstairs (which I think in reality wouldn't be done much) and sometimes people say they just need to move the robot, but this is very rare.

    • +1

I've got the roborock s6 pure and do this regularly

As long as the base is at the same place each time and you specify which map is the correct one, the vacuum can find its way back to base without issue

  • How is this robot with climbing? Say a 4cm door sill?

  • Is the sale still going to happen?

    • 100%

    • Probably only 10 units 😂

  • +1

This listing was ended by the seller on Tue, 26 Nov at 7:40 PM because there was an error in the listing.

The same model is now listed by the same seller (Roborock Official Store AU) at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/205127990498 with no mention of the black friday deal

    • Yeah, checking this morning. Same message. So no sign of this deal they were supposedly going to activate today. 😕

  • Does this work well on carpets ?

    • Not bad, check reviews

  • Will the BFROBO code work on other robo vacuums?

What’s the consensus of the Qrevo MaxV (currently listed on their eBay store for $1599)

  • +5

There will be a new listing for this one. I've updated to what I think it is until I get confirmation.

    • Thanks for following up

    • A new eBay product page for the Q8 Max+?

      • +1

Yes I've edited out the original

    • thanks for following up. i'm waiting for this one!

    • We’re ready when you are…

  • +1

Ok the link in OP is correct
