The fragility of the nu-male political view on display for all to see…

    • That’ll learn em!

  • +11

does it taste bitter and over roasted?

  • +3

    Ooof. What a marketing failure.

    • +21

You're talking about it. In marketing that is considered a win.

      • +8

true, 87 comments in 43 minutes.

      • +6

Yes at a very basic level without actual thinking any marketing is good marketing. Like you could put a NK dictator or Putin on it and it would generate the same sort of fuss.

But if you actually care about your brand then no, this is just stupid. Can't see it being actually effective beyond the normal crowd that would buy this.

You don't even know what the brand is, it's just "Trump coffee" effectively. If you think this is a marketing success you don't know much about marketing.

        • +7

Upvotes 3x the downvoting sooks, then went OOS…not how I'd define failure.

        • it's just "Trump coffee" effectively.

Yep and you now know it's exists. How many other new coffee brands can you say the same thing about?

If you think this is a marketing success you don't know much about marketing.

If you think this is a marketing failure you don't know much about marketing.

They've sold over a dozen bags and only 3 left at the time of this comment. Their controversial marketing choice has succeeded. All these negative votes have attracted attention and it's paid off in their favour.

Now had the deal got no votes it would have disappeared amongst the other new deals.

EDIT: Now sold out. Sorry negging my comment to try and censor me (the American way) hasn't helped your cause. OP can thank you guys for all the attention you attracted to the deal and now they're laughing all the way to the bank.

      • +1

"All the way to the bank" with 15 bags sold. What a bunch of geniuses.

        • +1

Before this deal they had 0 sold. Now in under 2 hours with this post they had them all sold. Everyone commenting, voting, downvoting and clicking this deal has successfully got the OzBargain algorithm to make this deal front page. Congrats!

If I was wrong they'd have 0 sold and this deal wouldn't be front page lol

          • @Clear: Low bar, indeed. Why am I not surprised?

            • +3

@mickeyjuiceman: Evidently you are surprised that their marketing trick paid off. Or are we still going to pretend that they weren't successful in selling all their stock? Because that's what cookers do.

        • +1

How many have you sold so we many compare?

    • +4

"It's only a marketing success if it says what I agree with" 🤓

  • +8

    Beans from 'shit hole' countries?

    • +4

You must be referring to the illegal aliens

  • +7

I’m curious why this company decided to market it this way. Trump is generally unpopular in Australia, and by the number of negs this deal has, it certainly doesn’t bode well for people trying out the coffee, even just for kicks.

    • +4

Don't have to get the majority to buy it, the cooker market is plenty big enough.

      • -3

They won't have enough to buy it after spending their welfare money.

    • +6

They are also selling MAGA caps. So weird and random.

During the pandemic a lot of try hard seppos made the local news.

      • They are based in Ipswich Queensland…

    • +7

Piggybacking on the fact there's enough rubes with money to attend Tucker Carlson's conference here

    • Trump is generally unpopular in Australia

Is he? This article says support is almost at 30% which about the same as Albanese or Dutton.

it certainly doesn’t bode well for people trying out the coffee, even just for kicks.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niche_market

      • Fair enough, higher than what I saw previously (article suggests 22% in last election)

    • +1

Trump is generally unpopular in Australia

Saying publicly that you like Trump in Australia is unpopular. That's not the same thing.

  • +6

    Yuck

  • +12

Is the coffee that bad you need to get peoples attention by putting trump on the bag

    • +2

They could have put a photo of skeletor too maybe!

  • +7

    Make Adulterator Great Again

  • +3

    Original price $50 for $1kg

    WTF. Gotta be fake news

  • +7

"Freshly" roasted last financial year? From three "shithole" countries?

No wonder they picked this stupid name, it's a warning that it's only for cookers…

  • +1

Tempted to buy it just to make 16oz cups of outrage at work. xD

    • +1

I'd be pulled in front of HR or whatever euphemistic name they have rebranded to in current day.

  • +11

You know TDS is real when a harmless coffee post has so many negs.

    • But Sydney Morning Herald, Channel 9, 10, and ABC say Orange Man Bad, so it must be true. These soyboy simps will believe anything the news tells them.

      • +1

SMH owned by notorious lefty Peter Costello (until recently)? Hmmm. Only missing “woke” off my bingo card.

SMH publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016: https://www.smh.com.au/national/donald-trump-should-quit-pre…

You only have to Google 'smh Trump' to see the massive overload of TDS that affects most media outlets these days. The good news is that people are waking up to these lies.

      • They trying to avoid using the word orange now because Biden turned orange recently too

  • +21

I find it baffling that any business would want to associate their product with the cesspool that is US politics. Might as well do a limited edition cancer blend.

    • +10

Unfortunately the dementia blend isn't so popular.

    • +1

Any publicity is good publicity for small business.

      • +5

This sentiment is only shared by those who know nothing about marketing, branding, and so on.

        • lol ok

  • +9

I'm assuming that these are not ethically sourced.

  • +7

I will never watch your show, buy any of your products - or brake if I see you crossing the street

  • +1

Marketing strategy spot on. Well played.10/10

  • +11

Political bias to promote a deal is wrong!

  • +16

$38 for some lame joke beans from an actual MAGA idiot. You're dreaming OP.

    • +7

Fair play, they've actually sold quite a few bags by the looks of it. Grifting alive and well on the right, they lap this culture war stuff up and will buy anything if they think it will upset the Libs.

      • +1

they lap up this culture war stuff

Is that why there's so many deranged comments & unsubstantiated neg votes? It's a coffee deal, the fact it causes such epic & involuntary butthurt simply because of the name speaks volumes about those doing the downvoting.

        • +5

It goes both ways - look at the very first comment. I'll bet many upvoting this have never voted on a coffee deal before.

