@XVX: Just bouth the P1S combo and got the parts you reccomended off aliexpress. Any reccomendations for build plates?

              • +1

@giovannip: I have just been using the stock Textured PEI build plate that came with the P1S and I have never had any issues at all with adhesion. It gives you a slightly rough appearance to the finish on the bottom of your prints, but that hasn't been an issue for me either so far. Printed a heap of different PLA variants as well as PETG and TPU on the plate and never once had an issue, so I am just sticking with the stock plate for now.

                • +1

@XVX: Thanks, maybe ill do that for now. I have tendency to get too into it and just buy a whole bunch of stuff i dont need upfront (courtesy of Ozb)

    • +2

It's also the usable vs unusable physical screen. You can work around the P1 screen via the phone or desktop app, or install a third party upgrade screen. But watch a video demo of the P1 screen- it's practically unusable.

It's a minor quality of life thing, but I appreciate it every single time I use the printer. I use the screen multiple times per print job. I really hate using the phone app- it's close to shit. Using the destop app is okay.

Seems like anyone who buys an X1 over the P1… none of them have regrets and they have forgotten about the price difference in a matter of months. Every single printer I have bought, regardless of price, I stress about how much I am spending. A month or two later, I have forgotten about it and just think about how easy it is to use.

      • Thanks. More to think about 😁 before I buy

    • +1

Plenty of videos comparing. Simple answer is larger colour touchscreen, better processor, better gears, better head, lidar, full metal enclosure, higher max bed temp, all adds up. IMHO the better screen/controls is worth a considerable amount. However, you're mainly paying for quality of life so "worth it" is a personal choice.

  • Oct.21st 2024 12:00PM (AEDT) - Dec.3rd 2024 8:00PM (AEDT)

So is it mid-day, or go by the timer on that page which is another 12 hours?

    • I came here to post this question…

      • Yeah the stated time and the countdown timer disagree. Looking the sale pages for other countries they same countdown so I am guess the countdown timer is the correct

        • Yeah, the sale start times on other countries, for example 5AM (PDT), all corrospond to 11PM AEDT. Seems we may be waiting until then.

          • +1

@Stanvx: Looks like it's meant to be the 11PM AEDT start time!

I'm probably going to buy the P1S tonight but just wanted to find out from previous owners how the build plate works. I've seen in some videos that people have a removable build plate cover - does the P1S come with this? I can see on their website they have a smooth/textured PEI build plate as an option… Should I buy this?

    • You get a removable textured one (both sides) with the printer. You only need the smooth one if you want a smooth finish. I've used mine a handful of times but prefer the textured one. You can't print direct on the bed, you always need a build plate. You might want two as its better to let the part cool and come off on its own, and the second plate lets you start another print ASAP, but its entirely not necessary.

      • Thanks for clarifying and it's interesting that you can't print directly on the bed - that's new to me. Will hold off on the build plate.

  • The $55-60 complete hotends are now $35 normal price, and then discounted further for the sale….. I regret buying some a few weeks ago now. Also missed the difference refund for my second P1S that arrived on the 4th…

    • Would you recommend grabbing a secondary hotend for someone new to 3D printing?

Have heard that using a 0.6mm is usually better than 0.4mm (that comes with the P1S, if I'm correct) as you don't need the resolution that 0.4mm provides most of the time.

      • +3

I haven’t used my 0.6mm yet. The printer comes with a spare 0.4mm stainless nozzle that you can swap the fan/heater/sensor to if it gets so blocked it’s not save able. The complete hotends are so cheap I’d recommend getting a hardened 0.4 and 0.6 along with the hardened extruded gears. Get a 0.2mm for fine detail models and you’ll be set. I’ve had a blockage on my hardened 0.4mm once, that was resolved with a cold pull, with 300+ hrs of print time.

        • Really good to know! Thank you very much for the insight.

    • Looks like a bug and they're back to 55.

  • +1

FYI filament sale went up early (PLA/PETG/ABS)

  • They never learn with the server capacity.

    • Yep it's stuffed. Seems to mostly load the page but adding to cart is broken. Other sites like US and Global seem fine, only AU seems to have trouble.

      • Actually it seems it's the browsers' Tracking and Privacy Protection settings. Disable that until you checkout.

Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > .. I just set it to Standard.. will set it back to Custom/Strict later

        • I didn't change anything from looking around and adding to cart earlier which worked fine and works fine on the other sites.

Anyway I got through eventually and it went smoothly just now.

          • @Shonky: Must've been the sudden influx. I was just looking at Firefox's network debugging and it said blocked by privacy settings.

        • FYI you can toggle this per website by clicking the shield to the left of the SSL Certiciate icon left of the address bar. So you never have to turn it off across the whole web.

Most issues you have with it are likely to be with how it deals with third party cookies, there's three settings worth knowing

          • Blocked (default) no third party cookies allow
          • Isolated - access to third party cookies is denied unless it's a domain featured within the site (usually for SSO)
          • Allow visited - allows for some tracking, but almost always just works.
  • Can't even add to cart

  • Took me a solid 15mins to get the cart sorted and paid for!

