      Unlike what Rep claimed, it’s slightly cheaper for single origin unroasted at wholesale prices than roasted beans Aldi.

      Same website also has wholesale Ethiopian and Colombian, so either Coffee King has a more expensive wholesale connection, or is just lying about “way cheaper” beans. Maybe the ACCC can get the juice.

      Not an apples/apples comparison. Coffee is nuanced and diverse enough that simply pointing to International Roast-tier beans each time a more expensive product is posted makes zero sense given they are not the same product.

        What we are disputing is that Coffee King claimed the $20/kg beans are “way cheaper” than wholesale, without providing any evidence of the price they pay (so we urged ACCC to see if this claim was supported by facts). We also said is that at low wholesale volumes, it’s laughably easy to find low volume single origin wholesale prices that are the same as the Aldi price, which should be obvious because Aldi also buys wholesale inventory.

                  @DmytroP: First you say it's "half a year old", when they literally stated it's 3 months past roast date. Last I checked 12 weeks isn't 6 months.

                  Then you say there's "no trust" because they were selling "old roast". They were entirely transparent and up front about the product specs and why it was cheap. Guaranteed most supermarket coffee is several months old, and they aren't discounting like that.

                  Finally you complain because they have a subjective opinion on a particular coffee they tried once, in the past. Give the guy a break!
