    Good price.
I got a 10% off offer on P1S accessories but then it wouldn’t work on extra nozzles.

    • +1

      The P1s wouldn't work with P1s nozzles?

      • +3

No the discount turned out not to apply. They said “the promotion has changed” or something

  • +26

It has been this price since June, the sale price never went away, becoming standard price.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/849258

Next real sale is probably Black Friday.

They have also announced that the new printer is Q1 2025, and it's a new flagship above X1 so no risk of buying printer now and then a new model replacing it.

    • +3

These prices get posted every month or 2 between Amazon and bambu and continue to get upvotes when it's just normal pricing.
      I don't get it…

      • -1

Probably because the "normal price" sounds too good to be true (for some).

  • +1

$1360 on Amazon delivered right now also https://www.amazon.com.au/Bambu-Lab-P1S-Materials-Precision/…, obviously a tad more expensive but handy for anyone with credit or access to various gift cards

    • Did u get one yet 😎

      • Haha I’m torn between buying at this price and waiting to see what Black Friday offers.

That lure of multi colour is slowly overcoming me

        • +4

          Go on mate
          You deserve it

Besides, it’s good for the economy

        • +3

I haven't yet done a proper multicolour print but man having 4 spools ready to go when I print from the app is so nice.

          • @theguyrules: It’s true… until you’re like me and end up going doh.. I need to change 4 rolls.. ehhhh I cbf

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Also true. At that point you just buy another AMS right?

              • +3

@theguyrules: I hate you both I've decided ;). Like the devil and angel on my shoulder except two devils

                • +3

                  @MBix: Sorry mate. Enjoy!!

                • @MBix: AMS is so convenient even if you don't print multicolor.

                  • +2

@DmytroP: Its also good for PLA with PETG Support interface, super clean.

                    • @impoze: Thats about all i use the AMS for on my x1c

                    • @impoze: PLA and PETG support interface looks awesome. I didn't know about that until I read your comment. Now I'm tempted to get one of these just for that to replace my Tevo Torando!

                    • @impoze: I'm going to have to try that

  • Can I use this for the pokemon print them all challenge???

  • +4

They have been this price for months now. It's a never ending sale, RIP if you paid RRP.

    • +1

Has anyone really paid rrp in the last 12 months for these?

  • +1

Just got my a1 mini last Friday has been printing this whole weekend love it

    • Pog, mine's currently mid-shipping.
What's been your favourite print so far?

      • +3

In place scissor lift by whopper Prints. Using some random pla and just click and go. The quality are phenomenal. I used to custom build corexy printers like 8 years ago. This is just a no brainer even for enthusiasts.

Toys aside, I Will be printing some custom respirators for my welding helmets.

    • What have you been printing if you don't mind me asking?

  • I paid $1069 for my P1S back in January, but at the time the RRP was $1399… Absolutely no regrets, incredible machine.

  • +4

Very mixed feelings aobut the P1S combo. Bought a P1S w/ AMS the last deal and I must say that I've been experiencing a bit of buyers remorse. Fantastic printer, great quality prints at unbelievable speeds, however I've printed a grand total of 1 multicolour print this entire time. There is just so much waste/poop from having to purge at each layer height, and most of our prints are functional, so really, we're only really printing with one colour 99.9% of the time.

    • +3

I'm looking at buying a P1S with AMS if they're discounted during Black Friday sales. I'd just use it to save effort changing between filament types instead of multicolour. I would only do multicolour if I'm printing a bunch of the same object on the one bed to save on waste.

      • True, though if you don't mind being there to watch the print, it's straightforward enough to manually pause the print to swap filament, without the additional cost and clunkiness of an AMS. The one time I printed multicolour was exactly as you described, 10 of the same thing on the bed. However it's very rare that anyone would want mass produce a print; perhaps more for someone selling multiple prints?

        • Oh I just meant that I'd be able to have different materials ready to go without manually swapping spools. I don't see the AMS as a multicolour add-on, it means Automatic Material System so I'd use it that way.

You could always sell the AMS on it's own if you aren't finding benefit in it.

        • Until there is 100+ changes across a 24 hour print

    • +1

I have an A1 combo, and also mostly avoid multicolour prints with lots of filament changes. But the AMS is still amazing for just being able to have 4 colours/filament types ready to go at any given time. You could also look into flushing into infill and/or into an object, which will at least allow you put some of the waste to use.

