    • +1

oh yes! Ams coming home 😍

    • +1

I think your prices for the A1s aren't quite right? Maybe didn't copy paste correctly, but you have the A1 mini combo costing more than the A1 combo

    • god damn, i just bought 2 complete hotend from them about 2 hours ago, anyone know if they refund the price difference of the product, their bot said yes for the printer not sure about the accessories anyone have any ideas?

      • The price adjustment note in the faq only specifies printers but give it a shot when it starts.

    • Thanks!

    • They never discount the AMS addon?

      • they are

AMS $399 from $535, extra 10% off for more than one
        AMS Lite $329 from $399

      • There's a first time for everything

    • +2

Haven't seen the X1C on Amazon. Not sure why they haven't stocked it there.

    • +1

Is it time for me to empty my wallet for a P1S?

      • +2

        Yes

      • yes indeed

    • Finnnnne

    • brah just what I was waiting for I think it's time to pull the trigger

    • A1 or A1 mini? Hobbyist and design student.

      • Get what you can afford but get it with an AMS if you can. Even if doing single colour prints you can have four colours/materials on the go without having to mess around unloading and loading filament each time. The minis smaller build plate is the only real limitation but may not be an issue for what you print. I’d say most of my prints are doable on the mini over two sessions if necessary.

        • -1

I personally don't like the idea of the waste that the AMS creates, also I don't really have the budget for the AMS. I don't mind loading/unloading filament as I used to do it with a cheap 3D printer (it died cos the nozzle clogged and I couldn't undo the tip). I'm tempted to go for the A1 "just in case"..

          • +1

@buyer-123: honestly there is less waste with the ams as it doesn't cut as much and nozzle empty vs manual.

I thought the same as you when I bought mine, and ended up buying the ams later. you can always sell the AMS but rarely buy it at a discount. Especially a discount like when they're bundled.

Def get the A1 vs the mini. Bigger build plate just gives more flexibility. Its a small cost in the long run.

          • +2

@buyer-123: There are more reasons for thr AMS than just multicolour

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15820827/redir

          • @buyer-123: Depends what you’re doing and if it has value. I went P1S with AMS. So far the reasons I like the AMS:

            1. easy loading/changing of filament
            2. Load two rolls the same and it automatically changes to the second when the first runs out
            3. Multicolour - text in black on a white body, very few changes but great effect
            4. Multicolour - printing fun things for my nieces and nephew like bluey etc
            5. Using PETG as the interface layer for ABS or PLA for easy support removal

In my case I have the funds but not the time, so I value things that save me time. Ended up with a second P1S to churn through the multi plate 12hr prints.

This weekend I’m making a cake topper which needs at least 5 colours, and I’m putting both AMS on the one machine to do it.

If you’re happy to load/change manually and don’t care about the other stuff then get the bigger A1 standalone for sure.

      • +1

A1 if you can afford but the mini is no slouch

      • +2

Get the bigger one. One day you're going to want to print more than 18cm and the mini will be a limit.

I'm not sold on the idea of ams for the A1s as they don't function as dry boxesnand you end up leaving filament out for months. They also look clunky AF.

I have a X1 AMS but almost never to multicoloured prints. No regrets though.

        • PLA can be left out for a long time without issue. I think the whole keep it dry thing is overhyped in that regard especially if you don’t live in a tropical area.

But since the A1 can print PETG which some prefer, it’s a very valid point. That stuff prints like crap after a few weeks out.

          • +1

@MetalPhreak: I totally agree on the keeping it dry thing, I have noticed that Bambu owners really obsess about this to an unhealthy degree, and start egging each other on to drop $200 on dedicated filament dryers. Probably because everything else about the printers is so easy that they need to find something else to worry about.

    • Will amazon price match these?

      • Should

    • Does this work for the print then all challenge?? I saw a guy on tiktok printing all the Pokemons

      • Yes

  • +2

ugh I took too long getting all the tables in.

    @mods, can you merge - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872250

  • +2

@SilentDissident full discount table is available on the T&C page.

P1P is $679, from $749 but no discount on P1P combo, only P1S combo down to $1199 from $1299

  • +2

They also have a few new products releasing on Nov 12/19

    • New build plate - most likely an official version of the Biqu Cryo-grip cold plate.
    • Flexible material for AMS
    • 'just like real wood' filament
    • Biqu Cryo-grip cold plate- haven't come across this before and just looked it up. Cannot for the life of me figure how this is different from the now discontinued Cool/Engineering plate that BL used to include with their printers.

