Shipping isn't free for anyone. We offer local pick up from Melbourne if emailed

      • Where are you located for pickup?

        • Brighton East 3187

it's free if i have amazon prime

        • +1

It's more expensive on Amazon, but about the same if you consider the $8 for shipping with this offer.

        • +16

People believing shipping being free is a level of marketing success I can’t still comprehend. (This includes me, I instinctively lean towards Amazon for this reason + easy return…)

@Larsson: Free shipping helps people avoid bill shock.

I still occasionally hit up local Australian online stores which are obviously overcharging on their postage. More often than not, their websites are designed to tell you this as late as possible. They figure that you've sunk time picking stuff, filling a cart and putting in an address that you'll keep going.

Also, in many cases, I still find distributors (like Amazon) who are price matching with free (Prime) delivery, and the other vendors are still charging postage, and there arent my other cheaper sellers.

So yep, i agree that in some cases, the "free shipping" is misleading (where prices have just been inflated), but we really have gotten to the point where bigger vendors/distributors are undercutting their margins and paying the shipping and giving the consumers a better deal.

Shipping needs to be in the title.

Yeah sorry didn't realise it was a requirement

@Zaitronics: don't just aimlessly down vote, this isn't a terrible deal and he made a small mistake.

    Perfect for key ring 😉

      fashionable

    • Great for tearing up your pockets

      • +3

First of all, you cant take a joke. But it is possible to make a keyring. Just remove the usb socket and sandpaper the edges like some cricketers would do 😉

        • I didn't down vote you buddy

At $5 this is a good price, but the shipping definently ruins the deal, is shipping still $8 if you buy multiple?

    • +5

      Shipping is free over $50

  • Does anyone know if this works with pihole? Cheers

    • There is no network connectivity, hence no.

      • Cool thanks. I'm not too up to speed on these things 👍

        • Your cheapest option would be Pi Zero W, but this is perfect for key ring tho 😉

    • No, but you can use a similarly priced ESP32 board:

Or Raspberry Pi Pico W with WiFi

Core electronics is $9.30 delivered. They put it in an envelope, so $6 plus $3 postage. Great shop too.

How are you guys using this ? A micro controller for DIYers is a bit strange ..How and where do you guys use these ?

Thanks .. thats more of a hobby project though ..so is it just for the tinkerers or is there a practical use that saves money or outperforms commercial offerings ?

        • Oh, I thought you were asking about DIY projects. I'm afraid I don't understand what you're asking then.

        • +2

These sort of micro controllers can be used to create affordable version of commercial products such as home automation appliances and alarms. Most people still only use them for mini projects such as a temperature monitoring system. This is an example https://zaitronics.com.au/blogs/main/building-an-arduino-tem…
          I hope this helps

          • @Zaitronics: Ok I get it now..thanks ..it is aimed at hobbyists

I use them to mod Guitar Hero controllers so that all the inputs run through the Pi Pico and you can then use the guitar controller on any console or device directly wired giving you the absolute least possible input delay and best experience. Excellent for getting old controllers working on Clone Hero for PC.

I’m hard pressed to choose this over the convenience of an ESP32 that can connect to network if needed

    • Exactly. A seeed xiao esp32c3 is abt $8 and half the size

    • Consider that there are architectural differences between 2040 and ESP chips that make them more desirable in different projects. Pico W supports WiFi if needed :-)

  • Can this be used to setup homekit?

    • No network connection

  • Cant load the website. I get domain not found.

Have you tried turning the internet off, and back on again?

    • Web site is loading fine for me.

    • Hold ctrl + shift + R. This will do a hard refresh of the page

    • Not sure what happened. Works fine now
