German imported stock with 5Ghz band.
Need to upgrade my aging AC68U, and found this 1 pack version of this for $290 nicely fit for small claim item.

Yeah typo
Not sure you can use this in Australia. Something about different frequencies and illegal if used. Somebody more knowledgeable might want to clear this up I may have no idea what I'm on about
Not just frequencies but output power of German//EU devices are locked to values far lower than Australia. This is set by Asus from the factory & not something that can be modified afterwards.
No point in having a hobbled Wi-Fi device…
Ah good to know. There's a reason there's almost no international router deals on here
Wrong. I have this router and I can change the region. I'm currently set at USA, which gives the most flexible freq. options.
But that does nothing to the reduced max power output programmed in to the EU models. Lower output = lower range which isn't something anyone looks for in a Wi-Fi device.
@xuqi: Do you own this router? Have you actually tested this yourself?
I am able to activate frequencies that are not meant for Australia. Nothing seems to be limited by the firmware including the power.
$270 with coupon for the single.
oh yeah i forgot, i did apply the coupon ended up with $270
Brought ASUS ZenWiFi XD6S - the satellite unit keeps on disconnecting from main unit (connected wirelessly). Then got a replacement from Amazon, and it had same thing. Finally sold off the unit on gumtree. I hope this one is an upgrade, and I’m not buying Asus again 🤦🏻♂️
they are rock solid. most likely incorrect user configuration. did you update to latest firmware?
Spent hours troubleshooting and firmware was the first step.
Apparently EU routers have half the transmission power.
That table is from 2015 and you're free to change the region and remove region specific restrictions.
I am not 100% maybe experts can chime in, but the transmission power etc are hardcoded from factory and changing regin doesn't change that.
Here's some more up-to-date links listing info, and power output isn't something you can change via the Asus device interface by changing the country code..People are free to believe whatever they want though..
