After a few days of negotiation with AliExpress I've managed to get the successor to the previously popular Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 down to a good price for those after a new tablet with good specs. Unfortunately I've been unable to get a deal on the Matte display version, as stock is low across the board. Alternatively you can get the 8GB/256GB variant for US$244.14 (~A$371.65) and the 12GB/256GB variant for US$269.19 (~A$409.79).

The main improvements over the original is the newer and faster flagship MediaTek Dimensity 8300 CPU that blows the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 out of the water making it far more suitable for gaming, a brighter 12.7" 600 nits display (was 400 nits), more future Android updates (currently ships with Android 14), 45W fast charging (was 20W), the option of 12GB RAM and Bluetooth 5.3.

Other features include ZUI 16 (Android 14), 12.7" 144Hz 2944x1840 LCD display with 600nits brightness, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 10200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C 3.2 port with 4K@60Hz video out and pogo pins for a keyboard.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"

      I believe their original tracking number in the AliExpress order is incorrect. I got another one added to my Auspost tracking, departing from Singapore, which currently has the status 'Arrived awaiting clearance (inbound) Melbourne VIC today 8:06am'

        I've only used it for a short time, but it was quite snappy during that, including the magnetic pen. Even after changing the language, many app names and search bars are still in Chinese, and I'm still figuring out how to change those. The screen isn't OLED, but it's okay for everyday use. Lastly, the green colored body looks surprisingly gorgeous.

                @cjm_007: This is what I did..changed the language to english..uninstalled all the chineese apps.. installed playstore from app store and installed all the required apps from it. Then installed microsoft laucher made it default and set the search engine to google.

                  @EssendonUser: How did you find the play sore app?, all the apps, including the included appstore are full mandarin even though I have chosen English as a system language.
                  can't figure out how to navigate this.

    Got mine. Very happy with it and can even access Cantonese apps on the device. Ordered a rotating stand case for it for $15AUD on aliexpress was definitely worth it for the size.

        According to AusPost tracking it was "cleared and awaiting international departure" from Singapore on the 5th
        The next tracking update was on the 16th and it arrived the next day

    Finally I've some movement. Awaited departure from Singapore since 12/Dec. Arrived in Sydney awaiting clearance 17/Dec. Just got processed (3PM) at sorting centre today (18/Dec). Expected delivery 19 or 20/Dec.

          Did you get a local tracking number? On a previous AliExpress/Lenovo(same seller) deal my tablet was left at a local facility for 2 weeks and then returned to sender.

          I wasn’t even given the local tracking number until after it was retuned to the sender.

          Update. I asked the seller for an update. Because the parcel can’t be on a plane for 14 days without and new tracking info in Australia

          This was their reply:

In order to protect your rights and interests, it is recommended that you open a dispute on the platform and apply for a return or refund. We apologize for the inconvenience!

          Hmm what happened to my parcel? Was it even shipped? I still want the tablet

    It’s pretty annoying seeing this is there second time ive paid for a tablet. And have received nothing.

    previous deal 2023-model tablet after my parcel was returned to seller. And the seller told me to request a refund. The refund process was so painful.

    For 4 weeks. I would ask for a refund, AliExpress accepted the reason for refund, then seller would reject the refund. This process repeated 3x.

    During this period. I had to check AliExpress emails daily. If I failed to reply, i’m sure the seller would have won the dispute. And I would have been denied the refund.
