If night vision is important for you, get cx410

have both and 410>810 any … night.

    • Reasons?

      • +3

        same size sensor higher rez…
410 is very good at night… 810 is a significant step down.

        • good to know thanks

found that with the 12mp cams i have, my 510w outperforms them at night

    • +1

If you have no nearby lights then yes, the CX410 would be better. In that case I'd recommend neither and tell you to just use an IR camera

If you have ambient lighting, CX810 is just as good at night, plus you have the bonus of double the resolution - also, reolink updated the firmware of CX810 recently which added :

      ● Added Audio Noise Reduction Option: users can adjust noise reduction levels to improve the audio quality.
      ● Added Binning Mode Feature: night vision quality can be enhanced in extremely dark environments (this mode is most recommended for such situations; otherwise the video will look blurry).

The audio noise reduction is a significant upgrade to the muddy CX810.

    • I agree

    • Do you need a nvr with these?

  • Any deals on the new Altas?

    • I have found the DOTD of Altas! You can find in my new post :)

  • AliExpress description has it as 4MP and when adding to the cart also says 1 PCs 4MP camera, I am assuming this is a typo?

    • +2

4MP one is probably the CX410, whereas the 8MP one is CX810

      • 'Probably'. I've been looking at the Reolink range on aliexpress recently and I can't figure out why they just don't simply put up the model numbers. It's super confusing. The title reads 4K camera, but if that's so, why can you select a 4MP version within it…

        • I know what you mean. You have to message the seller or read every comment. Annoying.

  • Ok, my bad I didn't scroll left on the phone to find the 8MP models

  • Anybody used it with Scrypted? I suspect the 2k one would work better, from what I’ve heard about other models

    • You have to run in 2k with Scrypted I believe. In the Scrypted Wiki under the suggested cameras it makes mention.

  • Is this the best one from Reolink?

  • @nocure I installed two of https://m.reolink.com/au/product/rlc-833a/ at front side but I don’t get good clean picture/vid at night even for 8-10m distance objects or person. Is there any specific settings I should verify?
    See these details: https://imgur.com/a/EHfWRKi

Secondly, which poe cameras do you recommend as replacement for 833A if i need to get much better picture/vid at night and till 15-20m distance?

    • You won't get good picture quality at 15-20m in the night with IR unless you have very specific optical zoomed cameras with large sensors, and/or very targeted IR lights on the area you want illuminated. Price point will be far higher than the ~$100 for an 833A. Even 8-10m is too far, the IR lights won't illuminate well enough to let the camera do its things.

      • Thanks for your feedback.
What is the best option I can get from PoE Reolink in currently available cams then?

    • Maybe you can find in YouTube, I remember some videos comparing reolink products, so maybe you can find one with better night vision for you

  • I guess it's good, for $200 less than normal. I bought the swann one from a while ago, but now it's just a paperweight because they switched off the server. Is there anyway I can make use of my old one?

  • Can you use these without wifi? I was thinking to put an sd card inside and place it somewhere high up.

    • These cameras are Power over Ethernet (PoE). You can pop an SD card in there but still need to power the cameras if not using PoE

  • Code works on the CX410 too, brining it to US$49.30. tempted to get a second one to replace another camera.

    • Could you please share the link to the CX410?

      • Same link, it's the 4MP option. CX810 is the 8MP option

        • Doesn't specifically say CX410, but pulled the trigger anyway.

  • Now ~$74.91AUD for the CX410 and the REOLINK1616 code still applies at checkout - looks like there's a different promotion on now.
