I was browsing Amazon's Black Friday deals and thought that this deal looked enticing given the 61% price drop.

Though I haven't been a Windows user for a long time except for office laptops, this looked like a great deal.

Maybe someone else could benefit from this.

    non-upgradeable 8GB memory kills this.

    • Not only that, but "Total Cores - 4" is slowing even more.

8gb ram.. what is this… the new Apple?

    • +3

this is 8gb windows ram… it's basically 4gb Apple ram

With Lunar lake being released, 11th gen is now 4gens behind, and with M2 and M3 apple laptops being in this ball park this thing needs to be a lot cheaper for it to be a deal and even then i'd take the Acer swift with AMD chip over this intel chip any day…

  • I haven't been a Windows user for a long time

    it's not getting any better.
As much as I hate Apple, at least the UI is fairly consistent for the last 20 years. the Microsoft changes theirs every few years.

  • Operating system Windows 10 Pro? Now, the latest is Window 11….

    • my work laptop is Win10 and from what I've heard about Win11 from colleagues being on pilot program to test them, reviews have been … terrible. Esp with battery life. Maybe it's a good thing to stay on Win10

    • Yeah this is OLD!
I think we're up to Surface Laptop 7 now?

      • 2020? Strewth… Ancient!

this is terrible in just about every way… don't buy this

  • wtf suchan

  • At this price point, I guess they're just taking the piss.

No deal. RRP of $3,253.93 is completely fake for 8GB RAM (even if today was its original release date on 13 April 2021).

Update: The original Australian RRP, back in the dreamtime, was $1,499 for a 16GB RAM model (https://au.pcmag.com/laptops/86656/microsoft-surface-laptop-…)

  • I got one second hand for $500 recently.

  • 8GB, stay away from this !

  • After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10. Your PC will still work, but recommend moving to Windows 11. This Surface Laptop 4 was introduced in 13 April 2021. Buy at your own risk.

This is essentially the same performance as the 8th gen refurbs that get dissed whenever one gets posted here at the $250 mark.

  • What a joke for 8gb ram and asking for this price. Such a ripoff

  • 1200 dollar for outdated machine in 2025- too expensive. What a waste of money!
