Kmarts tech deals on clearance are getting gooood

  • Is there any way I can use this to trick my tv to send Bluetooth to two seperate bt headphones at the same time?

I think the tv has the option to send audio via wired connection and Bluetooth simultaneously.

    • Seems this one isn't capable of sending to two BT headphones at the same time.

    • +30

3.5mm splitter and a pair of these would probably get the job done.

      • Good idea, I'll try that. Already have a splitter and currently using that, but would prefer wireless.

        • Why do you prefer wireless?

          • +2

@bleeder: Because he damaged 4 tv’s already when he got up to go the toilet and forgot he was attached to the tv.

        • Connect the splitter to your TV and buy 2 of these. It will be still (mostly) wireless.

    • +2

There are transmitters that have dual-link to send to two headphones. Or, use a splitter and two of these!

Edit: oh, if your TV can do Bluetooth and headphone out at the same time, it should work just using one of these.

    • +2

Buy three of these. BT source -> this adapter in RX mode -> headphone splitter cable -> 2x this adapter in TX mode -> 2x BT headphones

    • +8

I'd have concerns about the latency if you used one of these with a TV, especially if you tried to mix it with the inbuilt bluetooth.

You'd never get the latency compensation for the inbuilt bluetooth (automatic) to line up with the latency adjustments (manually in the settings) you'd need to do for the wired one with transmit dongle attached?

      • +1

I bought two so I'll try with one using Bluetooth and the other inbuilt Bluetooth and if the latency doesn't match, then I'll use two connected to a y splitter as suggested above.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

        Bruce Lee classic mode…

    • Funny I came here to ask this exact same question! Got a 2 year old in a small apartment, would be nice to watch a movie with my wife from time to time without worrying about the volume waking him.

      • +1

I use Apple TV as both me and my wife has Airpods. It can do two bluetooth at the same time (though not sure if strictly Apple airpods, probably not)

  • Does this one remember the last paired device? Most do and I kinda expect that, but it would be good to have one to share between two people/phones who want to use a set of (old non-BT) speakers.

  • Silly question - can I use this for an aircraft? With a stereo adapter?

    • +2

If the plane has 3.5mm jack then yes

      • +1

It usually has the dual 3.5mm jacks. So I can use an adapter, convert the 2 into 1, plug this in, then transmit from the aircraft via BT to my headset. Right?

        • +2

          Yes.

And some planes may have the dual headphone connector however the sockets may also support stereo so you may not always need an adaptor

          • @spaceflight: Also, at least some airlines supply 3.5mm headphones with an adaptor to 2 pin that you can remove so you could use that adaptor.

        • +1

Yes, will work with the adapter

        • Thanks everyone! Got a couple to try!

  • +1

Thanks Clear. This could save my old set of speaker going to the council clean up

  • +1

Can anyone confirm if this support the low latency codecs? SBC or aptx?

      • Thanks! Looks like it supports SBC

      • +1

        Compliant with Bluetooth V5.1+BR+EDR+BLE specification

I knew the 5.3 in the title looked highly dubious.

That said, functionally identical for the vast majority of people.

        • +2

That said, functionally identical for the vast majority of people.

It is still misleading for Kmart to advertise 5.3

          • @spaceflight: It seems there is a conflict between the USER manual (date free information) stating "Working range :10M
Bluetooth version: 5.3" and the (possibly earlier manual from earlier model) , stating "Bluetooth
            Compliant with Bluetooth
            V5.1+BR+EDR+BLE specification" (printed after 20/03/2020) AC6956F Datasheet

        • That said, functionally identical for the vast majority of people.

It means no Bluetooth LE Audio support too, which will become more important in the future.

          • +1
            • @sam buster: Seems to be more of a vague opinion piece than any sort of objective comparison. And the fact they consider high-res audio as remotely important is a red flag for their credibility.

There's also nothing stopping a manufacturer including both standards, with LE Audio just being used for low latency purposes only.

  • +3

Great for allowing the PS5 to connect to Bluetooth speakers/earphones. Use the audio port on the controller.

  • I have a few of these style devices. They will often act as a soundcard if plugged into a computer

    • My desktop doesn't have Bluetooth with it.
Can I plug this into my PC with the USB cable and connect it with my Bluetooth earphone?

Or, can I use 2 of these and pair my PC and my speakers in kitchen together with bluetooth?

      • My desktop doesn't have Bluetooth with it.
Can I plug this into my PC with the USB cable and connect it with my Bluetooth earphone?

        That depends

Or, can I use 2 of these and pair my PC and my speakers in kitchen together with bluetooth?

