Why are people buying these when they hardly last a day?

    • +8

What are these? There are quite a few products listed, assuming Watch7?

      • +1

Yeh sorry, watch, was looking at one for my Mrs for health tracking and most reviews are saying these with nearly everything turned off doesn't last a day, hardly 18 hours. The Watch 7 that is. Quite pointless.

        • +11

Don't believe everything you read online, there's a lot of misinformation around.

My friend's Watch 7 lasts just about 2 days with the screen always on, with an image background, with fitness tracking and location always on as well.

Tracking activities with the GPS or interacting with it more will drain it more quickly of course.

          • -2

@eug: You reckon? Would you know if the Watch 7 would work okay on an iPhone?

Willing to test it out if that's the case as it's a decent price compared to the Apple Watch 10.

            • +1

@itsmoe: It won't work well with the iPhone - it'll be seriously gimped. No app I think, and definitely no integrations.

              Android only, essentially.

              • @Droz: Thanks for confirming, I was kinda expecting that. Back to square one then.

                • +4

@itsmoe: Sadly apple actually makes it hard for anything other than their own products to work on their platform

          • +7

@eug: To support you and Make it little more clear on this for readers,

Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra last 100 hours, it will last approx 2-3 days with most of functions on,

In south Korea, it's launched as 900 AUD, it's launched in Australia as $1299,

Myself is a Korean living in Australia and I'm using latest Galaxy phone with Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (which has same battery as 7 Ultra and last 2-4 days lasting).

Current sales above does not including 7 Ultra, and Samsung will release their new watch 8 series in 3 months time so unless people are getting a really great deal, it's worth to buy at pre-launch sales in July 25.

I was able to get and actually initially ordered 7 ultra for $485 (I was going to trading in my zflip 4 and Watch 5 pro) along with Zflip 6 at that time, I have cancelled the order since I was going to spend too much.

Watch 7 Ultra is great in functionality and samsung health has been amazing, I'm still considering currently as pricing on online come down to under $600. (Amazon/ few online stores )

Watch 7 44mm may be lasting approx 1.5 days, 40mm may be slightly less.

I agree that it's not great that need to recharge the watch daily, I have to have watch that at least last easily 2-3 days.

            • +1

@Ryoon: Thank you for the detailed response.

            • @Ryoon: Hanging out for the watch 8 classic, :D fingers crossed.
And then I'll just need a ring 2 with haptics like vibration for notifications.

            • @Ryoon: you made the right choice, the Watch 5 pro is great. You were going to give up too much for a watch 7 ultra.

          • @eug: 44mm or 40mm?

            • @hopper: 44mm. 40mm is too small for his wrist.

              • @eug: Yes, 44mm had bigger battery compared to 40mm which the op said has poor battery

                • @hopper: OP said it was less than a day. The battery in the 40mm isn't less than half the size. OP also didn't mention a size.

                  • @eug: He said its for his Mrs, Most women wear smaller size.

        • Mine lasts about 2 days.

    • +5

My Watch Ultra lasts about 4-5 days

    • +2

Nahhh! My 6 lasted about 2 and ultra 3ish with always on display

    • +2

Mine reliably lasts a full day no matter the usage. I dont like sleeping with it, so it charges at night. Works well for me.

    • +2

I can usually get a little under 2 days on mine and I wear it all day and to sleep. I only take it off to shower, but by the time I'm done it's fully charged.

But yeah, given the price I'd want to be able to go a little longer in between charges. They took away the feature to use reverse wireless charge on the back of a Samsung phone, so I need to always remember to bring the charger with me.

    • +1

watch 7 BT 44mm user here, had it for 5 months now after upgrading from the watch 4 classic.
Battery lasts 2+ days with all health tracking functions on and screen set to tilt to wake. To be fair I expected more from it coming from the watch 4 but to be fair it's much faster and very light on the wrist. Have a fake Speigen bezel on mine to protect the screen but really wished they kept the rotating bezel from the 4 and 6 classics.
overall not a bad watch and not much on the android side can match the full feature list.

