          • @Golly1153: Yeah i trialled the $2 sim first in case that would work but i needed to apply credit to activate hence $10 online for 10Gb

        • It asked me to add $30 plan (new) or $30 recharge for exisiting , paid $129 only with $200 voucher code.

  • I heard G54 has problem to install more than one e-sim.
    How about A35? Can I install multi-esim?
How many e-sim can it take in A35?

    • +3

      Zero/None

    • You heard incorrect information.

I have 2 eSims on my G54, and could install more if needed.

Of course, you can only have one active at a time, plus the physical Sim.

  • Good phone for the money. Next closest thing is A55 for twice the price (unless on special).

    • A55 is $499 at Telstra.

  • +4

So, effectively it is $299 for the phone plus $30 for the plan? Then, the plan could be cancelled after receiving the phone, which leaves us with $329 total for the phone? Is that correct?

  • $129 but single sim?

  • Can we buy this if we have an existing amaysim SIM Only plan and retain everything on existing plan?

    • You will be subject to early renewal so it's best for people who were going to resume another month

      screenshot

      • Na my plan ends in Nov, so no point buying on existing plan.

i am wondering if samsung a35 @$329 and moto g84 @$269, which one has better value? my main concern is a35 has 6gb ram whereas g84 has 12gb ram. (imo 6gb ram is a shortage).

    • If value matters more, the Motorola is better on paper.

But it is vanilla Android / barebones, whereas the Samsung comes with OneUI, which IMO is a better experience. I prefer OneUI design, and also one man's bloat is another's choice (and you can disable things to reduce "bloat" if you really care), and I use some Samsung apps over Google's… See, I like choice.

Disclaimer: I have a Galaxy S10 and a Pixel 6a. Both are responsive, no lags etc. The S10 has 6gb of ram and it's never been an issue for me. (Actually I've no issues with the S10 at all.)

  • -1

Can this be a upgrade for my Galaxy S10?

I've zero issues with my phone, still performs without any issues and the battery still lasts a day etc… Camera night shots are still "competitive" to modern phone cameras etc… It's just old and I want a good excuse to change it.

    • -2

      No

    • S10 is no longer support by Samsung. If you care about software update (if you do banking on phones), upgrade to A35.

  • Thanks OP, got one for $129!!

  • Can we choose a monthly plan and then cancel it before renewal? Is the phone unlocked?

Edit: Seems like it's possible. "Minimum cost $299 + one renewal of your chosen plan."

    Hi all,

    Just want to add.

If you missed out on the targeted ad that expired 2 days ago then do what I did. I called up and told them about the situation and they gave me a unique code for $200 off. I then just signed up as a new customer on the $30 phone plan so total for phone and 1 month is $129.00. Had to go through this way because im on a postpaid plan and you can't bundle together with it. gotta be their exy one which starts at $30 a month

    • So you had the code that expired?

      • Never got it, just called up and said "hey noticed I missed out on the code that expired 31/7 can i still get that?"

and she sorted me out with a new code.

        • Can I DM you by any chance? Did you call them or did chat?

          • +1

@BinnyC: Uhh yeah sure you can.

            I called.

        • You are lucky. I have service with them. I called and they didn't give it to me.

  • Rang them no luck asking for mobile no. and all the details

    • Same here.

      • Same they didn’t offer anything

  • Wow 209 grams… This thing is a brick

  • +1

Tempted for my wife, not sure if this or the g54 though, plus very annoyed by the early renewal, she literally got the offer today 1 hour after the auto renewal kicked in….

    • You can go for the lowest plan (and a new number which you may never use after activating) with $30 if you don't want to auto-renew your annual plan (and keep using it as is).

You need a plan to buy a device but you don't need to renew that plan again once purchased so it's an extra cost of $30 minimum, which is not avoidable. Remember to stop auto-renewal if you go this route though.

  • I got a $200 off code. Should I pull a trigger on this deal or will the offer get better as we get closure to the end of 3G by Amaysim/Optus?

  • Is it unlocked

    • +1

      Yes

    • Does it have sd card slot?

      • Do you have access to google?

      • +1

        Yes. Up to 1TB

      • I just slot in a free 64gb from Perk's $10 voucher in it

  • Does anyone have the a35 from amaysim?

  • How do you manage with one sim when you travel abroad? I like everything else about this phone but the fact that it has only one sim. Two sims is a norm these days.

  • Remember to use Cashrewards - it would bring the price down to $121 with $8 cashback (if it works).

    • i don't think it will work. Hasn't tracked for me so far.

      • I always use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone for cashback purpose. Never fail with Cashrewards.

If you are using Apple devices, I won't be surprised if Apple blocks some tracking …

      • Cashback is ineligible on the following:
        Codes not listed on Cashrewards

Is it worth waiting for A55 deals? When compared to A55, A35 has smaller RAM (6GB), weaker processor, and poorer photo qualities. Telstra is now selling A55 for $561 (the phone plus 1 month plan).

    • +2

Its $499 outright, no need to be with any plan, just walk in to any Telstra shop and buy there will do

      • Thanks. Went to Telstra today and bought A55 outright for $499. I think it is worth paying extra $170 for A55 as we plan to keep the phone for minimum 3-4 years. Perfect phone for my son entering the high school stage.

      • +2

Depends what you are comparing with.. $129 for A35 (as per this thread) vs $499 for A55? I would choose the former.

        • +2

$129 option is available only to very limited number of people though? for majority it is still $329.

          • -5

@mutnyi2001: As long as i) you are with Amaysim and ii) you have a phone that isn't compatible with 4g or 5g (in their eyes), you can ask for the $200 off code and buy Samsung A35 for $129. They will give it if you meet these two criteria. #2 isn't ver important as you can always say you have any phone model - you don't have to prove it. They aren't strict about it as long as you are Amaysim customer.

