The next AliExpress sale is kicking off from October 1st and while this is a Choice Day sale it should work on pretty much anything. These codes work with both USD and AUD as your AliExpress currency.

Choice Products are shipped directly from the AliExpress warehouse and typically arrive within 2 weeks. If the delivery exceeds 14 business days you're able to claim a coupon and if it's not delivered a full refund after 30 days. Most of my recent Choice orders have arrived within 7 business days.

Coupons are 1 per account, do not stack with the new user "Welcome Offer" and "Big Save" promotions. The minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

Discount (USD) Min Spend (USD) Discount (AUD) Min Spend (AUD) Coupon Code 1 Coupon Code 2
US$3 US$29 A$5 A$50 OZAF05 AUOC05
US$8 US$69 A$12 A$100 OZAF12 AUOC12
US$20 US$169 A$30 A$250 OZAF30 AUOC30
US$30 US$239 A$45 A$350 OZAF45 AUOC45
US$50 US$369 A$75 A$550 OZAF75 AUOC75

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

    $3…in 3 days…can't hardly wait…it's time to get excited!

    • what's everyone getting?

    • +3

Not as excited as waiting 9 months for $2 cash back from Amazon, I miss those bargains

      • +1

Twice I've waited 9 months for a baby. Would recommend but twice is enough.

Has anyone quantified the difference in exchange rates between various payment methods? Like, on a $100 purchase are you saving $1/$5/$10/more? I've been using my Revolut disposable CC for all Ali Express purchase, loading it with AUD then converting in the app to USD. I think Revolut uses market rates to calculate the exchange so the difference is rarely more than 1%-1.5%; this would mean I'd lose out by roughly $2 in a $100 sale, which is hardly breaking the bank. I'm curious to hear the experience of others.

    • I find revolute exchange rate pretty good. They only start charging u more after like $2000 spent per month and more on weekends. So if I buy on a weekday in a new calendar month then the exchange rate is pretty close to what market is. Definitely less than 1% difference

  • I was looking to buy some stuff yesterday and prices were higher despite the better exchange rate. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

    • U gotta wait. They drop prices inconjuction with the coupon codes.

    HLOD people……11.11. Singles day.

    • then the items will be arrived on 11.1.25

      • Sucks for you then. All my orders take a week to arrive, as has been the case for over a year.

    • Are the savings actually greater on singles day or just slightly better than regular?

      • +1

Depends on the seller. Typically you get bigger discount coupons.

Can you pay at Ali express in aud without international transaction fee?

I'm in the process of closing 28 degrees card so I tried using my normal card. I figured if I used aud on Ali express, I would still get charged international fee because it's processed overseas. So I tried using USD but letting PayPal do the conversion (so the payment on my card was still in AUD, with the assumption that PayPal should be able to process nationally), but I STILL got charged the international transaction fee a few days afterwards.

    It's such a scam and I don't know how it's allowed. But I digress.

If I change ali express to aud, will that charge international transaction fee as well?

    • +1

Plenty of other credit and debit card products available that don't charge currency conversion fees.

Easiest option is a Bankwest Easy Transaction account or a Macquarie Transaction account (both come with MC Debit cards).

      • Yes I understand, and I will set up a new card in a little while. But for now while I don't have one, I'm wondering if it's possible to pay in AUD (with bad exchange rates) through Ali express without then additionally getting slugged the scam international transaction fee?

        • I don't think so, for the reasons you've already discovered - your bank still treats it as a foreign transaction because the processing happens overseas.

Only other way to avoid it is pay via PayPal and cop PayPal's appalling exchange rate.

          • @xyron: That's what I did as per my post - I used PayPal's bad exchange rate, but then I was STILL slugged with another 5% or so "international transaction fee" on my card.

        • +1

Some banks let you set up a card straight away to add to your Google/Apple wallet, without having to wait for a physical card. The Macquarie account takes like 2 minutes to set up, so you could always give that a try.

  • Really appreciate you posting these when they come up.
Any chance there's any big spend discounts available or coming up soon?…(eg: USD$150 off when spending USD$1000)
    Thanks

AliExpress business accounts usually get access to those in the bigger sales. I'd say 11/11 should have them.

      • Thanks. Unfortuately, I'm just a regular account.
I'll also keep an eye out for 11/11!

It's shown in 3 places on this deal when the sale starts.

  • Is getting a robo vacuum during these sales a good idea? or are robo vacuums easily sourced cheap outside of these sales from Aussie retailers?

    • +2

Amazon and eBay deals pop up regularly and end up being cheaper. Especially when brands like Roborock operate locally.

Ali is good for cheap spare parts and consumables.

  • Hmm … recommended Zigbee LED downlights?

  • Viofo dash cams are cheaper than ebay / amazon. Was going to buy a few today but will hold off for a few days now.

    Thanks for posting.

there are also some other coupons advertised on aliexpress now, eg AUOC05 $3 off US$29. as above but with AUOC instead of AUAF

    • +2

Yep AliExpress informed me of the new codes, as well as the OzBargain codes.

    • -2

None of the AUOC codes are working for me despite having easily enough eligible items in my cart? Have they been disabled?

      • +1

        deal starts tomorrow

  • what time does this start?

    • +1

Underneath the social share icons you can see the start and end times

      • Thanks!

  • +2

Paypal all the way to get refund if not satisfied. Aliexpress doing sale every 2 weeks… later will be 10/10, 11/11, thanks giving and more…

  • Anyone having trouble with the coupons? I've got $62 in my cart before shipping/tax but the $5 off coupon isn't working :/

    • What does it say when you type the code in?

      • Your order amount, after discounts and excluding shipping fees, doesn't reach the minimum spend requirement for this coupon code. Once you reach the minimum spend requirement, you can reapply this coupon code.

Which it should, it'd be $57.

        • What is the amount when it's set to USD?

          • @Clear: Subtotal
            US $42.57

            • @SuBw00FeR: Unusual as I can get it to apply on similar prices. Does it happen to be tagged as Big Save or something else?

              • @Clear: 2 items are limited deals, 1 item is choice super deal , all are choice items/shipping too

              • @Clear: Is it cos im trying to shopback?

                • @SuBw00FeR: I'd try it logged in via incognito to see if it really is Shopback.

                  • @Clear: Nope :(

                  • +1

@Clear: Alright worked it out, if an item has "limited deal" the coupon wont work in conjuction with it. So 2 items werern't adding to the total.

OZAF45 worked for US$30 on ~US$310 of items. Was almost tempted to increase quantities for the US$50 on US$369. Don't expect orders to progress too much until after the holiday today/tomorrow.

  • Grabbed some Jayo filament

5x rolls ot ABS 15x rolls of PLA+ $230. $11.50 a roll delivered is a deal. I’ve used the PLA+ and bought from the same seller before. It prints as well as Bambu Labs pla basic using the bambu profile.

    A$12 A$100 OZAF12 AUOC12

    "OZAF12" - Exhausted.

    "AUOC12" - Still working.

    • AUOC12 also exhausted.

  • Waiting for upsized cashback.

  • When are we getting upsized cashback :`(

@Clear would you say it's better to hold off until 11/11 or buy now? I think the item i'm looking at is currently discounted for choice day plus the coupons on top makes it about $50 cheaper than a couple weeks back. I don't have much experience with aliexpress, i'm guessing it wasn't choice day during the previous coupons? or maybe this item wasn't discounted last choice day i looked.

    • +1

I don't think there's an increase this time around. 11/11 is pretty much one of the biggest sales so I'm sure it'll be on sale then if you can wait

  • Updated expiry date.
