Looks like a good upgrade from my SE 2020. But it’s still going great, no need yet.

    • I'm still somehow hanging on to an iPhone 8 Plus, but holding out for the forthcoming iPhone SE 2025 which is probably the better call.

      • Oh, cool. I thought it was just rumours that they were releasing another SE.

That 8 is an oldie but a goodie. Glad it’s going well still.

    • Yeah me too lol my lightning connector is a bit dodgy these days, wireless charging is the clincher for me!

      • +1

Yeah I switch between connector and wireless. I had my lightning connector port have some issues, it had some lint and stuff jammed in there. Get an old toothbrush and pin and scrape it out. It was all stuffed up the top from the plug compressing it. Get the toothbrush bristles in there. Sorted mine out. 🙂

Omg I didn’t realise this phone had wireless charging. Just tried it on my partners charger and it works. I’ll try and clean the lightning port tomorrow :D Might hold off on this deal after all!

          • +1

@Agileduck: Well I'm glad I helped someone today! haha

            • @GeneralSkunk: I cleaned out the lightning port, a got a whole lot of junk out of there. Charging has improved dramatically! Thank you my man!!

              • +1

@Agileduck: 😂 Awesome to hear! Glad to help. 😀

Yeah I wonder how many people have this happen but just think the phone is on the way out and buy a new one. Must be a lot. It’s a little cavity that goes at the bottom of your pocket so it’s destined to end up full of crap!

  • This was the best deal where I managed to get an iPhone 15 for $718 (Inc TRS at Airport) wish I got two or they bring that deal back https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/856010

    • +2

      Connected to a $3k plan 😂

      • No ongoing costs as whole idea was to get phone outright

        • But an outright cost for cancelling. Still an awesome deal tho

        • Yeah just jump on a $180/year Boost SIM and you’re all good. 🙂

  • $855 was the cancellation cost which is what I am comparing this plan to vs what I (&200 other ozb) managed to get

  • +2

No $855 Inc cancellation total cost of the phone that's all & I managed to get GST refunded on the fl price which came to roughly $138 so give or take $718 I have an iPhone 15

  • You buy a phone for its camera?

    • Between my watch and my iPad I barely take out my phone at all, nowadays. Apart from acting as a hotspot the thing my phone is, mainly, used for is a camera.

    • +3

      You don't?

    • Yes but if camera was really important to me, I would exclusively consider the Pro and Pro Max models (or Galaxy Ultra / Pixel Pro) and not a 3 year old base model iPhone.

      • Yes my father recently bought the Samsung S24 ultra and the camera quality is like nothing I’ve ever seen before

Yay thank you for sharing, Ive been waiting for this deal to come back for 2 months.

At this point iPhone 13 is hardly a good deal. Having 4GB of RAM will severely limit its useful life. Spend more and at least get an iPhone 14 with 6GB.

    • At this point iPhone 13 is hardly a good deal.

Agree. I don't think it's a good deal at this price.

Having 4GB of RAM will severely limit its useful life.

Disagree. If RAM matters to you, you shouldn't be considering base model iPhone in the first place. You need a Pro or Pro Max, which along with higher RAM have other other essential performance features needed for power users.

      • RAM has always been the bottleneck in iPhone. Their CPU is plenty fast.
Not sure what you disagree about. Why do I have to go Pro or Pro Max if iPhone 14 also have 6GB RAM, and I just want an iPhone that works well for a long time?

      • RAM matters to everyone. iPhone 13 will have significantly shorter OS support compared to either 13 Pro or 14 due to the difference in RAM.
