My first post but happy I can contribute to Ozbargain for the first time.
Been waiting if the price would go down for the sony a7s3 body but it has been increasing every week.
The cheapest online is $4090 from an online retailer.
The cheapest on store is $4290 from videopro which you can price match on JB.
Luckily I wanted to check if the sony store at Parammatta could give a better deal and to my luck, they had end of lease sale.
I am not sure but the sign said 20% off all the stock and 30% off the demo. You can only get the demo product after they are closed which is around the 2nd week of March.
Personally no idea about other items but I got a good deal with Sony a7s3 saving $450 and they also threw in a Sony z series battery worth $80.

I thought that was canon!
Yes, I missed out on that. But I think this deal saves you nearly $100. If I remember it was the boxing deal at $39xx which would come down to $36xx after cashback. So this deal is still cheaper and the best right now for anyone looking to purchase any sony items*. Fyi the deal is not posted online anywhere. You have to go to the parramatta store. Also maybe a good idea to give them a call before you go
Will they close the store permanently or relocate?
No idea
All stores are permanently closing.
This will be sad, I went to the Sony store in HK and it was nice to be able to try the latest and greatest as well as any other E-mount lens on their massive wall.
Chatswood store is closing too.
Why are they closing stores? Personally, I never visited any of their stores and the Parramatta one was always empty
Kinda feel like you just answered your own question…..
Yeah… but why male models?
Feels like the world is coming to an end
No point in Sony having stores whilst also having retailers like JB hifi, good guys etc also selling their products.
If they offered some type of repair service then that would bring people into the stores(like Apple), otherwise there is really no point. The problem is Apple deals with smaller devices that can be repaired quickly.
There’s no way 3 small Sony Stores can handle repair services onsite related to TVs, PlayStation, cameras, audio, etc.
The stores do offer help related to servicing. You can drop off cameras, audio etc in store and they get sent off to the repair centres.
It takes up to a few weeks this way. But that’s the same if you were to bring a Dyson, Roborock, Canon, etc back to any brick and mortar store.
Apple is an outlying brand with exceptional customer service that no one else can really match.
Is this 20% off a price matched price or their crappy RRP?
Looks like its 20% off RRP or matching the best price of Australian retailer. Just called to see the price of the 200-600 and they said the best would be Georges price.
if you purchase last month, i think you can claim cashback from sony $300 !