  • +1

They are slowly adding the various discounts one by one, so make sure you don't checkout early… Waiting on that AMS 10%…

    • Are you getting 2 AMS?

      • 3, for me, myself and a friend (but I swear its not I)

        • 4 would be good… there's that AMS adaptor. One day. I should slow down.. haven't even got the printer yet!

    • That's good. I was wondering what was going on.

  • Also did the complete hotends jump in price? I had it at $34.99 this afternoon.

    • Yeh they definitely jumped back to their normal RRP, I guess because it's a different sale now

    • +1

they cooked the link on the black friday page. If you added from there it was $35 AUD (35 usd is the US price). But if you went to the actual product page it was full price. So they fixed the error. I should have checked out earlier today…

  • +1

Cart went from $1437.78 to $1354.87 after the sale went live. Seems like the Bambu Hotend went from $39.90 bundled to $56.99 when bundled with the machine. Still an overall saving though!

    • Still awaiting that 10% on more than one ams though.

My overall cart should go from $2,297.46 to $1,681.74 and that's without the printer! :D

      • Looks like they forgot to set it for Global/AU/JP. Works on the other regions…

        • Is there a social media account we can get onto?

          • @Soulnet: Bottom of the page under about us is all the socials. I'm sure they've been told but are also humans who might have gone home…

          • +1

            @Soulnet: FYI it works now

  • Ordered an X1C and some filament at about 10.20pm AEST. Got separate tracking numbers for printer and accessories at 1.36am AEST. They don't show anything yet of course but that's super quick. Presume they planned for a lot of orders overnight.

    • Yep, I got tracking for the printer at 3am. Nothing for the filament yet.

      • When I said "accessories" that was almost all filament for me. I was thinking it was more but that was when I was originally thinking P1S and had added a hardened nozzle and extruder gears. In the end I just jumped to the X1C. So it was really just some PLA and PETG to get started. Maybe you ordered something they didn't immediately have on hand.

    • Apparently the actual printer is out for delivery today for me (Brisbane) with TeamGE. Can't complain about the speed.

Filament and accessories coming by AusPost separately but not today.

      • +2

And received. Has a kinda small bump on the top corner implying a drop, but I'm sure it will be fine.

Have to wait a few days as it's now a "present from my kids"….damnit

  • Of course this happens when I purchased my A1 Combo only a few days before!! Oh well. Great price for an excellent machine.

  • +1

Note also you get the 8+ roll filament price when buying 4 or more with a printer. That isn't explicitly noted.

    • Is that for the refills, not the rolls?

      • It's for both :)

        • Actually only for some. In fact, add the wrong ones and you lose the 8+ pricing on those that should/did have it - watch your cart to see. The only way to get back the 8+ pricing seems to be delete the printer and re-add with some rolls.

          • @soob: I have to say I only tried the PLA, PLA Matte, ABS and PETG.

  • +1

I'm about to order the A1 combo. I have no experience with 3D printing. Do I need any of the add-ons? Should I buy Bambu filament or is cheaper stuff on ebay okay?

    • +1

Cheaper stuff can be a bit hit or miss. You will get a small sample, but I'd recommend get a roll or two to get you started. Their printer, their filament, their profiles = more likely to work nicely out of the box.

  • +3

Sucks that these arent being match on amazon

    • Could be due to Prime free shipping, or their return policy. I got a printer from Bambu and shipping was $50

    • They've changed the price to $1359 on Amazon, but obviously without the 20% discount coupon

  • Not so much of a saving on the P1S combo…..but I still ordered one. Got some PETG HF too.

  • Is the halloween spool bundle worth it?

  • Anyone buy an a1 and have it dispatched yet?

    • I received it this afternoon, A1 combo. But I haven't received Mystery Box yet.

      • What state you in? I bought as soon as the black friday sale started and is still unfulfilled

        • NSW. It's sent from NSW, 2143. Maybe because it's close to me.

          • @ricol: Ah okay I’m in Brissy

          • @ricol: I'm in Vic. I think it's all sent out of some NSW warehouse.

      • I guess the Mystery Box is in the A1 box. Found clock components Kit-011 in the A1 box, need print something from Makerworld. I guess this is the Mystery Box.

      • it should be inside the carton

  • Hmm, got close to pulling the trigger on an X1, then found the Qidi Plus 4. The reviews are so positive I think I might wait - it's as fast, comparable print quality, same out of the box no tweaking concept, hires touchscreen like X1, but is bigger, and much cheaper.

  • Just received the p1s, does anyone know if free gift will come later. Or have I got it already.

It does say valued at up to $93 and they was a piano maker box worth $10 inside the printer.

