  • I still haven't' found a use for these lol

Mine stay in my travel suitcases. These actually helped me locate my suitcases, when WestJet left them in Vancouver and I was waiting for them in Toronto. Otherwise I would have had no idea.

yeah I bought luggage that has that built in trackers so I never needed to do this but I see the appeal though I just havent' had a use case for these.

      • +1

Same here, our luggage didn't make it onto the plane for some reason in London. Without the airtags, we would have been waiting at the luggage carousel for who knows how long and potentially missed our next flight.

I keep one in m back pack hidden away, use them in my travel luggage and also put one in the Mrs handbag to track where she is .

      • +10

Not sure if sarcasm but but if not I hope your Mrs knows she's being tracked

    • Car keys or even inside a expensive pram that people steal nowadays?

      • -2

car keys has never been a problem since I have a tesla that doesn't' require a key.

        • +12

how do you know someone owns a tesla?
          don't worry, they'll tell you

          • @bAps: Oh man I hope if I end up get a tesla i wont be like those parents that think their kids are 'smart'. Ok for who doesnt own a pram or does own a Tesla. The airtag can be place don anything that you migth loose and find value or has a high cost. does it make it better? haha

Very, very useful. I have one on the dog's collar, which has come in handy several times when he's run into the neighbourhood.

I have one in a carry bag that belongs to a family member with dementia for when we lose it (or lose him). A minute into a car trip on a holiday I got a phone notification that his bag had been left behind. We followed the air tag back to the taxi rank where it was still hanging on the facility wheelchair. Potential horror of lost wallet, phone, medication, etc. solved in a few minutes thanks to the airtag. We wouldn't have even known it was lost for another hour or two, with no idea where we'd left it. Terrible start to journey was averted.).

I have other airtags in other bags. You could also hang it on your key ring if you're prone to losing it. I've heard of plenty of folks leaving one in their car, for large shopping centre carparks.

So don't buy one then? problem solved

        • My sincerest apologies, you are correct. There is not a single worthwhile use case for these things.

For many millions of people, they are of great use for many purposes. Especially those poor, poor non Tesla owners!

      • -8

should do better at keeping in your dog if he has managed to escape 'several times'.

        • -1

Family member with dementia sometimes leaves the gate open. Not much to be done there while keeping it usable for everyone in the family. But thanks for the snap judgment.

        • +1

Stuff happens. Airtagging it is actually taking “better care” than not doing so. I take it you have never owned a pet.

    • +1

I put mine in my car keys. You never you need it until you actually need it.

  • Has anyone found a way to properly integrate it with home-assistant?

  • +1

Better off waiting for a 4 pack and then keeping what you want, selling the rest. Could easily make your money back.

    • +2

4 pack is $141.25 which seems pretty good

  • +3

Pairs nicely with $5 cash back on $40 spend

  • backpack is my only use case so far. Probably put the 2nd gen in my car
