                • @fozzie: I only got charged $766.59 for the Voucher repayment fee and just got off the chat with Telstra and they said get back to them and they’ll be happy to refund the upfront fee which is amazing

  • Hey guys. First time I’ve asked but when cancelling do you guys talk to Telstra about refunding the $89 alongside paying the $800ish? Or just say I’d like to cancel and can I also get the $89 refunded

  • I ported over an older JB Hi-Fi plan to AmaySim in prep for this. How would the voucher repayment to Telstra be managed/handled? I'm not seeing any details on the JB App anymore. Will Telstra send over an Invoice or direct debit my stored credit card?

    • You just pay by credit card/debir. Not sure about instalments.

    "Let us go ahead and work on that. By the way, as have checked here that the early termination fee is for $766.59 with installment remaining of 23 months. Let us proceed?"

    Does that seem about right? I'm a little confused about the 23 months part. Would I also be paying an additional $89 for the first month - which would be due/charged next month?

  • jeez. I just got cancelled but customer said that " The current plan includes a gift card with a commitment to stay on that plan for 24 months. If you disconnect your plan early, you’ll need to repay the value of the gift card." damn. gift card value is going to be less than 1200$ or I have to repay value?

      change to another customer service, I just got mine cancelled. No issue at all, $766.59 cancellation fee, refund $89. No rubbish questions asked.

          and use Telstra chat directly in their app and not JbHifi (had practically the same issue with them last time)

    FYI ozb, I just got mine cancelled via Telstra app $766.59 cancellation fee, refund $89. No rubbish questions asked. Happy Day.

    • I’m trying to cancel with Telstra now and the person said “ I understand, for the cancellation itself , you will need to go back to point of sale, if you have that order at JB hifi you will need to contact them”

      I think it depends on who you get. I’m just restarting convo now. Hopefully I get someone more decent.

      • You can cancel it using jbhifi mobile app. That's what I did. No need to go to the point of sale

      • the telstra app agent keeps asking for a mobile number - told them i only have an order number… Does not seem they know what to do to cancel it….They are saying they need the order to be complete to cancel it and I have to wait 24 hours….

    I don't know what happened with my account. The store rep had to call up Telstra to do credit check with my ID, medicare and utility bill.
    All ok then he said he'll need to wait for Telstra to activate my account ???

    Took 2 hours and still can't sign up. I'm given up.

    Signed up but vicroads doesn’t identify my card. They guy said they will honour the GC 1200 but plan is 99 pm. He asked me to come back on Sunday with passport .

    Can I cancel on Sunday once the order is placed ?

    Also said my credit rating will take a hit if I cancel !

    I asked cancellation charges and the JB guy went on the defensive lol . Will you cancel etc ?

    Cancelled within 20 minutes of purchase! Telstra chat said to come back when the pending $89 was taken from my account and they would look at refunding. Does this sound right?

    • Was your order showing in progress? for me the agent keeps refusing to cancel stating that it is in progress and can be cancelled only after completion

      • My order shows as in progress and my cancellation also shows in progress

              • @fadzsolz: try to get phone number for less rubbish questions.
                otherwise put sim in your phone to get phone number. But they will need to send validation code to your phone number anyway to check owner.
                Put your sim to the phone doesn't affect cancellation.
                My case, I put new sim to phone when chatting to get validation code. I feel that way less question for me but It's true. I got cancel and get refund 99$ straightaway.
                they can validation code by email as I did for my friend too. that's up to your situation

                    don't give them order number because I think JB make it, Telstra doesn't. Finally, it comes to Telstra system is the phone number.

                            1 says Your order is confirmed.
                            2 says Your order is now complete.

                            I get 2 emails at same time once. And other time, I get 1 and 2 emails between 8mins.
                            If they still saying that it should be somethings delay on their end.
                            Anyway, you just relax. Don't worry, you will get it because CIS still showing Maximum Repayment is $800.

  • I chatted in Telstra app , customer service confirmed 766.59 repayment of early cancellation and refund of initial 89 without asking any personal information ( phone number , order number etc) , is it normal? I am not advised where to make the repayment neither, the res has now ended the conversation..

      Your service person must have gone through lots of cases and got skilled on this, lol. If you can see the invoice, it's done

        • Service is only visible on JB mobile website, but you can still contact Telstra customer care to end it. After the service person terminate your service, the invoice should be visible in My Telstra app

  • Cancelled via Telstra app. Service didn't show in app yet. Just asked to cancel my JB mobile plan which the rep said it will be $766.59. Asked about the $89 refund which they initially refused. I said I haven't even used the service and after about 10 minutes they came back saying they could refund the $89 as a one time courtesy.

  • Signed up 3 services - went on the Telstra app and after a long conversation, confirmed $766.59 each plan and a refund of $89 each plan (they initially refused).

    • Got 2 out of 3 refunded. I'll push for the third tomorrow.

      • Told them I couldn’t afford it & have heard other got a refund. Was very patient and being nice and friendly.

        I don’t think you can :(. It’d be amazing but last I tried to convert an ultimate one and staff said: you can’t buy a gift card with a gift card

        • ya, I read in other posts they disabled the 3rd party cards, not sure if it applies for jb hifi cards as well. As I already have another discounted apple card, trying to figure any other way to convert the jb card :)
