  • Anyone have success cancelling MyNRMA membership before 12 months without cancellation charge? Don’t have much need for it after I’ve used through the ENGIE credit.

Try My NRMA Blue Membership Free for 12 Months
I've had it free a few times.

    • I’ll have to turn in my OzBargain pass…

      • nrma blue is different to an nrma membership. not sure if having nrma blue qualifies you for this engie product

        • NRMA Blue has been renamed to just My NRMA. According to FAQ

Mid month I finish up with AGL, will transfer

I just checked it for my suburb in QLD and its showing $200 credit for Electricity. Here is the link https://engie.com.au/residential/electricity-and-gas-plans/c…

  • You can stack with this offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/868782

    • Think different company?

      • Same offer available via Econnex

    • So no problem getting both deals in the T&Cs? Just need to click through the link in the other deal and sign up through Econnex? Seems like a great deal if this is the case. $500 credit + 2 x $100 prepaid mastercard.

      • Yep, sign up via econnex

    Can get extra $50 through
    https://wattever.com.au/engie-business-switch-sidebar/
I did when powershop jacked up their prices, also 12c fit in NSW

    • Can't find ENGIE NRMA via Wattever.

  • what will happen to the credit i have with AGL, will they allow for me to cash in?

  • only 25% off reference price including the discount. Better have a churn ready for after the credit is used up…

    • Powershop doing $300 bill credit in NSW too, that’s my next I think.

      • How long are these offers valid for? I think I can just churn my Energy Australia $350 credit.

  • +2

the $500 credit seems only for non solar house and Gas, solar house only get $200 credit

    • Only 5.5c for the non solar plans. Quite low

  • When I entered a Victorian suburb postcode, it still showed the offer.

    • 400?

  • Thanks OP, could you also advise the AGL deal with TGG gift card?

    • Don’t think valid anymore. Signed up in July and got $125 bill credit for each electricity and gas, and $125 TGG gift card for each electricity and gas.

  • Hmm would love to choose a future connection date but doesn't seem to give the option.

    • +1

I signed up over the phone (address issues) and the agent said they could schedule a future connection but only if I signed up as a “move in” which involved a manual meter read fee. Unsure of amount.

      • $500

  • +2

The usage prices are very high for electricity. You would definitely pay more than $250 extra if you dont churn straight away

    • Where is it cheaper as I'm not finding more than 22% off the reference price.

  • +1

I was previously with ENGIE. How long do I need to be away to qualify?

  • +1

what if I used simply before this year? Now with AGL.

    • Yeah same here.
I would argue we should be eligible

  • Does having an NRMA roadside membership count?

  • Do they pay the credit multiple times within 12 months period?

  • +2

Its NOT 25% off usage rates. (using Electricity as example)

Its $250 off the bill which based on the averages for a bill then means you save 25%

The actual reduction in power usage charges is 11%. So in effect once the $250 is used up then all you will save is 11% of the reference price.. A few smoky mirrors being used here. Note also I was given 11% not 12% another swifty being pulled here.

If you are a churner then once you get your $250 then move on.

Here's the info from my sign up offer letter.

    Offer Benefits
Electricity: For only $1 a week, 100% of the electricity you use will be matched with GreenPower from accredited
renewable sources that are fed into the grid. Also get 11% guaranteed discount off our electricity usage and supply rates,
and a $250 welcome credit on your first electricity bill. Now you don't have to choose between great value and
    supporting Australia's renewable energy future.

In my case I also never agreed to the green power crap either. And they included Gas - which I dont have And they switched my flat rate to time of use.

Not worth dealing with. Got an offer from previous supplier to come back with bonus and true 25% off the rates. So cancelled the deal

    • When is the earliest time you can change to another provider again? I am guessing after the first bill, minimum 3 months?

      • There's no lock in period so you should be able to change electricity any time. Gas won't be changed until the next bill regardless

        • I guess I will use it for first quarter to receive doscount and get out lol what do you think hahs
