How does this compare to the previously discounted Bezzera Domus Galatea?
Both are $1999 from the same seller.

hey charmandad , they both have similarities and differences - in different ways. Essentially, the Bezzera Domus Galatea has more of a distinctive retro design with rounded edges, while the Magica has a more traditional compact design. Both of the machines have the E61 group head and a 2-litre heat-exchanger boiler, pretty well ensuring consistent espresso quality across both. The Magica stands out with its classic lever controls for steam and water however, providing more of a hands-on experience. Another difference is that the Domus is an older model when compared with the Magica.

They are both Hx machines as well. This is a vibratory pump also like the galatea.
I'd say magica is better simply because of the lever steam and water

      • consistent, is the key-word

  • Good machine. Good deal thanks op

is it too greedy to ask for a pid at this price point? even tho 2k for a e61 hx is pretty good, i still wish for a pid in place…

    • +2

in after a dual boiler, have had the breville for 5 years now but something more hands on would be good, have had HX in the past (rancilio).

    • Nah, that price for a single boiler hx with no PID seems a bit much. I think you're paying for the design and for a lower volume non-commodity machine.

      • yea i agree a lot of money went to the iconic e61 brew head and other decoration details. but an e61 is an e61 for full mark style point (and a bit better thermo stability) isn't it XD

How can the reseller sell the unit at this price given it is an imported unit .. this is not woolworths or coles selling out of date carrots..that is a MASSIVE cut.. how is it possible unless they were making a MASSIVE profit before this reduction.. this has nothing to do with the quality of the machine..which is great and the price…which sounds too good…So how much were you making before the price reduction OP and who is taking the hit..you guys or the supplier and more importantly why ? I realise sea containers have become cheaper now and with the new Jakarta route faster …So what next shall we see the Lelits discounted to 900 ?

No one sells at a loss ..even if 30% is your margin, as is generally, the machine currently is discounted more than that..which begs the question why is that ? Not asking for specifics just curious as to what is happening .the machine and price are great btw.. nothing to do with that..I am just curious..and would appreciate if you could answer how can you guys afford to sell stock at >30% discount..end of life, Sole coming in, getting rid of old stock should not matter unless you have pre Covid stocks since transport costs went astronomical.. obviously you could just say f off and that is fine but I am genuinely curious

No comments from jv please only the OP

hey shaidas , I can't comment 100% accurately as I only perform work for the company and don't have access to their pricing and everything related to that - however I do know that this is clearance stock. The machines themselves are perfectly good, there are no defects - there are just newer models available these days which people purchase over these. At a guess, I'd say that these are priced at wholesale/break-even cost to clear the remaining units. :)
