Seems like they solved whatever issue they were having before. Relative got the bonus points on their first month's statement after meeting the min spend.

      • Thank you. That comment regarding cards issued aftery July had to be manually added to this promo, I am not sure if I have to manually do anything as I just received my card which I applied 2 weeks ago and already made the eligible spend.

  • If I bought a flight ticket with this card and churn after points used, will I face any issues with airlines asking to show credit card

    • +1

I don't remember ever being asked to show the payment method at check in or the gate, only ID or boarding pass.

      • Yeah I bought the Thai airways ticket and the ticket says payment card should be there when travelling. Lol I think after cancellation I will keep the physical card while travelling, not that they can verify if its active anymore.

the ticket says payment card should be there when travelling

Might just be some vestigial thing from bygone past. I don't even know why I still bother printing out the e-ticket these days, they literally only look up your name now to look up if there's a valid booking.

          • @vawiyoci: yes same experience with same airline they never asked but do print this disclaimer on their tickets. I think it would be for those who book the ticket using someone else's credit card

Lol that's bizarre, I've never been asked in my life

        • With credit card fraud I feel this is pretty outdated.

  • If I balance transfer the outstanding amount to another CC, will that affect points accumulated?

    • +1

Balance transfer is simply the other bank paying off your current card so no different than you doing it yourself and therefore shouldn't affect the points in anyway. Unless you try to do refund shenanigans then Suncorp might retract the points lol.

      • Thank you. Refund meaning I call them up for the annual fee refund right?

        • Don't think Suncorp does fee refund. I meant more refund of any purchases you made to reach the minimum spend target, then they might get peeved.