            • +1

@virhlpool: I have spoken with multiple amaysim reps on the phone regarding this deal. They check in their system the phone model that last registered on the mobile network for the quoted amaysim sim number. I had two phones and quoted the 4g non compatible mobile, the rep on both occasions immediately informed me of the other 4g compliant model which was showing in their systems. They didn't offer me the code cause of this.

  • Can anyone confirm if these are Australian versions or Grey market?

    • Australian version: Optus/Amaysim sell these phones & hence they're compatible with their mobile-network.

      • Do you mean won't work on telstra?

        • +1

No-> 'Do you mean won't work on telstra?'

          Telstra also sell A35-> https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/s…

When Samsung-AU distribute these phones here (Australian version & UN-lock), they make sure both hardware & software are compatible with AU-mobile-carriers, including Vodafone.

  • Does anyone order shipped yet …? I ordered Friday morning and it’s still not shipped yet

    • also ordered Friday morning. have you received any tracking email or sms yet?

i received it just an hour ago, but I'm in Sydney - where the parcel is dispatched from as well. it's delivered by startrack and ID is required. may take longer to other state.

      • No email or text

      • Hi tofu, would you be able let me know if the phone supports dual sim? If yes, is it 2 SIMs + SD card slots or hybrid (1 SIM + Choose (another SIM or SD card).

    • Ordered on Thursday, received on Monday

      • Hi mate I heard thru chat from Optus and they confirmed it’s a hybrid dual sim slot … can you able to confirm this or what is the model number you received ..?

        • Same. I spoke with chat & they confirmed its hyrbid dual. If you bought it can you confirm it is acually dual sim or single sim?

  • Question for those who have bought a new phone using $200 or $150 coupon code - if you don't need a new number/service, is it fine if you don't activate that sim at all (and hence no need to stop auto-renewal either)? All I needed was a phone but I had to order a SIM with the first month's plan ($30) along. I am thinking of simply discarding it without even activating, so I don't need to bother about stopping renewal etc.

    • I believe this bundle includes the device with an activated service. You can stop renewing the monthly payment after logging into Amaysim, which I have done.

      • I don't see an option to stop auto renewal. Can you please tell where to go?

Do I have to put SIM FIRST in the phone?

        • +1

If you go into Settings, there is the Auto-renew setting.

          • @bluesky: I can't see Auto renew option, may be once I activate or put SIM in phone, may be then.

            • +2

@BinnyC: Don't need to put SIM in phone.. Just log in into account and activate the number by clicking on a button (it will give you an option). Once done, you will be able to stop auto-renewal in settings for that number.

            • +1

@BinnyC: That may be the case - if so, just do what @virhlpool suggested here

    • At the minimum, just get into your account, look for auto-renew and make sure it is turned off. I did not check whether this auto-renew was turned on before or after sim gets "activated". It is possible this was turned on as soon as the new sim was added (bought). So just to be sure you don't get charged the next cycle of the plan.

  • Thanks OP!

  • how does it compare with this deal of Motorola Moto G84 12GB RAM/256GB Storage $269.10 Delivered / C&C @ BIG W?

    • This is better

  • Managed to get a code via my brother who already replaced his phone recently.
But this didn't come with a screen protector or a phone case. Any recs for what would be appropriate?

  • +2

Small change to this offer. As of today, existing customers are not forced to renew their plan early anymore when purchasing this phone.

    • +1

actually a big change for existing customers

    • what do you mean so existing customer if I am on PAYG plan, i can remain on same so avoid that additional extra $30 cost?

      • Still says payg ineligible when making the order

        • Amaysim chat told me this offer was only available for new and existing customers on 'unlimited plans', not for PAYG customers. I am on a 28 day 32 GB 'unlimited' plan and bought an A35 today without being forced renew early.

          • @achso: Will 7 day $10 unlimited plan count?

            • +1

@silenthillrocks: @silenthillrocks. Not sure. All I know is that the 7 day plan is not part of the options for new customers.

          • @achso: @achso, oh okay. So in your scenario, you were not forced to pay additional $30. Is that right?

            • @s0805: I just tried login to account and do the purchase, I have another service of 28 day 32 GB 'unlimited' plan. On selection it is forcing me the early renewal on that plus adding $40 cost of recharge.

            • @s0805: @s0805. Correct. Not sure why it doesn't work for you. customer service has confirmed to me via chat that no early renewal is required anymore for 'unlimited' customers and it did work for me today.

              • @achso: thanks. I shall try again.

              • @achso: Same. It's telling me that the service will be renewed when I select "Use existing Amaysim Plan"

                • @Toph Beifong: and @achso, I must be doing something wrong here. so on the Motorola listed page, I select "Use an exiting sim plan', log in and, it selects my existing "unlimited 32GB service 04xxxxx". Click on confirm and continue and on page it has costs of $209 for phone + $30 (early renewal for 32GB)….what am i missing.

                  • @s0805: Looks like they've changed their tune again. On chat just now:

"Please be advised that you need to early renew your plan upon purchasing a new device since it is bundled with a plan."

There seems to be no consistency with Amaysim. Each customer service person tells us different things!

                    • @Toph Beifong: appears so. I called them as well. On phone, they did offer me to extend the push the renewal manually back to appropriate date once system processes it. It seems there is no other way but to spend extra $30.

  • Do we have to cancel 30 day plan close to 30 days, will it auto renew?

Or do I have to cancel the plan?

    • Go to your Amaysim app & Turn auto renew off.
It's just below the plan expiry wording.

Just use it up to 28 days then switch to PAYG option.
Then you don't need to continue with the $30/28day Sim plan.
