An exceptional camera at a great price

  • Similar to buy from Sony website with CR 8% and a free battery.

Excellent price. I was thinking of posting this and the a7s iii (also record low I believe, feel free to add it) but refrained posting too much Sony stuff. Just the other week, someone on OB made a comment that I must be an undercover employee for Sony spruiking Sony products LOL. Thanks for saving me the effort ;-)

      Found him!!

      Get him! Go Go Go!

      😆

    • I was looking at the a7s3 which I feel like it hasn't had a decent discount for a while either.

A little more niche, but good value when comparing the similarities the a7s3 has with the fx3.

  • Hell yeah

Also if Sony watching this mania lately, BRING BACK SONY X YA MONSTERS

  • Great price. However. This model has been in production for over 3 years at this point, and the replacement is imminent (Q1 2025). The new model should be a substantial upgrade (AI augmented autofocus has come a long way since 2021).

True but the new model is also probably going to cost a silly amount of money on launch. The A7IV cost about 4k at launch and probably took about 6 months after release to settle down to more sensible levels (low 3000s). If you aren't prepared to pay an extra $1500-2000 on top of the price here then it'll be a while before the A7V becomes viable.

      • It's a good point. Though when the A7RV came out, there were some really good launch offers (I think up to $800 off RRP? From memory?). So it's not a guarantee there won't be any good deals at launch. Sony has A LOT more competition in the mirrorless space now.

  • If youre moving from apsc or m4/3 systems where size is a larger consideration, I highly recommend checking out the a7cii model. I had the a7iv and then switched over in about 6 months. Didn't look back and really enjoying it!

It doesn't look like a big diff on paper but in real world use, it is, especially paired with smaller primes like 40mm f2.5
