Creality Ender-PLA 1.75mm Prototyping Filament Black/Grey/White 1kg $14.95 (Was $19.95) + $8 Del ($0 C&C/ In-Store) @ Jaycar

250

Updated: Set expiry to 30 April.

First received an email from Jaycar about this earlier in the week.

Free delivery on orders > $100, or $8/$14/$25 for standard/next-day/bulk orders.

Belconnen store currently only has about 10 black spools left, but the salesperson said they're expecting "over 100" spools "by around Wednesday" of all three colours.

Expiry time of the deal is according to the website ("Save $5.00 Hurry! Offer expires in 12 days" as of 29 March), but salesperson in Belconnen store indicated that the price is going to stay $14.95 "until the stock is gone".

Description from website:

This filamant is from a recognised manufacturer and is so cheap you can use it for everyday Protoyping without breaking the bank.

It is PLA so will not run well at high speeds but is well suited to slower speed printing.

Creality Ender-PLA filaments are suitable to use on your FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printer with little to no change to your regular PLA settings.

PLA (modified PolyLactic Acid) is extracted and purified from corn grain for an environmentally friendly composition. It is low odour and users report a slight, sweet aroma while printing.

Features:

  • Affordable and Cost Effective for Beginners and great for prototyping
  • Good Compatibility, Simple Operation
  • Neat Winding, Less Tangle
  • Stable Wire Diameter, No Clogging
  • Biological Material, Environmental Friendly

Printer Settings:

  • Printing Temperature: 200-220℃
  • Bed Temperature: 0-70℃
  • Recommended Printing Speed: 50 mm/s
  • Movement Speed: 90-150mm/s

I've not printed with this filament yet, so cannot comment on its quality. Reviews appear to be mostly good.

They have some discounts on other filaments too:
Creality CR-Silk PLA seem to all be either $20 or $25 off: https://www.jaycar.com.au/search?q=CR-Silk
No indication how long the Silk price is going to last.

  • Ha! I bought black and white last week for $19.95, for use in my Bambu A1. It prints well. No issues, just running general PLA profile.

I might go buy a couple more at this price.

    • It says prototyping but is there any noticable difference between this and other cheap filaments?

      • +3

Honestly calling it "protoyping" undersells how good it is. Its "supposed" to be cheap filament to test large prints with a lot of supports, to make sure you don't waste better filament checking that.

However, in my own use, Ive printed those large organizer setups using this filament, and it is fantastic. The colour is great as well.

  • i read bad reviews on this one. i'd pay $5 extra for working prints. The CR line you linked has good reviews… but i want black :(

    • i caved and got two rolls

    • I've printed with these @ 300mm/s. Artifacts? yes. But as long as you are not priniting artworks or precision parts, i'd say it's good value for the price

  • If your after good quality PLA can vouch for Siddament. https://siddament.com.au/collections/normal-pla Just finished a roll this week and for the price its good. I did have to dry it to cut down on the string through but in QLD I find most filaments you need too.

    • Would be nice if they had any stock besides brown.

I just opened an really old roll and it's great, pity blueprint 3d is no longer around

      • Restock was today plenty available right now. They are also pretty clear when the restock is due.

        • Brocky is right, i just checked siddament plain PLA. Nothing available except brown until 14th of April.

        • Not sure what is happening with siddament, no pla was released on 14th, unless they all sold out again.

This deal is listed as "expired" however Jaycar extended it until the end of April.

We've used over half a reel on an Elegoo Neptune 4 without issue.

    • I changed the expire date to 30 April.

    • Talking to my local store rep, they have been selling heaps of it.

I bought a couple of rolls of grey and have been happy with it.
