Coming up on the 14th of July at 4:59pm AEST is the next AliExpress sale with these sitewide coupon codes that'll apply on pretty much anything. Given this is a "middle of the month" sale the discounts aren't as big as some of the previous sales, however if you're looking to buy now you may be able to snap up some good bargains.

Coupons are single redemption each per account, don't stack with the new user 'Welcome Offer / Limited Deals' offers and the minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

How to get the AU$ price in the title with PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

you gotta copy my profile picture now. it's just the rules.

They've sorted out postage to AU in the last 12months. Routinely taking no longer than 2 weeks. Occasionally within a week. Huge improvement on the gamble it used to be

    • +23

Tracked shipping became a requirement after COVID which essentially killed off the awful Singapore Post, China Post and PostNL that took months to arrive. Followed by Alibaba's implementation of Cainiao logistics and finally Choice which is their answer to Amazon. Sellers can stock their products in the AliExpress distribution warehouses which is packed and shipped quickly.

A downside to all of this is that Choice products require a minimum US$10 spend for free shipping. Though a small price to pay if you really need it.

      • +1

I've had Choice items that I've ordered handed over to Singpost in Singapore before making their way to me.

      • +1

i've had multiple of my packages thrown over the fence by the delivery driver from Fasthorse express which i guess is just cainao's version of amazon flex but much sloppier, luckliy i haven't had anything break due to that.

though they may have just been told to throw it over instead of the front porch to reduce liability from stolen packages

        • For me everything is Auspost. There's no fast horse in operating here thankfully.

    • Both my "Choice" orders from end of June and early July have arrived within 7-8 business days each time. Small item orders, some clothing and a mouse.

      • +7

        and a mouse

I thought live exports were banned?

        • +1

          probably a dead mouse

    • +5

Probably because temu entered Australia. Competition

      • +2

They are constantly trying to cut down shipping times. Sometimes it's worse but mostly been improved. Temu is a threat but I always go back to Ali.

      • This was introduced a whole year before Temu, so no.

Besides I've found Temu shipping to be worse. Originally when they launched and you could get freebies without games everything was sent with Auspost Express. Now everything is slow to ship and arrive. At least I get heaps of $5 credit for late delivery.

    • +2

Yep.. I’ve gotten packages from China quicker than I have from WA

  • That seems to be very much dependant on if you buy "choice" items i.e. from AliExpress themselves, not third party sellers.

    But I agree, it's great.

  • +5

Alright which anbernic device we buying this time boys?

    • +2

I fear those days may be over as AliExpress have moved a lot of the popular brand products from their own stores into other individual stores with all the old links going there. There were no discounts in the last sale :(

      • Bugger. Was hoping for a Retroid Pocket 4 pro deal

      • +1

I got lucky in the last retroid pocket deal.. it's the bloody best device . My 4 year old loves it. She's playing sonic heroes/adventures 2 on GameCube perfectly.
Tried the AV out as well . Flawless

        • I got it at that price too but the triggers broke literally day 2, gotta wait on parts now or give up and return it

          • +1

            @Ironic fear: Knocks on wood
I hope you get the triggers.
I haven't had the same misfortune. Good luck buddy

    • +1

So it turns out I was wrong. When they run out of stock the new AliExpress algorithm will redirect you to the next cheapest listing available. I guess that makes it easier for us to find the next best deal.

      • I think I kinda want a miyoo a30 next - the red gold combo been living rent free in my mind for ages now..purely for the look in my display case- I felt it was actually pretty average hardware wise based off reviews lol

  • fingers crossed good dashcam

  • are these coupons currency relative? i recall in one of the past sales the adjusted aud coupon ended up giving bigger discount than checking out via usd.

  • Lets buy some SPIDER-MAN HOT TOYS!!

    • +3

Perhaps this Spiderman transformer watch with an inbuilt projector that I'm sure @WatchNerd can tell us all about :>

      • +1

I'm sorry but I don't buy smart watches.