    • +6

Purge into infill or support or another model

    • Eh. As a neptune owner I'm very envious of the ams. If anything that's the one thing you can't really replicate without a bambu printer unless you spend a fortune (in money or fiddling with an ercf). I'd buy it in a heart beat if it was available for anything else. Colour changes (even a once off layer base change) are incredibly annoying without it.

      • I ordered the Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo from Ali for something like $570 delivered if you're looking for a cheaper option. Still yet to ship - the reviews are basically that software is a bit underwhelming but the hardware is comparable.

        • the hardware had a few quirks to iron out, you can get it for a good price with ebay codes.

          • @impoze: I might have missed those codes - could I kindly ask you to elaborate?

            • +1

              @Moondog: I had the normal anycubic kobra… have fun not printing… :(

    • +1

I still haven't done an actual multi-colour print yet, but I'm regularly using the P1S with AMS combo in order to do automatic filament runout swaps. It's worth it for that alone, I can set and forget, particularly for overnight prints.

Plus the relatively airtight seal of the AMS is also fantastic for keeping filament drier than it otherwise would be in the open air.

      • +1

I have so little odd length rolls because of this.

    • +1

Funny thing is, I think it's completely worth it and I have printed a grand total of one item win multi colour. I just love having the ability to easily switch between filaments without even having to stand up…

    • +1

Don't discount using the AMS for supports either - if you're printing PETG use a PLA interface or vice versa - you can have zero support gap (i.e fully supported) and it just peels off when cool.

I use this feature more than colour printing.

    • it's great when it works, but the wastage is pretty annoying and I find there are quite a few issues with the AMS.

considering that most printer issues are with filament feeding, it is a miracle that they can feed/retract so much filament as well as it does - but you do get issues…

  • +1

I'm tossing up between the A1 Mini and the A1. How often do people run into an issue with the smaller bed size on the A1 Mini (180x180x180mm)?

    • +4

      Defs get the A1

    • +1

How long is a piece of string? Some people only print small things. Some people print big things.

I couldn't get by with a mini. A friend who prints practically never needs anything bigger.

    • Have an A1 mini, P1s and Elegoo neptune 4 max…. Printers for all occasions 😅

    • Personally my idea is like this , I will get into the eco system first by spending the least amount money with single color this a1 mini. And if I likes it I will by buying p1s with ams so a proper setup. I just feel like the ams from a1 series are just not as coherent system as the p1 series

    • -1

As someone who has and regularly uses both, I say, get both.

    • Someone I know got both X1C & A1 Mini, he ends up using the A1 Mini most of the time. Also if at one point you want to bring a 3D printer along with you (to your workplace or to a friend's house etc.) then the Mini is the better since it's very portable. Btw, the X-axis gantry on the Mini goes on a linear rail so I found it's quite robust despite its cantilever design.
However, I myself had designed heaps of stuff that exceeds the A1 mini bed size so I decided to get the A1 instead, pretty happy with it so far.

      • I've never taken a 3d printer to a friend's house.

        • +2

The mini is tiny though and can even print the carrying handle.

Could be fun to do small customised prints at a party or gathering

        • +2

          I've never taken a 3d printer to a friend's house.

Because you don't have an A1 Mini?

          • @bio: Got a printer smaller than a mini, fully enclosed with handles. Never taken one to anyone else's house, we have better things to do that wait multiple hours for a print to finish.

Just print at home, take the printed object over. So much easier.

The only reason to take a printer out is if you selling stuff in a market and want to use it to drum up sales.

          • @bio: dont have friends. ;)

idk, just seems like a feature ive never looked for in a 3D printer.

      • +1

Wild owning an x1c and a mini and using the mini most of the time..

I have both but the x1c is superior is every way (speed, print quality, size of the print, enclosure for ABS etc.)

    • As others have said, you'll most likely print stuff that's smaller than 180mm the majority of the time; however, when you do need something bigger, that's when the bigger bed size is invaluable.

Go for the A1 I reckon.

  • Got an A1 a few weeks ago and it's been excellent so far.
Hard to argue at the current price and agree the AMS is excellent, you can basically run a roll right out and as long as you have another roll of the same type ( or tell the printer it is) it just swaps and carries on, no worrying about if you have enough filament left over.

I've been printing these with mine for friends and family:

  • +2

    Wish the X1C was reduced.

    • +2

Errr, why the downvotes? I too am waiting for the X1C to be a little cheaper….

