  • Can these only be used with the number purchased it with? or can I give it to a friend as long as they are with an optus provider?

    • +3

Any sim from any optus provider

    • Any optus reseller network should work fine.

    • At the top it does say unlocked phone. So I am assuming it might work on any operator.

  • +2

tbh I know guidelines and whatnot, but this really should get to be it's own deal since the OP is marked as out of stock, despite there being 3 or 4 different ones still in stock on it.

    • Huh, it is it's own deal?

      • +6

There's a deal that was posted 5 or so hours ago, for an Oppo phone via this $1 deal. It went out of stock and the deal was marked as such.

However, in the write up on the deal, this phone and 3 or 4 others were linked as still being available.

In the past I've seen deals like this one get taken down as "dupes", I'm saying I think it has every reason to be it's own deal as the other is marked as out of stock, is all.

        • +7

This model isn't in the title of the other post so it's not a dupe.

        • Watchnerd is correct.

          Duplicate Guidelines:

          Exceptions:
The item is not in the title of the original deal.

          • @neil: I want this comment thread cited next time someone declares a deal to be a dupe, despite the item not being in the title.

            Good to know though!

If you got the $200 amaysim credit code these are free

  • no all plans.

  • This service is not eligible to purchase a device.

    Not for everyone I guess?

    • +1

If new customer, you need a $30 plan as minimum

      • Can I sign that up and downgrade to PAYG after before/after 28 days?

        • Yes, I believe so, but you won't have any credit carry over. So not a lot of point.

      • +1

I signedup for the $10 50GB 28 day plan and was able to buy this phone with that plan active.

        • I presume you bought the plan first, then made another order for the phone?

        • Why can't I do this? Is it because of esim?

          • @coolim: I can't either and I ordered a $10 physical SIM. $10 wasted, I suppose.

            • @delpy: I ordered 10$ 50gb physical Sim
Can't order the phone untill activate it. Wait 2-10days for delivery
Ordered 10$ e sim but selected pay g. Can't order the phone as plan isn't suitable for the offer.
Finally 3rd time ordered esim with 10$ 50 gb plan. Then ordered 3 phones one at a time. Total cost 33$

              • @Fixmyi: So, I'm guessing this is more of a case of minimum spend $31? i.e. 1x $10 SIM doesn't work but 3x $10 SIM or 1x $30 SIM works?

                • @delpy: I should have got 10 $ 50gb esim in the first go. So minimum spend could have been 11$

            • @delpy: I have asked the customer service, only can buy the phone after receiving the sim card and activation.

You can also buy a $2 sim card right away and ask customer service to activate it for you so you can buy a phone right now.

  • +3

    not for PAYG plan

  • +2

I was able to use my existing $18 plan to buy one earlier today

    • +2

      What's the $18 plan?

      • +2

        Wait $15/18GB

        Got the number mixed up

  • +2

Works with 365 day expiry plan.

    • The 365 day $10 PAYG?

      • +1

The $240 pre-paid plan, which expires after a year.

  • +1

So grab one on the $30 plan, pay $1 and cancel after 29 days?? Get the phone for $31?

    • +1

      yes

      • +2

Not bad if you wanted a cheap spam burner

    • +1

Yeah, somewhere on the webpage it saids minimum cost $31. Not sure if it's worth it because it's locked to Optus.

      • +1

Can’t you code off the unlock?

    • +7

OR buy $10 plan, Select eSim to start the account and then buy it for $1
      Total : $11

      • +2

You can do this in a single order as a new customer if you are creative…

        • +1

How'd you get this working? I've tried a few combinations but can't get it to show up?

          • -1

@johnn: Think it’s an image fake

          • @johnn: For some reason, I was unable to do it on the app, works as described on a computer

      • +1

        Thanks! Got it for $11

        • +1

How, does not give me the option, only $30 plan when selecting phone as new customer

          • @BatmanAU: You need to buy the plan first as a separate order, set it up, and then buy the phone with 'use an existing…'

          • +1

@BatmanAU: Yep, I signed up on the 32GB plan (current promo reduces from $30 to $10) using eSim, then logged in and ordered the $1 phone

            • @iIVIi: Do you actually have the service running on a esim phone?and I don’t have a phone esim compatible.