        • +4

I'm not sure if it's even capable of showing the time lol

      • Haha I actually do want to buy a hot toys spider-man but I am kind of scared I might end up with a counterfeit or something so I may not buy anything … unless someone has a good experience? 👀

        • Don't expect it to be licensed. You can get some pretty good Nerf/web shooter knock offs though.

      • amazing. rofl

I like how they had to tuck away the "tail" in the video.

      • that's certainly a creative watch

  • +5

I hope @jv will be providing a discount on their signed t-shirts.

  • Wow, you almost never see deals like this

  • Hmmm. Will wait for Prime Day and see which one will give a better price on items that I need to purchase

    • Ahhhh that's what this is, they are trying to preempt prime day.

Rare to have so many AliExpress sales back to back only weeks apart.

      Wonder if something is up

      • +1

Yeah it was indeed weird, I just had a small ~$50 haul for the last end of June one but I forgot to order some things and was surprised to see this again so soon. Their deliveries got way faster too, got mine in just a week so really good value there.

        • Ya my bike chainring showed up damn quick but I can't use it while the other stuff is coming haha

  • Last few sales I wasn't able to use the big coupons, was always restocking. I checked every day. Any tips on how to snag one?

    • From the last sale, I had added a few lower dollar coupons before I bought anything so they were ready to go and were automatically applied, however when I unexpectedly bought something more expensive and went to 'collect' one of the bigger dollar coupons it had a state of restocking.

So I just typed the coupon in manually and it did work. Not sure if I just go lucky or not though… But maybe something to try next time. Or this time.

  • Does anyone know of any good deals on 4G/5G smartphones lately? Any recommendations?

  • Maybe will get the cargo pants

    • +3

      Are they cheaper than Kmart?

      • +1

hmm i like the army style with lots of pockets. last i check, around $35 at ali
        let me check kmart
edit yeah fuk kmart so cheap and i can pay with flybuys points as well

        • +2

Great, plus you can try before you buy.

  • -2

So these discounts are they automatically added at check-out? Or one needs to enter the discount codes?

    • If using a browser then manually enter the codes when checking out. Clear once told me that copy/paste is glitched and doesn’t work but typing it in does. If you have the phone app you can tap on codes to collect them (tap & collect?) and they’ll automatically apply as you reach a threshold.

  • +1

Got my last item delivered in 6 days. Fastest I've ever had it.

  • Oh no… screw my wallet I guess.

  • Any good things to buy team?

  • -2

Tried to order one item and get This coupon code is for single use only and can't be used here

    • +2

      It hasn't started yet.

  • Looking for a tablet to replace this awful Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. Trying to play roblox with the kiddo and it can't even handle that! Really need a better spec'd tablet.

    • +1

Coolest tab you will ever find - Bit pricey though now.

      • I am reading that the Chinese rom is fine, just needs tweaking and to avoid the Global rom.

Seen a few listings stating they preinstall the global rom - is this an issue going back to the preferred Chinese rom? I don't see any cheaper ones that are untouched.

        • +1

That's exactly right. Clear gave me the info to avoid unlocked boot loader - Global ROM. Minez shipped with Chinese ROM and it was pretty easy to install Google Play store and get rid of all those chinese apps. Took like 5-10 mins max. Now its clean and I am using it without any issues. Can't be bothered about upgrading my Android. I am fine with existing ver of OS.

        • +1

Trying to get a fake global ROM back onto the Chinese ROM is a massive minefield of navigating Lenovo China's documentation and tablet bricking. It's just not worth it.

      • Almost pull the trigger last sale but considering 2024 model is releasing end of this month, I have decided to hold for a bit and see what's new.

  • Anyone looking at tents? I’m interested in the lanshan 1 3 season. It’s costs about $20 more direct from the manufacturer after this upcoming discount.