    • My 5 Pro lasts 3 days with always-on display. I'd upgrade, but everything is a downgrade apart from the 7 Ultra, and I'm not paying 1300 for a watch.

    • And are stupidly laggy

@Horizon7: I told them I can't use Shop app 5% as it doesn't work for SSD and they created a 10% off for the SSD

              • +1

@alo1234: I tried the same reason but they said the shop app 5% is not stackable with the secret sale purchase

        • and they did restock or put it as Pre-Order

    • Thanks for your comment, I did the same thing but used my Samsung points for another $16.45 off on top.

    • +1

I got it my friend to buy it on their samsung phone for Samsung Pay discount

Finally, 2024 prices for mainstream ssd

Note that you do not need "Samsung" app on their phone and can just do check out on the store website.

      • Can you provide more info on this? I am trying to get a monitor, and the extra 10% for Samsung Pay is significant, but I don't own a Samsung phone/watch.

When I select it, it asks to enter the email address (Samsung account ID), if I find someone, what happens next? Does it then just approve to the payment page, or would they actually need to pay for it?

        • +1
          • Install Samsung app on your phone
          • Ask live chat that extra 5% discount for using Samsung app, is not appearing for SSD (You need to say this exact context for them to generate you a 10% discount code)
          • Ask your friend to go on Samsung store to add item you want to buy, add two codes when it asks for it at checkout "SECRET4" & your 10% discount code from live chat.
          • Select Samsung Pay when it ask you to choose pay method and it should give you extra 10% discount at the bottom of the page before charging the card on file

I am not sure if you need login to Samsung account ID on Samsung app since the discount code from live chat might overwrite bonus 5% discount for using Samsung app to buy from their store but use fresh account that never brought stuff before for stacking discounts.

Yes. Whoever is paying via Samsung Pay, will have to pay on your behalf as it is charged from the connected pay method on their Samsung pay

    • +1

For me, it's showing $330 after the SECRET4 code and Samsung pay -10%. What am I doing wrong?

      • same

      • +4

You guys missed the 10% off code from chat. You can get one from them by asking nicely haha

        • Damn, I didn't know!

        • Did they ask you for a compliance plate pic to generate the code?

      • +2

Get the 10% discount code from chat for storage. Mention loyalty voucher or 10% discount voucher

        • +1

didn't work for me. they gave me a voucher for everything else but not storage

          • +2

@Horizon7: Mine works for storage, but now I cannot add the 4tb SSD to my cart.

Edit* Definitely out of stock, support suggested I just buy the 9100 Pro for $839, absolutely useless.

            • +1

@iveljetorox: oh well, guess il wait another year for $299.59 or less…. (profanity)

            • @iveljetorox: Same. 9100 pro is too expensive for what it is.

              • +1

@Schrodinger: Back in stock mate for a preorder, u got it down to $299.59

                • @iveljetorox: @iveljetorox
How exactly does one get the preorder 4TB down to $299.59?
By using samsung pay or with a combination of what exactly?

Can we use points from an previous phone purchase at all?

                  • @zztrader: Yes you can use points, I used Samsung Pay as well as a loyalty code that support gave me for 10% off. With points it'd go even lower.

                    • @iveljetorox: @iveljetorox

Thanks for the update mate, I got a voucher from chat, I was tired and hungry though and had to have some dinner, I left my cart with one 4TB inside and came back and its gone, I cannot seem to add another 4TB to my cart :(

Ah well will try later is its possible.

                • +2

@iveljetorox: Thanks! Got one (strange enough it wasn't marked as pre order and scheduled for delivery on the 15th)

I couldn't use my Samsung Pay account for some reason - had to use wife's - so no 6% loyalty points for this but still 299 is a great deal.
Even lower for those who managed to get Samsung Pay to work with their platinum/gold reward accounts.

                  • +1

@Schrodinger: Good to hear mate, just installed mine so it must not have been a preorder purchase. Samsung are good with delivery times if nothing else.

                    • +1

@iveljetorox: Yeah I got a S10 ultra (tab) recently and it was also supposed to be a pre order. The mail and everything said it's a pre order and ETA was around a month away. The tab got delivered pretty much the next day.