        Transmitter and receiver, yes

      • +1

Quite possibly. These often use JieLi chipsets that are quite capable. If I were a gambling man, I'd say the odds are at least 3:1 that you could plug it your computer and connect it to your headphones.

Making a bluetooth audio bridge (what you describe in your second point) could be a bit harder. But still possible.

        • Thanks, I will get 2 and try.
If it doesn't work, I will just return them.

        • If the PC has a 3.5mm audio out socket, will this one definitely work? I presume so, but wanted to check.

    • +2

Not this one. Computer doesn't detect it at all when plugged in, so clearly charging only.

  • Thanks Clear, needed some more of these for my old Bose Lifestyle system and DJ equipment.

    • Latency is likely to be an issue with DJ use

      • Yeah, thanks, I haven’t done it before but hopefully not. Otherwise I have some non-bt Edifier speakers that I can use as fold backs to keep it tight.
I resisted the temptation to get 2 x Partybox 1000 on Boxing Day special. I’ll try to just use my old stuff.

    • DJing with the latency of Bluetooth sounds like a nightmare.

      Edit: beaten by above.

  • +1

Plenty at Macquarie - grabbed for my upcoming flight. Cheers OP!

  • I wonder if two of these could be set up as a sender/receiver to hook a TV through its headphone jack to a speaker system.

Instruction manual says something about selecting "anko43363803" as the Bluetooth audio source, so probably not.

Also wonder if it functions while permanently plugged into USB-C. I have a bunch of annoying gadgets that can't function while charging.

    • Works fine while charging.

The bit about selecting anko* is only when it's in receiver mode. If you were using it in transmitter mode it'll just connect to the first BT device it sees, so as long as your speaker is in pairing mode it should just connect to it.

  • +11

Not marked down at my local store, but did scan for $5 so grabbed one.

Very basic, but seems to work fine. Only Codec that's supported appears to be SBC. Latency is what you'd expect for SBC - it's visible but probably not enough for you to care about, so it'll work OK on a plane/etc, but not perfectly.

USB-C, which is for powering/charging only. Computer doesn't detect it at all when plugged in.

  • Is this a good option to pair your phone to my car’s old Aux in ?

    • Sure but there are better options designed for cars that do the same thing like this sort of thing: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126516542581

      • +1

        But 4x the price

        • +2

Auto-power on (which this one doesn't have) makes that 4x worth ever cent!

    • Main issue would be the battery eventually dying in the Australian heat. Better option would be a dedicated unit powered through USB or cigarette lighter.

      • The whole 120mAh pouch cell…

      • Fortunately it can be powered via USB -C

        • If the battery bulges from the heat it won't power on

          • @star-ggg: Exactly the reason why I’m replacing my current Bluetooth transmitter with the one in this deal.

    • +3

I can recommend the Baseus from either eBay or Aliexpress
      https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/33007986020.html

  • $19 put me off… Tags weren't up. They look better than what's on eBay under $19.

  • Perfect for my needs, thanks OP. I lost the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable for my Bose QCs and just bought a replacement cable on Amazon for $8. This is much better for $5, will be returning the cable. Cheers

    • Every time I want to return on Amazon, they charge me $8 to send the item back, which if in your case, meant I would get a $0 refund after returning the item.

This is with Amazon Prime. How do you do it?

      • Not sure l, I don’t actually do many returns, I’m just here on holiday. But I had it delivered to a local Amazon locker and my pickup emails say:

“If you can't pick up your package, it will be returned for a full refund.”

So I’ll just let it time out and hopefully I’ll get the refund as stated.

  • Ordered one, excellent pair with my ps portal. Thanks OP.

  • Cheers. This will convert my old Bose QC15's to BT to wear when I'm mowing the lawn :P

  • Sorry if the answer is obvious- I cant tell even by reading the instruction manual! Will this plug into a receiver that doesnt have bluetooth built-in, and essential allow bluetooth streaming? I am reading a lot about this connecting to speakers etc, but not receivers

    • I can confirm. Connect 3.5mm to receiver RCA input or whatever

  • Thanks OP. This will complete my garage set up with 2 decent speakers I found in the bin room and an old amplifier

  • $5! That's wild. I really like using WiiM units for 'cast' type playing of music on devices, but this will be a good backup

  • About 4 left on the hook at Broadway, NSW

  • Is this one useable while charging in practice? I have a couple of old generic/unbranded ones that as soon as you plug it in the audio gets very loud electrical buzzing and distortions on it, so you can't "really" use it while charging.

  • -2

Think before you buy 90% the rest of the 'goods'. It's petrochemical, shit quality landfill.