Do you know what the difference is?

      • Wasnt the bambu cool plate a sticker that wore out?

        • Yeah I think it's a sticker, but mine's been going great. Came with spares too, iirc.

  • +5

Oh dear. Your post is clearly bettered edited. I didn't released there was more details in the T&C. I was planning to edit as the details became clearer. If the mods want to merge or delete its fine by me

  • Thanks.

  • Is it worth getting the AMS?

    • Yes

      • multicolour is the obvious reason
      • multi material prints: pla with petg support interface
      • auto rollover - use up leftover rolls and auto goes to next spool
      • 4 spools ready to go
      • convenience

There are ways around reducing waste with multicolour prints
      - print multiples
      - purge to another object
      - designs in multiple parts

    • In addition to the benefits @impoze highlighted it worth pointing out that this is first time ever there's been discount on the AMS

      • +1

They've had a discount this year, 10% for AMS & 20% for the lite

  • Those are some decent discounts. I bought a x1c in the last sale, 350 off that price is great.

  • +4

I've been eyeing the P1S for ages but I can't quite feel slightly disappointed - I was hoping for a little more discounts ahaha

Still probably am gonna buy it the minute the sale opens

  • For someone's first 3D printer what would you recommend?
A1 is the obvious answer but don't want to get that and think 'oh it doesnt do X I wish I'd known'?

    • A1 for sure

P1s is enclosed and theoreticaly takes up less space but for everyday materials like PLA, PETG and TPU they will both print the same.

See comment above on reasons to get the AMS from the start - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15820827/redir

      • Wouldn't an enclosure be required to print PETG on the A1? I was under the impression that printing PETG without one is an absolute nightmare.

        • Nop, you are thinking abs

        • No, PETG issues are usually moisture so you want to dry before use and keep it packed away unless in use.

        • Nope. PETG is about as easy to print as PLA.

It's really easy mode, I don't knoow why people think that PETG is in any way tricky.

    • Sale does last long enough that you can start out that you start out with the A1 and see if you like it and still have time want more before end of the sale 😛

  • +4

Also alittle disappointed with the P1S discount, was hoping for a bigger discount after the Amazon sale.

    • -1

The sale that occurred when they were originally listed on Amazon was confirmed by Bambu as a price error.

      • Im talking about the sale/price last week.
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/871350

$1299 to $1199 thats a 8% discount, this is not the"Black Friday" level discounts most of us would have been expecting.

  • +2

Also it looks like its worth it to pay in USD if you have a no-fee card? P1S Combo is USD749=AUD1116, instead of the AUD1199 that's listed on sale

    • Ooo didn’t know this was an option! Thanks

      • Bank usually tacts on a fee with bambu site without telling you, Not sure why tho.
I use wise and dont get the fee.

    • +2

There's a good chance I'm losing my marbles but where do you change to USD? Only thing i could find was switching to the US site but then it won't let me add an AU address.

    • +4

How do you pay in USD?

    • I'd assume your looking at the global store which doesn't ship to Australia and doesn't include tax in the prices.

  • pretty disappointing for the P1S. i had expected a larger discount.

    • +6

These are stupidly popular, high demand printers. There isn't much incentive to provide discounts in the first place.

  • Are they shipped locally? Will these attract additional import tax and GST?

    • +1

Bambu has an AU warehouse. Generally items will be shipped from the AU warehouse. If you look at the order info section of any product page it will say where it ships from. Generally Australian orders will shipped from Australia but I think I have seen some items that ship from China when looking at various Bambu products but the orders are still processed here so prices would include GST

  • +1

Was a little thrown off by the 'new price' of the AMS being $599, but that seems to be an error in the post. Might be time to grab myself an AMS at $399, just need to somehow convince myself that it is worth it.

    • +1

Yes I made an error. Thank you for pointing it out

  • Unclear if the for the free spool for the purchase of 4 filament refills, if we will need to add a spool to our order or if we just order the refills and bambu will throw in the spool

  • Anyone know what plate the X1C actually comes with? A rather weird spec;
Build Plate Surface Bambu Textured PEI Plate or Bambu Cool Plate (Pre-installed, Random, Both compatible with Micro Lidar)

Does that mean you must buy the dual surface plate in order to have both?

  • -4

Prices seem to be jacked up. Been eyeing the X1C combo, which was sitting at ~$1800. Now it is $2219 within the discount.

