      Base on previous deal yes, but personal experience indicate the qantas gift voucher is pretty hard to use..

      This is what I did a few years back when they had the super shopper version. But wondering if they disabled online purchasing.

      • Special says you can use the Woolworths Special gift card in-store at Woolworths and Woolworths Metro, as well as Woolworths Online. However, the Woolworths Group gift card portal is a separate portal on the Woolworths website with a separate payment gateway, which means there is no guarantee you can use a Woolworths Special gift card on that specific portal.

        Someone else reported a couple of months ago their Woolworths Special gift card was rejected as a payment method, so the fact that it did not work for you is hardly surprising.

      I don’t think so, the merchant name need to match “QANTAS MASCOT” which are only purchases from qantas website

      Even qantas hotel or qantas marketplace are in different merchant name

        • If anyone is curious - doesn't look like it, so far. I ordered over $500 from Qantas Wine, it's showing pending with the merchant name QANTAS STORE AU. I'm expecting it to post as QANTAS LOYALTY MASCOT eventually though, because I searched back through my previous transactions and all prior purchases from Qantas Wine have posted that way.

  • For the Special Gift Card, can you buy two $100 gift cards at the same time to maximise the discount or do you need to buy a single $200 gift card?

      I just had a look on the app and it doesn't seem like you can add two different types of cards to a "cart" for checkout simultaneously. I'll have to try the desktop website when I get a chance but don't think it'll be an option for the app at least.

    • I bought Ampol Cash gift cards today with Amex. The only problem was trying to buy two $25 cards in one transaction; the second ampol cash card did not load automatically.
      I have not received email confirmations of the deal being acknowledged as used by Amex.

      • The charges are appearing in my App as from AMPOL WOOLWORTHS METRO even though the FuelCheck App has the location as Ampol Foodary. No rebate has appeared yet, but the charges are still pending.

          I bought AmpolCash cards at a Foodary site as well and they're showing up as "CALTEX" but are also still pending. Will give it a few days and see what happens.

            I have purchased AmpolCash gift cards from Foodary sites in the past where the merchant was reported as “Caltex” or “Ampol Woolworths”. I still received cashback every time.

            I also purchased fuel via the Ampol app twice during the recent AMEX cashback deal and it showed up as “Caltex” both times. I still received cashback on both transactions.

          • @daanish: Once the offer turns redeemed, it means purchase is eligible. This occurs before credit is posted.

    Too bad there isn't any number I can call to see if they can sort it out, alas. Shot off an email to them via the contact form and will hope they can let me pay with Amex by the end of the promo.

    • Are you using the website? Their card field is a bit weird where it scrolls to the left to enter the CVC. I missed it the first time and was declined since no CVC was entered.

      • Tried both website and app. I did mis-enter the details the first time round but even after that it kept declining. I'm guessing either Special or Amex thinks it's a fraudulent transaction. Wish I could verify it myself somehow.

    • Call Amex first but I doubt the transaction is blocked by Amex.

      Or you can try mobile wallet?

        I'd have thought paying through Google pay invalidates the statement credit as it's being processed by Google rather than Amex.

          Google Pay definitely works for statement credits. I almost exclusively use the Google Wallet in store for AmEx deals and I've used the Google Wallet via websites before and no troubles getting the credit. Third Party payments means services like PayPal or BNPL (Afterpay/ZIP style) platforms.

            EDIT: Nevermind, when I try to select Google Pay on my phone (Pixel 6 Pro) it says "Google pay is not supported on this device"… Why don't they want my money? huff

            Mobile browser does at least bring up Google Pay but it still won't take the payment and comes up with a client-side error message. Tried with another phone with the app, got through the Google Pay checkout (and Amex secure thingy) and it still doesn't go through!

            Fwiw, Amex support said they can't find any decline on their end.

            • @rith: Ugh. I've been through this before. In my case Special thought that my account was dodgy and it had been flagged so I had to contact them via the live chat and get it rectified. I'm not sure if Live Chat is still a thing but you can either make a new account or contact them via whatever support means are available.

              • @daanish: I didn't see one so I filled out their contact form. They got back to me and asked for the email associated with my credit card, which is a very strange request.

                Anyway I'm yet to hear back from that after giving them my Special account details, which they also asked for afterwards after not finding my account.

                    @bounty hunter: No the last correspondence was they couldn't find my account and asked for my email and phone number which I provided (around the time of my last comment). Nothing since then.

                    Having reviewed your order details, unfortunately, we are unable to process it online this time.
                    The reason for the block by our systems was that your credit card has triggered our antifraud system which is designed to safeguard your and other cardholders' credit card from being used fraudulently per industry standard. This safeguard evaluates data points from numerous places including emails, IP addresses, etc.

                    And offered no solutions to proceed. Not happy, Jan! I've emailed back to see if they can unblock me..

                    Last time this happened to me was with Prezzee, and I was able to call them to get them to unblock my card. Huge shame if these guys can't do the same. It's beginning to be more trouble than it's worth to get $20 back.

    As always, I bought the Tech Head gift card from Special. Not advertised but it still works at paypaperbills.postbillpay.com.au (might depend on the biller you're paying) and giftcards.woolworths.com.au.

        Yep. Bought an Everyday WISH eGift Card this morning on giftcards.woolworths.com.au (5% discount with NSW Seniors for me). Should show up as "Purchase at WISH GIFT CARD 6673" in your transaction history once cleared.

          Ok I just tried it and interestingly Tech head gift card did not work for 5% extra woolworths offer but worked fine when I purchased woolies egift card with 4% discount via Woolworth insurance login. Managed to get 208.33 worth of woolworths gift card for $200 special gift card

  • Special DIY Legend card can be used at Bunnings and Spotlight. It’s rare to get 10% discount on those.

  • For Ampol, make sure you pay in-store as OP said and "don't" pay via Ampol app as it's not accepted.

    So tricky, whereas the last offer was payment via Ampol app only.

    The T&C only mentioned purchase must be made on http://www.qantas.com/au/en.html.

      It will be very likely an ineligible purchase as I think marketplace processes payment in a different way.

      It is similar to the situation between Woolworths Online Shopping and Woolworths Gift Card.

      My Ampol cashback was credited two days after my purchase. Did you fuel up at an Ampol Foodary or another type of Ampol service station (e.g. EG Ampol, the Ampol in Mitchell or Fyshwick)?

      My Special cashback was credited the day after my purchase.

    I have waited for 6 days for my special cashback. I did fuel up at an ampol foodary (showhow it showed as Ampol Woolworths Kippax Holt on my amex transaction detail) . Thanks, I will contact Amex.

    update: just contacted Amex, they told me it would take maximum 15 business days.

      I have had my Ampol cashbacks credit on the primary and 2 supps. Still 2 more supps pending though. Been a week now.

      contacted and they said they will raise a case.