    Old TV+Chromecast, now Old hifi+BT receiver 👍👍👍

  • Received a cancellation and refund email :(

    • +1

Yep I always have to go instore for Kmart orders. Walked in found heaps on the shelf. Seems staff cbf.

      • So do you think there's a chance my local still has stock? It was of course the store I chose for C&C.

        • If it shows Low Stock I'd say it's very unlikely.

          • @Clear: Big W seems the same. eg They'll leave stuff on the website for close to a year after they deplete stock. How hard is it to keep the website accurate in 2025,FFS.?
You see what you want, order, pay etc, and under a day later,'yeah nah' 'got none'. Piss poor planning.
Would not surprise me if some of these events trigger staff to empty the shelves themselves for personal ,family and friends etc.

EDIT and each time they get your data for free.To do with it, what they wish.

      • Kmart is a shame.

I should not trust your Click to Collect because you do not deliver. I have lost 2 good deals because your attitude is unprofessional. Although the product was available when I placed the order, I trusted their Click to Collect instead of going to the store directly. As a result, the order was canceled, and I do not have the product.
        What a horrible company.

        • You must be a novice CLEARANCE stock shopper!

It's always a gamble, no matter what the store. Especially so with clearance stock during a sale period!!

product was available when I placed the order

It may not have been available! But showed it was at that time. Most stores have a delay in updating stock levels online.
          There is a big difference!!

When you order for C&C, there is a delay before the item is searched for in store.

If the product is on the shelf, but sold to other customers before staff find it - may be no product for you. Same as if you went into a store.

Stock systems are unreliable & not necessarily up to date - in all stores.
People / staff place items in wrong place. Staff then can't find item that is showing on their store's system. Staff then learn not to be bothered & don't thoroughly check.

Went to only store in area showing stock of a popular clearance product. I was lucky - staff member helped me find it… down back of shelves.
C&C staff haven't got the time or inclination to do that for an online order!

          Solutions:

Savvy shoppers ring the store to have stock put aside for them. It still shows as in stock, but is actually at the service counter! Ensures your item!

OnePass has an Express C&C delay of 2hr. But has been next day recently. Will still be cancelled if not found.
Just used it for this purchase. But with over 8k clicks… may be out of stock. So also placed free delivery order to be sure.
Ordering for delivery means it may be sourced from any distant stores in your State. Increasing your odds

          Celebrate your minor wins🎉
Rather the whinge about the inevitable losses with popular CLEARANCE stock!

    • I must be lucky - my pickup email just arrived. West Lakes location, I bought 2.

  • What is the quality of this likely to be when in receiver mode? E.g if playing lossless on my phone and have it selected as Bluetooth will it play through my amp lossless?

  • I saw a few comments about how to connect two BT devices at the same time. I bought a UGREEN BT 5.2 Transmitter to use two BT headsets on my TV, before discovering the TV had that feature already, lol. Might sell if I can't return it. One of these could be an option for anyone chasing that feature.

  • +1

I bought this to try connected to the 3.5mm output of my TV. It works, but there is a significant delay between lips and audio (using Jabra Elite 3 buds if that is significant).
Does anyone have suggestions of what I need to look for in buying another Bluetooth transmitter that minimises this delay?
Do the headphones need to support any specific feature for low latency?
Any suggestions for a specific device?

    • Look up "low latency" devices & standards.
Gave up using using Sony Bluetooth headphones with TV due to latency issue.

      • Any recommendations for cheap but good low latency Bluetooth transmitters?

        • You need both your headphones and the transmitter to support low latency codecs which makes it tricky. I eventually gave up and bought Avantree gear, they specialise in TV headphones and sell matching transmitters + cans.

      • I have a newish Sony TV and Sony BT headphones, and depending on "something" there sometimes is a delay, sometimes not. I think it's to do with the sound mode on the TV, or having the headphones in some specific mode, possibly in one that allows pairing with two devices. Enough to drive me mad though, as the headphones seem to reset and default their settings every now and then. And because the TV settings are specific to each input and I swap between using external speakers and the BT headphones. Just never seems to be right.

  • +1

No word from Kmart after ordering online 2 days ago. Folded and went in store to grab one (I loathe shopping centers).

I had 2 faulty AliExpress Bluetooth receivers, one with an overheated battery, one that would clip every 10seconds.

This anko unit is quick to pair, simple to use, no sound issues. So far 10/10.

  • So only SBC?

    • Yeah no aptX here.

  • out of stock on line!

  • Any noticeable lag from a tv to bluetooth headphones?