    • +2

Lanshan tents are good. They have 1-person and 2-person tents. 1p requires single trekking pole to pitch, and 2p needs two. Both 1 or 2 person tents have two variants, Standard/non-pro and PRO. There are different year models with also seem to have slight improvements but I'm not across these details.

Pro version bit more expensive and is single wall tent (no inner mesh) which means lighter and bit more spacious inside which is important for taller people as it adds ~20cm extra length inside. Even with the extra length, you'll likely need to pull head and foot space out using rope (tied onto extra trekking poles, branches or trees) so that the wall isn't pressing against head or foot/sleeping bag. This is important as condensation build-up inside the walls will touch your head, pillow or sleeping bag. The pro version is also slightly heavier duty silicon-nylon (silnylon) with 20d (pro) instead of 15d (non-pro) but this isn't really a decisino factor for most. The non-pro version comes with an inner tent but is removable which means it can be used like a pro anyway. Note that different colours also have slightly different weights and there are other brands that have same style (almost exactly) but are actually slightly different (particularly in weight!).

      I have both 1p and 2p non-pro versions from 2020 can recommend.

*Added this recommendation to this forum thread as well. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15489113/redir

      • Thanks Donmai. Good to know about the additional space inside with the Pro version but also the condensation issue requiring the pulling out of the head and foot space - is that with existing guy attachments?
I’m not much of a “pro” hiker, currently using a much heavier Zempire Atom 1p at 1.75kg, so the regular Lanshan 1 would be already a great improvement.
        Looking forward to the sale!

        • +1

Yes, guy ropes are included. I often use one or just carry one trekking pole in the bag and use a tree/bush and a branch to tie the guy ropes on to pull the walls out. Sometimes I can use my backpack also at my feet to push the wall out (instead of using the guy rope).

For condensation and also moisture/morning dew, I sometimes use an ultralight hand towel to wipe it down before packing. The I just attach the towel to the outside of my backpack to dry. Sometimes the tent is so wet (from rain), such they I just shove the entire tent into a garbage bag and shove it into the backpack and wipe it down after setting up at the next camp site.

          • +1

@DONMAI: I just bought the Lanshan 1 2024 model for $126 US. Great price for an ultra light tent! It says 230cm length and I’m 180cm, so I’ll try the backpack at my feet as you suggested.
Really looking forward to this! The tent really scrunches down so it’s perfect for bike packing, I’ll I’m looking forward to trying it out soon!
            Thanks for the suggestions

    • +2

I have a 1 Pro and second everything DONMAI said

The main consideration is condensation, so you will want to use all of the guy ropes if possible, and carry something absorbent to wipe it down on days you're packing it away

Overall it is very small and light, with just enough space for a lightweight traveller

      • Thanks for the tips Angus

  • I got my items delivered in 1 week. Incredible how fast Aliexpress is nowadays 😃 .

    • +1

Choice items are stored in Aliexpress distribution warehouse for fast delivery

  • Nothing between 69 and 169? How do you get Coupons before sale starts?

    • You offer AliExpress more then money, if you catch my drift!

  • Any way to not have Fast Horse as the last mile courier? They’ve been rubbish in my area.

  • +1

Does anyone know if you can combine items from mixed sellers (or even from the same seller) to get up to the US$169 value?
I'm guessing CR will not work when a coupon is used?

    • +2

You can mix products and cashback stacks.

  • Can a nab debit card opt out international fees? How do we check it?

  • +1

Are codes working for anyone ? I have Aliexpress on USD and Paypal is selected but no of the codes work. It says - Sorry, this coupon code is not currently applicable in your country or region

    • Are you using the SALE codes? No VPN masking your location?

    • Doesn't work for me too

    • $3 off $29 code worked for me.
Didn't try any other codes, since I wasn't buying much.

  • Did the codes changed. I thought I saw something else, which did not worked. This works. My bad

    • +1

Yes the codes were updated two days ago.
