16gb is the minimum you should look at these days imho.
12gb cards are only going to get around (approx) 4 years of good use before getting to the point that 12gb vram isn't quite enough to run the latest games at decent gfx settings. Where as 16gb will make it 6 years (approx).
An extra couple of hundred for a 4070 ti super over a 4070 super, is a no brainer imho.
Thats 4 years though, and you likely will be looking for an upgrade anyway around the 3 year mark.
12 is the target vram architecture for the xbox so most games for example will be still developed with that in mind.
Id still go for 16 though.
Interesting point about console ram.
Much like the consoles only having only 8 cores, and that being the standard that is built to.
Anyway, I tend to hold onto cards for a longggg time. And generally I noticed that buying a higher end card with more ram than needed, tends to extend a cards longevity. e.g. I am only just now upgrading one of my machines from a 1080ti (which was great for 1080p gaming for nearly 6 years).
Banger deal
1119 for 16GB 4070tis. It's only money!
$400 cheaper then 4080 and only few frames in it
smart money is on ti supers
How is the service Smarthomestoreau?
It's Shopping Express, so must be fine?
So Smarthomestoreau is Shopping Express' store on ebay?
See under "related stores" on this page :-) Business address on the Smarthomestoreau invoice I got is the same as Shopping Express on google maps (unit 6/95 Gow St, Padstow NSW 2211).
This has been discussed on this website. Not sure why they have another business for ebay.
@Crimzic: cool, thanks for sharing
I'm trying to get ple to price match. Where can you see that these guys are shopping Express
It's fine. I got a Ryzen 7 5700X from them a while ago without issue.
Thanks
I have this card, and it's quite noisy under load but great performance-wise.
You should do an undervolt, my 4070 ti was noisy too. Now it's usually 1500rpm or less with an unnoticeable performance loss.
Good idea, thanks!
No worries
Thanks, this comment made me finally get around to doing it on my 4080 pny super, chernobylite went from 80c and loud to 68c and much queiter with maybe 2 fps loss
Does you model have coil whine too? The PNY 4070 Supers seem to consistently have problems with noise according to posts about this card.
Can't hear it. Possibly, the fans are noisier :-)
5000 series so close, hence all the discounts lately. All good if you know but buyer beware!
Wait till 4pm for $20+$20 Cashback and stack with 6% e-gift cards
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878181
im a little clueless, but doesnt the shopback cashback fail if you use gift cards?
and how do you get 6% G/C, link says 3%
3% off+3% back in Woolies gift cards
Woolies GCs cannot be used to purchase any other GCs as per Terms and Conditions. So you won't be able to use them to buy eBay GCs that would be necessary for this video card.
@warenick: No as in you get 3% of the gift cards via purchase value back in Woolies money aka spend $100 on eBay gift cards pay $97 and get $3 off your next Woolies shop
@Kazusa: That 3% and 3% in points is only on selected gift cards. You won't get any discounts on eBay GC.
As per T&C:
~Selected Gift Cards: The selected Gift Cards are Woolworths Supermarket, BIG W, BWS, Dan Murphy’s, EG, Simply Groceries, Essentials, Everyday WISH and Your Pick Gift Cards
@warenick: Your pick choice can be swapped for ebay gift cards, done it myself a few times

if pny is not to your liking gigabyte version here for a little more. Also dont forget to stack with shopback ebay cashback.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878898
Absolutely worth the extra for the better fans and heatsink on that gigabyte card.
Absolutely. No way I'd go with the PNY's two crappy fans. Thanks.
PNY GeForce RTX 4080 Super VERTO $1529 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126687317010
MSI GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER VENTUS 3X $1549 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126665490175
I just got the MSI one as it fits in my case! ($1488 with 4% off ebay gift cards through Rewards Gateway)
It is a bit lame that there is no advantage to Ebay Plus with this code as the code maxes out @$300
hold on the 4080 SUPER? at the very least id expect to 5080 to be $2k at launch
Who know right. The way I look at it, a 3080 is still holding its value and the 5080 will likely be $2k+ and hard to obtain when they get released in January. My guess is that price vs performance, the 4080 super will still hold value against the 5070 and 5080. It also seems like stock of the 4080 is drying up, so loose my hold!
haha i'm struggling, I told myself id jump on at 1.5k but im so bad at making decisions they'll be sold out before I commit
@NotSureIfSerious: Nvidia is gonna nvidia.
I fully expect the 5080 is going to launch at a price that will make most people regret hodling. i.e. Upper 2k range for a decent brand model.
And it won't be until mid 2025 that it starts to get into the sane range, and approaches 2k for a base model.
Because nvidia always nvidia's…
Great deal, but the card is about to be superseded by 50 series GPUs next year. On the other hand, this isn't a bleeding edge card and likely won't go this low again for a while even with a 5070 around, which will be $$.
The 40s are being run out of the supplier chain so they have a clearer path for the 50s launching very early next year.
Ita all over the gpu tech press.
Consider whether to grab that upgrade now whist discounting is happening. You would expect as stock tightens , prices inflate in the interim until the 50s flow through.
Expectations are 50s at a higher rrp.
Our FX rate may not help matters.
It is expected that xx70/Super/Ti will be AU$1.2k+ msrp again so even if it's 30% faster than 4070S, this deal is still OK for those who can't wait.
PLEASE. SOMEONE TELL ME TO HODL