    • +4

No the combo was never 1800. It's 1869 with the discount in this sale.

      • Yeah it's been $2219 for months. I can't remember seeing it less than that this year.

    • +2

      Combo was never 1800.

Combo price is 2200ish. I've been watching these prices for the last 6 months.

  • +2

Alright my Bambu brethren - got our son the K1C for his birthday last month and have been slowly learning the ins and outs and as everyone easily predicted, have been bitten by the bug. Been trying to avoid it but the P1S Combo is coming home during this sale. I've been researching and reading every post on the internet but just gonna throw it to the brains trust here. Bambu offer a bit of a discount on some accessories when purchasing the P1S…do I need them?

    • Anti Vibration Feet - $10.20
    • Bambu Hotend - P1 Series - $39.90
    • Bambu Dual-Texture PEI Plate with Glue - $63.69
    • +2

None of the above are terribly important.

Feet- useful if you have multiple printers all sitting on the same shelving interfering with each other via harmonic vibrations.

Hotend- yeah, if you jam your current one. Which has happened to me twice in 4 years of printing, and if often fixable via a cold pull rather than a total replacement. So maybe get this.

Plates- you can get cheaper ones from other sources.

    • +1

Get the 0.6mm hotend. 0.6mm nozzles not only print faster but they provide better adhesion and strength for a small tradeoff of resolution. I design and print mainly tools and functional parts and 90% of the time I don't need the resolution of 0.4mm.

      • Thanks for the replies here!

I'll add the 0.6 hotend and nozzle and shop around for plates depending on what price they end up coming in at. I'll likely end up having it on a desk with our K1C so I'll add the feet just in case.

Down the rabbit hole we go!

  • A1 vs flashforge adventurer 5M?
    For someone just starting out

    • +2

A1 (or anything bambu lab) 10000%

  • +3

Just bought 2 x ams last week at full price. Dammit.

Edit - submit a ticket if you've purchased after 5th October for a price difference refund https://support.bambulab.com/en/mobile

  • The sales prices are still more expensive than the normal US prices..

    • +1

What's your point- do you live in the land of freedom?

      • -2

Point is I should've bought one last month when I was there.

        • +3

          Absolutely fascinating.

          • -1

@rumblytangara: Maybe Ill get one in January if they have sales then.

You know you can buy things outside of here yeah?

            • +1

              @koalabargains: Please, tell me more!

(Two of my printers are from overseas, Europe and the USA)

              • -1

                @rumblytangara: Fascinating.

                What was your point then?

                • +1

@koalabargains: Exactly. Who cares, on an Australian bargain site?

Ooh, let's all fly overseas to buy a printer and save a hundred bucks!

                  • -2

                    @rumblytangara: Whoa whoa whoa.

                    Look at YOU mister moneybags!

(Two of my printers are from overseas, Europe and the USA)

Did you fly there in your private jet? Why are you even on this site- you're very posh, arent you?

                    • +1

@koalabargains: You're really missing the point of this, both the site and how to dish it out, aren't you?

(Nobody cares that you forgot to buy a 3D printer when you were overseas, it's totally irrelevant to most the population.)

    • Not when you consider that US prices don't include tax.

  • So I’m trying to decide between the p1s and x1c. Has anyone had experience with both and could compare them? It’s nearly double to get the x1c, is the ai and lidar stuff worth it?

    • I know people with both. They love their X1C but can't warrant the price differential based on the hardened parts and lidar. They mainly comment on the camera quality as the nice to have. You can easily buy an IP camera and print a mount from the store if that really bothers you. TP Link Tapo is the most common and often costs around $30.

      • +1

You can get a solid hardened steel upgrade set for the P1S on AliExpress for about $40 too, which makes the price difference even harder to justify

        • Thanks. I’m still undecided. But I think the p1s seems more attractive for the money.

          • @uncyspam: Yeah, the P1S certainly seems far better value than the X1C to me. I have watched plenty of videos comparing the two and it just never seems to make sense why the X1C costs so much more. I see a lot of people in here talking about the screen and critiquing the P1S screen, but with how little you even need to use that screen/interface, using some buttons to navigate the UI is perfectly acceptable.

@bondy28: These are the ones I got from AliExpress and they have been excellent. Package 11 for the P1S for the hardened hotend with spare nozzles and then the Upgrade Gear option for the hardened extruder gear. Both arrived within a week too which was a nice little bonus.