  • -1

I would have purchased a few items if Samsung wasn't such a shitty company to deal with. Total scamsum.

  • Can't preorder 2TB SSD unlike the 1 or 4TB. Only Get stock alert…

    • -2

Went to buy a 4TB and chat said out of stock.

He asked me if I want t a 2TB as they are still to be had he said. I dont know whats going on over there in Sam Land, so much a secret your not allowed to buy one even while the the so called secret sale is still on, apparently.

      • I dont know whats going on over there in Sam Land, so much a secret your not allowed to buy one even while the the so called secret sale is still on, apparently.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase "while stocks last" in relation to sales. Stores usually have x amount of product allocated to a sale, once they've sold that amount the product is no longer available. They may or may not decide to allocate more stock to the sale after that. This is a very normal thing when it comes to sales.

        • Just another dizzy clause, "while stocks last"

Some posters were saying the 2TB was out of stock, then its back in stock, then its Pre Order, they even tried to sell me one when I was after a 4TB one.

All I am saying is, its in stock, its not and then maybe it is or maybe it isn't. It comes down to timing and luck, that too is very normal when it comes to purchasing "things!

          All the best!

  • I need some suggestion

    Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) 4G 4GB/ 128GB - $519.35

    or

    Tab S9 FE 5G 8GB/ 256GB Grey - $714.35

    Which one is better?

    • I would suggest you to get Lenovo pro pad for 700 something from aliexpress. It has no SD card but has Snap gen 3. Also all other things looks to be good.

      • Didn't notice there is Lenovo tablet in Aus.

I thought Samsung is the only option left if I'm not going to get an iPad.

        Thanks mate.

        • You have pixel tab too

      • hello can you please share the exact model of the Lenovo? Most of them I see are around 300-400 something

    • Galaxy Tab S9 128GB WIFI model is $747 after price matching Amazon at Officeworks. Much better if you can deal with no 5G.

      • This model was sub $500 last month

  • Damn all the good SSD with 2 tb are gone.
Got 2 x 1 tb . But it's good as I actually need two SSD for two different device. Good deal.
Anone know when this will be ready as it is a pre-order?

Also got the 2.5 kw ac for $566 which seems to be ok price

    • +2

      Around 02 May 2025 iirc for 2tb & 4tb

  • 990 pro 2tb & 4tb can be pre-ordered now, ship from 02/05.

  • man what an effort to get that extra 10% from live chat, they claimed the 5% first purchase discount was for mobile devices only, which I claimed wasn't made very clear. They then wanted to know exactly was model I was wanting & to provide a photo of a compliance sticker for a samsung device I owned before generating a code. I ended up giving them a screenshot of the about screen on my S24U. They then wanted to put the item in my cart & process the order for me. Then was wanting the order # to make sure it all went through. I'm all for good customer service but that was a bit too much.

    Anyway I've got a 990 Pro 4Tb coming for $299

    • I also had to send them screenshot of my S24U about page. But once you get the code, it'll work later too. I got the code y day and used it today for 990 Pro 4TB.

    • +1

Mate, i can't even get them to give me a code. I tried the line above about the 5% off code not working, but they insisted that there was only a code for TV's and Fridges. Then i tried to get the loyalty code for having a Samsung Phone and we just kept going in circles about the code for Fridges.

    • If you mean the 5% first purchase on app, it says off eligible mobile products. The codes are meant for existing owners as a loyalty bonus so sending them evidence is pretty standard as they are aware of people just claiming they had devices to get codes.

    • I got 3 codes from them just like that lol, the further -10% code via chat is promoted on one of the page too

  • +1

Lovely! Managed to snag 2 x 4TB 990 Pro for $599 using the SECRET 4 code, a 10% off that I got in chat and 10% off by paying using Samsung Pay. Very happy!

  • Missed out on the 4tb …apparently it's not the 2tb that's oos

    • BoozeUp in A Brewry Not Possible with SK ?

    • +1

All 3 sizes kept changing as they added more stock and sold out again.

  • -1

4tb back in stock about 1 hour left, purchased 2x 2tb