  • only here for the comments, don't even drink much coffee.

  • +2

    lol

fun to see all the negs, not sure if they have tried the coffe or know anything about it.

but the packaging (which I believe was the main selling point), wasn't a vivid recreation of Trump, that was the real killer for this one. the hair wasn't even gold…

  • Ill sweeten mine with the republican oh so sweet victory syrup in November. Until then ill freeze it and, i suppose it will then be a like Bidens brain, in stasis.

    • I was reliably informed he won last time

  • +16

We really can't escape this culture war BS. Coffee is sacred

  • +28

The extreme polarisation and hate in these comments is so f'n sad to see. Australians for the most part used to be able to disagree respectfully. This American political trash has turned everyone into actual c#nts that no one aside other c#nts would want to spend more than a second with. Please just move to America and be c#nts to each over there.

    • +7

Reminds me when I had dinner with an American colleague. I told him I don't enjoy discussing politics for the reasons you mentioned. He agreed me with and said the discourse in USA is so divisive. And then said 'and all those trump supporters are such f'n idiots'. Good times lolol.

    • +4

Yep - we love importing their culture wars and hate.

    • -6

This is multiculturalism in action. We tried to warn you that it wouldn't be all good, but you wouldn't listen…

  • +1

These beans are just the Rorschach test of the coffee world. It’s either MAGA (Make Americano Great Again) or BBB (Build Beans Better).

Whilst technically it’s still a deal, with Biden or Trump I’m not sure which way to vote … I’m sure both will leave a bitter after taste.

  • +3

came here for the comments not the beans!

  • -1

If the beans aren't 100% grown in the USA, they're not real Trump beans

  • +2

Jesus. People saying a lot of stupid shit on this thread. It's not our country guys why do you support either or them. They are both completely inadequate to lead a country by about 30 years

  • +20

Keep your stupid american crap out of Australia, losers

    • -1

      He types on his iPhone.

    • -1

You literally have a picture of an American as your avatar…

  • +4

Looks like the Trump disease spread all over the world just like COVID.

    • +1

People saying a lot of stupid shit on this thread. It's not our country guys why do you support either or them.

      Not even 2 minutes apart.

      Hypocrisy thy name is Soyjak

  • +19

Let’s keep the crazy in America. Why are you trying to politicise coffee? Sigh why is an Aussie company selling MAGA hats?!?

  • +13

Hahaha good for a laugh. Up vote. Lighten up folks.

    • +6

Spot on. Wayyyy to much lefty outrage in here. It's just for lols….. and it's delivering.

      • Deep state cool aid is hella strong this time

    • +8

Yeah all these neggers taking offence because this isn't America are literally acting like Americans who take offence to everything. Oh how we've forgotten to take a joke around here.

      • +11

I'm not offended by it, I'm just disheartened. People think the hate is funny. That's not a good place to be in as a society.

        • -3

Ok let me rephrase. Most neggers…

          • +4

@Clear: Cheers. I'm not totally disagreeing with you either, I think people are generally way too easily offended these days. I just think we all used to get along better in general before Trump was a thing, and I hate to see how it is changing people in this country. Peace :-)

            • +4

@Stevesie76: Agreed. I've taken this deal to be a joke and it's funny but also quite sad to see people take real serious offence to it.

              • +4

@Clear: I guess it wouldn't be completely crazy for someone who has been sexually assaulted or had their lives seriously affected by policies such as those Project 2025 are putting forward should he take office again to be seriously offended by someone using his likeness to promote a product. I could kind of understand that if I put myself in that position.

          • @Clear: dude… can't use the n word here

        • +2

Yet you downvoted the deal because, why? You are moaning about political discourse degrading over time? You're whinging about the problem all the while you are part of the problem.

          • +6

@Ham Dragon: It's a fair comment you make and I did consider it myself. For one I'd argue it's not a good deal. You can get decent beans at Aldi for a lot less, as just one example. I'd also argue that the product and its marketing aren't created in good faith and they were very likely hoping it would stir up hate in order to get noticed. I just don't think that's a good thing for society. I'm trying to engage in good faith discussion myself and I hope others do the same, despite my downvote. My first comment was probably a bit much though; I'd redo that one if I could. The Trump stuff taking off here has really gotten to me and I'm getting fed up. So for that first heated comment I apologise. Peace!

      • I’m not offended.

I have lived in America. My wife and kids are American, watching what has happened to America in the last decade is depressing. People taking pleasure in “destroying” another group of people who believe something different politically hasn’t helped the country or society at all.

Feeling superior to another group or sub culture drives us to behaviour that doesn’t help anyone long term. I desperately hope Australia avoids this divided future, but it’s not looking good. This division and creating of “otherness” distracts us from the very real issues at hand that are causing massive issues.

I’m just sad. This discourse isn’t helping. Let America sink themselves, let’s not make the same holes in our boat.

    • +4

      Yeah I think it's hilarious :D

    • +3

People need to grow a sense of humour.

  • +12

Misleading…its not even a fresh roast

I guess theyre trying to match the brand?

  • -5

This is a good way to alienate quite a few of the coffee drinkers out there. Honestly this has to be one of the dumbest advertising campaigns I’ve seen. Why not just list that the beans are from regions that Trump would stop people coming in from.

Thanks for this I will not be tempted to buy from you guys in the future.

    • +13

News in! Old mate cant take a joke! Must be a fantastic good time at social gatherings! Read all about it!

      • -1

Fortunately will not be at any social gathering I will be going to. This sort of thing acts as a really good shortcut. Oh, you are one of those. Well I won’t be wasting my time. I know the MAGA people don’t like it but, I suspect, they aren’t the hard core coffee drinkers.

Also the OP can put any sort of crap beans he likes because the target market aren’t very discerning.