      • +2

Fingers crossed for the black friday sales.

        • +2

Think the only time it has been reduced was on Black Friday

          • +2

            @Elijha: I'll take anything - I can't pay RRP!

  • I thought the Bambu Lab store was banned? But otherwise it seems like this has been the standard price for the bambu series printers, the prices of which I have been eyeing for over a month. This isn't quite a new store price

    • Why would it be banned?

  • +2

I bought P1S combo end of June. I already had Prusa MK3S+ and MM3U and I have to tell you that Bambulab is absolutely perfect. Really good price, quality. Advantages for Prusa i better customer service and possibilities of upgrades existing printer in the future. I bought one for my father in law (A1 mini with AMS lite) and he is also very happy. I really would recommend as first printer, for hobby or small business.

  • +1

Looks like the standard price? Whats the special?

  • Is there any competitor to the P/X series AMS in these price ranges these days? Prusa is still much more expensive thanks to euro shipping, as I understand it. K1C? Qidi?

    • +2

      Qidi x plus 4 just came out - AMS in Q1 2025

Creality K2 Plus with CFS shipping soon

Anycubic kobra 3 and AMS - like A1 but not as reliable yet

      • cheers for the intel.

      • prices/bang for buck comparison? happy with subjective opinions..

    • Prusa is more expensive due to European wages and in-country manufacturing, a totally different and vastly more sophisticated approach to multi material handling, and shipping costs.

K1 might be comparable, but Creality has a much less reliable pedigree. User reports are generally good.

  • +5

This has been the regular price for several months. No deal here.

Great printers though, I've got an A1 mini and P1S both with AMS. In hindsight the A1 full size with AMS is the best of both worlds.

  • +1

A heads up that once you own one, whenever you get something new, electronics, board games, anything not 3D printing related, you will do a search on Printables or Makerworld on how you can make that purchase better.

  • +1

Is the A1 a good entry point into 3d printing? Overboard perhaps or just right

Have been thinking about it for a while and this has piqued my interest

    • +2

I would say it's probably the best intro if you can afford it. Already dialed in and proven to print well without messing about with tuning. Other brands tend to require more mods/tweaks/repairs due to the lower QC and the print profiles tend to be less dialed in. Only downside with Bambu is you are locked in to using their software, it's more of a closed ecosystem. No problem if you just want to print things though.

      • Yeah, second this. If you're just wanting a plug and play printer, and don't want to learn about printers and/or tinker/mod at all, then A1 or A1 mini (if you mainly want to print small stuff) is the best entry to 3d printing.

And I don't particularly like bambu either, but I see their advantage.

      • Orca slicer exists

        • Orca slicer is basically a reskinned bambuslicer, still uses BambuLabs cloud access unless you switch to LAN mode.

      • I've been turned off 3D printing due to just not having the time or interest in tweaking and setting up the printer. If little adjustments etc are required I am capable of doing so, i'd just prefer to set and forget. Would an A1 mini be suitable for that?

    • +2

If you want your Hobby to be printing then these are a good choice.
If you want your Hobby to be fooling with the printer to enable it to print at it's best then you might choose something else.

That's not to say that you CAN'T tinker with these but that they have much less of a requirement to do so compared to some other options out there.

The A1/ Mini is hard to match value wise, especially at this price and especially for a 3D Printing newbie (and I include myself in this group).

  • +2

Looking to get an A1 mini. Is it worth waiting for Black Friday sales? How much is it likely to be?

    • I'm also keen on getting a P1S and am wondering the same thing… Do others on this group know if Bambu participates in decent Black Friday sales?

      • Yeah I haven't pulled the trigger quite yet and part of the reason is that there's a big attitude here this is the 'regular' price already and BF might go lower…but also maybe not.

        • You never know, it might also creep higher lol

  • I added extra filament cutters with my A1 order and shipping goes from $35 to $43 which unfortunately makes buying any spares uneconomical compared to getting identical ones from aliexpress at ~$10 delivered, hotends also looked good with their discount to $15 until I realise there was aftermarket screw on/off hotend/tip combos on ali with excellent reviews for cheaper and the hardened tips are like a dollar each :/

Bit of a shame really but Im a cheap ass, ill probably just sharpen the OG cutter with a strop until its unuseable and replace the hotend down the line with a hardened aliexpress one with the screw off tips if/when the original stainless .4 wears out