I just want the phone for $11 bucks lol.

              • +1

@cloudy: No, I just signed up and then logged in straight away

      • +3

Got it working… $11…! That "ozbargain" feeling lol

  • Can anyone explain why the would do this?$1 is definitely below their cost.

    • +3

Mate. Market share. They want to look good on paper.

    • It is optus brand. How do you know they didn't get these for free anyway

    • +4

Probably because they don't have 5G and there's a newer model that does.

    • Also because it's locked to Optus

    • +1

      Locked to the Opus network.

    • +1

They want to leak your data

  • +1

Thank you. Missed the other "sweeter" deal but this is still good for what I need. Food delivery slave.

  • -8

    Got the Moto g54 5g for $9.

    • +1

      do tell how

    • How?

      • +5

        @chadleyshe

It was on special for $209 and they had the $200 off any phone code from Amaysim , it's no longer on special or even in stock.

    • When?

  • Is this locked to Optus in Australia? Would it work on other mobile networks when travelling overseas?

    • +1

Only via Optus roaming, so good for receiving SMS. But not other SIMs, obviously.

    • Locked to get this price.

  • +1

lol cheapest phone ever for these specs no brainer

  • +11

For those who want a little more info, the phone appears to be a rebranded ZTE Blade A7s 2020. Seems pretty garbage, and I don't think there's any community support to save it, but a dollar is probably still a fair price!

    • +4

thanks i was trying to find it on Antutu.. with your input i have.. it is indeed garbage but hey $1 when all my Redmis are failing blacklists left, right and centre is a good deal.

      • +2

3G shutdown caused me to buy phones too,…but not this $1 locked phone.

      • +1

OzB hack - Tape this to the back of your Redmi & hotspot it. Problem solved.

    • Thanks, get 1 for coffee table browsing !

    • +8

At this point, it's a $1 cable and charger with free phone.

      • +2

Think it comes with headphones too

    • Hey, I saw that this ZTE Blade A7s 2020 is 164.7 x 77.4 x 8.2 mm, Weight 182 g. Info on the Optus x pro says it is 156.7 x 72.8 x 8.15mm 150g.

      • I’m convinced the specs on the Optus phone are wrong tbh, but you’re probably right! Oops…

    • Bro, its a buck. Who cares if it gets saved

  • Meh I read it as Oppo X Pro and got excited for few seconds

  • Thanks i got it for $1 cos im still on a $60 365-day Amaysim plan for my main phone and was able to use that.

  • +1

The Samsung Galaxy S22 for $500 is not bad…

    • A mate just grabbed it for $299 with the $200 off code, no brainer

    • Confused with Samsung Galaxy A35. I have $200 off code . Which one to buy ?

      • +1

mate the S22, no contest. It benchmarks DOUBLE what the A35 does.

look at what the discount is on the two phones:

        The A35 is $70 off
        The S22 is $650 off

        • Thanks Mate and without code @BIG W ->Motorola Moto G85 approx same price 300ish! Do you think S22 is still better then these ones? (Keep in mind it's not S22 ultra :D)

          • +2

@Ankit4632: It's still no contest at all, the S22 is a million times better than either of the options you mentioned dude. If i had a $200 voucher i'd be buying it right now, but alas i used mine for a Motorola G54 for $30 a few months back.

actually on second thoughts you buy the motorola for yourself and let me have your $200 code :D

          • @Ankit4632: same, interested to know, even though s22 was is flagship, its 2 years old, and these new cheapish phones from moto are pretty damn good specs

            • +1

@AtomuKirin: Even if they were on par with specs (and they aren't, the Samsung is way, way, way better) the real drawback of cheap Motos is their cameras. That alone should tip you into Samsung territory. And i say that as someone who thinks Motos have taken the crown as the best performance-per-dollar prospect from Xiaomi and a Moto user myself.

              • @Iggemo: It is said these exynos s22 have TERRIBLE battery life. I was thinking getting one but complaints on battery life seem to be rife on the internet