    • +1

Just got my p1sc yesterday not yet open. But there’s another parcel coming via AU post. I think that’s the free gift

      • They seem to send printers with Team Global Express (formerly Toll) but anything like filament or accessories is sent by Australia Post Parcel even if part of the same order. Both were quick for me.

So if you didn't order any accessories or filament with your printer, then it might be the gift.

        • Just got my printer and fillaments in regional Vic about 15 minutes ago. Sent separately but arrived via TeamGE in the same truck.

          • @redpen: Did your tracking number work?

            • @zintill: Yes, but it might've taken a day or 2 to start showing up properly. Used the tracking field here. https://www.myteamge.com/

            • @zintill: Both mine did but I got the numbers at about 1.30am Tuesday morning, shipment notice from TeamGE at 3.20pm the same day (so tracking started to work). First actual track event "sorted to chute" at 8.30pm.

Auspost tracking number started working at 4.20pm Tuesday but first actual event was "arrived at sorting facility" at 7.20pm

          • @redpen: My teamGE tracking hasn't updated since it was picked up on the 22nd. Says it's due for delivery on the 29th, but tracking says it's being sorted in Sydney still

        • On the auspost app, did the name say "from online seller"?

      • I just confirmed with BambuLab and they said the free gift will be shipped separately.

    • I just got shipping confirmation last night for the free gift

  • Does anyone know how the “Mystery Maker's Supply Box OR Mystery Filament Box (valued at up to $93) “ works? Is it automatically added to the order? I just purchased a P1P combo, but did not see it mentioned anywhere throughout the checkout?

    • I'm just looking at the A1 combo in my cart and it is described as "A1 Combo (with free gift)"

    • Based on my experience, it's not on the order as an order line, it just gets sent out. Mine was sent on its own in a separate package.

  • -1

Looking at a dryer and many say that a food dehydrator from Kmart or Amazon is just as good?
    Any recommendations?

  • +2

I received the gift this morning by Auspost for my A1 combo.

    1. 2 box of D8*2 mm Round Magnet (20PCS)
    2. LED flame tea light candle set warm white (12pcs) KC018
    3. Remote controlled 16-color RGBW puck lights (2pcs) KC007
    • Nice, I'd be happy with that. I've seen some people getting a piano kit… That is something I'd never use

    • With my P1S combo I got:

      1. Engine Model Components Kit 005 - $17.00
      2. Electric Coffee WDT Tool Kit-K013 - $57.00

Pretty disappointed.. I have an espresso machine but I totally don't see myself using the Electric Coffee WDT.

    • I purchased the A1 combo. I got:

      1. Card Shuffler
      2. Remote Controlled 16-color RGBW Puck Lights
      3. LED Flame Tea Light Candle Set
    • So, I got the exact same accessory pack as you did. I think I'll find uses for most of those items in various projects

  • -2

    WARNING,

for any one that is going to buy a printer under the impression they will be receiving the “Mystery Maker's Supply Box OR Mystery Filament Box (valued at up to $93)“ think again.

I just got screwed. Ordered the P1 combo thinking that it would be included. I never seen it mentioned throughout the entire checkout process, so I asked through live chat, and they confirmed I will not be receiving it. On top of that they did not care, nor want to help or compensate in any way. I am totally regretting buy from them.

    • -1

The P1 combo doesn't list a free gift. Only the A1 and A1 mini. This is on the bambu website, I see it listed here on ozbargain. I do see it in the terms and conditions page saying it's a "Limited offer" where the A1 free gifts are not a limited offer (here https://au.store.bambulab.com/pages/bambu-lab-store-black-fr…).

      • When I ordered the Black Friday sale page was showing, Mystery Maker's Supply Box OR Mystery Filament Box (valued at up to $93) for the machine I ordered.

You only have to read the comments section here to see other people have received tracking numbers for this offer.

        • I didn't get any information about the gift until I received it today for my A1 combo. It's not mentioned in the order, and no tracking number at all. I got the tracking number from Auspost. I had thought it was for another purchase I made from eBay.

    • +1

I'd be disappointed too, but the again my gift was pretty average.

It doesn't look like the gift is mentioned on the Black Friday page for P1S anymore (unlike the A1). It is still mentioned in the Terms and Conditions though: https://au.store.bambulab.com/pages/bambu-lab-store-black-fr…

Considering it says Limited Offer: you may be out of luck and have missed that boat.

    • Why on earth are you using a card that charges international transaction fees ?!

Throw your Westpac card in the bin, there are plenty of cards that don't charge for international transactions.

  • Did anyone get the free gifts? Whatever they are….

Printer arrived about 3 days ago

On the auspost app, did the name say "from online seller"?

    • -1

Nope, I brought a P1S combo and got SFA. Very disappointing. Borderline scam tactics used by Bambu Lab, to entice people to buy, then turn around and use the “limited availability” clause to scam you out of the advertised makers box/free gift

      • It's been 3 days dude. considering others here have said they got stuff.

Mine included a clock kit. not sure if that comes with them all
