      I'll read up on PP

You'd only have it if you had signed up for it when they offered it years ago.

Cancelled my 28 degrees card so fast when they annouced the monthly fee… ended up getting a Macquarie card instead, most excellent it is.

    • Does it have no foreign currency conversion fee?

      • +2

Yes. Used it overseas. Also rebated ATM fees within Australia

Load of cancellation transferred to Bendigo

  • My text was in the spam folder of my messages on android. For those that didn't get a text either and were wondering if they were included

No SMS here, but I'm easily making the $8 back and much more in price protection claims

  • Cancelled last week and still waiting…

"We have received your closure request and would like to advise you that the closure cannot be processed as we need to wait for 6 business days for any payment apart from BPay (from the date when the payment was made)."

  • Cancelled mine last week (after I got home from overseas trip) due to the monthly fee.

Might take a look at the Bendigo card as a replacement if that's what the OzB crowd is doing.

  • I've had 28 Degrees since 2012 and only use it on average once per year when I travel overseas. So you're saying they're now going to start charging a monthly fee on my account? If so… I'm cancelling.

  • Nothing here. May be tied to those without PP?

How do people track their purchases for the price protection? I can barely remember what I had for breakfast.

    • Google sheets

    • I use D notes, easy to change the flair / colours. Just pop in notable purchases by date and remember to check every once in a while

These idiots still haven't closed my account after 2 weeks, asking me to send them my date of birth via email in plain text where their email states they will never ask for personal details via email.

    Absolute incompetence.

I cancelled my card years ago but noticed I still had an active account that I could login to, just no credit card. I called up wanting them to cancel the account and they plain refused.

Got a theory they sent the text to people with low card balance / limited number of transactions. I had a balance of about $1700, no text for me

    • Yeah I barely use mine and have nothing outstanding. I got the offer.

No idea why they’d want to hold on to dormant cardholders though.

      • Thats the difference between you thinking as a customer vs the product and risk guy thinking with a liability cap

  • There's an $8 fee? I must have missed that…

    Time to cancel.

    • I received an email a couple of hours ago stating that my monthly fee was being waived for the next 12 months. I do use my card frequently when overseas and when purchasing items overseas when home. That may be the reason for the deferral.

      • Yeah, just found it in my pile of promotional spam emails. I've set a reminder to cancel 11 months from now.

i cant wait to pay off my latitude card. I literally signed up 2 weeks before the major data breach they had and was told 'oh well'

awful response, awful ui, awful systems and awful customer service. Avoid these guys. Latitude scummy tactics is on par with those financial assistance companies through Harvey Norman which were pay by month/week with extra interest.

I finally jumped on the the flyers points bandwagon and would rather them charging me yearly fees than this awful company.

  • Got my email today , will keep for next 12 months

  • Still a bad deal given the nearly 28% interest rate!
While I pay off my card(s) in full monthly 99% of the time, no point getting stung with such a high rate if you don't.
Closed my account and won't be going back especially after their cyberattack and sub-par handling and response to it.

Thank you to the person who asked 28 Degrees, R U OK?

  • What's the best $0 annual fees credit card these days?

Is there any such thing as a credit card with $0 annual fee that still gives points?

      Bendigo bank

Targeted my ass, muppets can't even close my account properly even though I have confirmation letters.

Don't bother, get the Bendigo bank card.

Latitude change the terms on a whim and their site and app can't even tell you what your balance is accurately.

  • I use to use the price protection but haven't since just before they changed from 28deg to latitude website. I'm looking now and can't seem to find anywhere to make a claim. anyone tell me where it is suppose to be? cos if they've taken the Price Protection insurance off our account i'm cancelling my cards.

    Their customer service is atrocious.

I’ve been chasing them for months to pay me my cashback from the Mastercard Suica top-up deal. It’s only like $8 but better in my pocket than theirs.

  • I just cancelled mine as well. What a joke they try and get some more people now and just sting them later..

    Don’t do it

  • Thanks! Appreciated the reminder to cancel the card.

  • Latitude is going downhill unfortunately these last few years.

  • $8 a month with no rewards… No thanks
12 months no fee and then need to cancel later… Better off getting a card with a sign up bonus

Now they realised that sh!t has hit the fan. What a bunch of idiots!

  • Is there a link you can share or is it unique? I haven't received anything 😠

  • Had mine since day one! Yes, that long!! I've spent an absolute fortune through this card over the years but today I cancelled it in disgust!!… FWIW, I closed my account in the App and it was instantaneous… YMMV (FTR, I didn't receive the targeted SMS that others have spoken about).

I also closed my Latitude GO Mastercard a few months ago when they announced that even Zero Balance customers (ie; Me) will be charged a monthly account keeping fee as well… I had a gut feeling then that my prized 28 Deg MC was gunna be next… just goes to show, always follow your gut instinct!

  • Is there an inbox after logging in that would have this message? I can't find anything like that. I didn't get any email or sms yet, and I was going to cancel the card, but I'm happy to wait a little while if the fee is waived for a year

  • +1

Dont fall for their scam, they're hoping you will forget about the monthly fee after 12 months! Cancelled mine and jumped ship

  • Wasn't going to cancel for a few more months, but I definitely will cancel if I don't get this offer!
