Hi OzBargain,

We've been super super smashed from the overwhelming amount of support for our EOFY deals! Today we've got another couple all time low banger AM5 latest generation platform well-rounded rigs for 1080P and 1440P gaming to continue our EOFY sales. The base model has 32GBs of 6400MHz RAM and a 650W 80+ Silver PSU for ultimate value for bargain hunters who want souped up rigs. The 7800XT is the best bang for buck 1440P GPU we think at this stage, well future-proofed as well on the latest platform.

  • Is this build efficient for 4k video editing? Plan to buy a desktop for youtube video editing etc.

    • +1

Yes, both are great. To my knowledge rendering a video requires a bit of GPU grunt, the higher you go the better it is for rendering. 7500F is a fast enough CPU to do 4K editing along with ample 32GBs of RAM for plenty of multitasking :).

  • +1

What would the Rx 7800xt equivalent be in NVIDIA?

    • Would be stronger than the RTX 4070 and a bit slower than RTX 4070 Super. So kind of in between, check out the benchmarks here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJz2NedX7EI

      • Thanks, very much appreciate your response.

  • +1

I always get excited then see the size of the mobo

    • +1

That's how we can do what we do! We have MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wi-Fi ATX if that suits you as upgrade?

      • I get it, what's the additional cost for that (or the cheapest other full sized mobo) please?

        • +1

$150 to upgrade to the MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wi-Fi ATX. This would be the next best priced ATX motherboard on hand :).

If you want higher in the range we have ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A also.

  • Any recommendation for a video editing machine that can also do semi decent gaming? Work as a graphic designer but am starting to do more video editing and after effects so my 7 year old PC is starting to struggle. Would also like play games if possible but its a secondary want than a need.

I'm thinking i would need to get as much ram as possible (32gb/64gb?) and a good CPU? Prefer the AMD setup as i believe it is more bang for your buck.

    • +1

I would say the Deimos is a great all-rounder rig for you, you can do all of the above and still have rendering capacity with the RTX 4060. The GPU will be well more than enough for decent gaming on 1080P :).

32GBs is a good start, can always upgrade to 64GBs if you need depending on how much multitasking you're doing. The higher you go with CPU/RAM the better you get with productivity tasks and multitasking capability!

Any questions please let me know.

      • Thanks for the reply. looks good to me! Was thinking to bump the CPU up to the 7 series with 8 cores as i was reading the cores help with video editing speed. Would i need to upgrade any other parts if i were to go with the 7700? Also is there a way to get 64gb ram in the prepackage or will i just have to order an extra 32gb?

        • +1

Just an aftermarket cooler like the AG400 black ARGB is more than enough if you go with a 7700X. The 7700 comes with a stock cooler. Yes, you can upgrade RAM to 64GBs on the system builder :).

Let me know if you get stuck or if you have any other questions.

          • @Nebula PC: Sorry i didnt get my shit together to order in time for end of fin year as i had a crazy weekend. Will look at buying in the next couple of months as i see AMD is about to release their new chipsets. Will look out for new deals from you guys!

  • The dude at nebula pc naming these must be playing a lot of rainbow six 😂😂 This is like the 10th one with a r6 related name

    • I just counted there's 18 of them 😂

      • hahaha, there are only so many gaming PC names I can think of.

  • Are there any other smaller case options on the echo?

    • +1

I would say DK100 would be one of the smallest cases you can get for the GPU and form factor. GPU is roughly 30cm in length so it's a bit tough with smaller cases, unfortunately. If we go ITX route it would cost a lot more when it comes to ITX components :(.

Let me know if it suits you!

      • Would you have the CH370 case instead of the DK100? Hoping to make a purchase this month.

  • +2

A real pity you guys are using Global Express for delivery.

    1. They can't provide a delivery window more granular than a day.
    2. They can't commit to re-delivery on a certain day.
    3. If you miss the delivery they take up to 2 business days to even let you know when they MIGHT be able to attempt re-delivery.
    4. Their website tracking functionality works less than 50% of the time.
    5. It takes more than 30 minutes for a live chat operator to start chatting with you (forget about trying to contact them by phone).
    • The truth is logistics is a nightmare, you have to choose the one that's the least worst. You will never find a courier that has exceptional service and ticks all your boxes, it's impossible considering how large the national network is. They've been the best for us in terms of speed and service, if you face any troubles please let us know and will happily take care of it. Otherwise, please let us know what courier you prefer and we'll book the one you prefer provided the costs are reasonable.

There's always a solution to these kinds of issues, at the end of the day no matter what courier we choose there will be unpleasant experiences. We've chosen the one with the least of them.

      • +1

I'd say Aus Post is the best option.

My PC is already with Global Express and I'm having difficulties with them. At this stage I don't know what day they'll attempt redelivery, and whether I can even be home that day.

If I can't be, or miss delivery, it will be another 3 business days before I have the option of getting it.

        • AusPost I've had the same nightmares as well, the problem is our consignments all require a signature and we've had issues with them with this. They want the volume-based small items like satchels and all authority to leave. For AusPost it's not suitable for the size of our cartons unfortunately, it costs nearly triple. If you order with us next time, I'm more than happy to look into AusPost for you as experiences will vary greatly depending on area and various factors.

          • @Nebula PC: Yeah, I hear you, I'm thinking purely from an end customer perspective, whereas you need to consider a lot more.

From a customer perspective (and I've used Aramex, Fastway, Couriers Please, DHL, TNT, Fedex, Auspost, as well as Sendle), Global Express have been the worst of all a really bad bunch.

If only a decent player would enter the market.

            • +1

@prhino: Understand. In future, let us know if you do order with us and we will try other couriers that are viable for both of us. I think Aramex would be okay and maybe next best for us both.

              • @Nebula PC: Aramex would be the worst rated courier 😁

1.1 on trust pilot and 1.2 on product review 🤣

                • +1

@XXRydeR: See, doesn't matter what courier we choose. Everyone is the worst, doesn't matter who or what it is. There's no winning in choosing a courier for your business, everyone is bad.

  • For someone who last played games when Quake was current, which of the games would you recommend?

    • Lots of AAA titles are on the market now instead but Quake would be most similar to fast FPS games like CS2 and Valorant, though you may not like it as games have changed a lot since Quake.

  • Are you binning the CPUs to ensure 6400mhz ram works or do you just ship it with EXPO disabled and hope for the best ?

    • You're welcome to enable EXPO, we've tested this kit with this configuration at both 6400MHz and 6000MHz and it's stable.

  • Hey guys, how are despatch times going? Ordered mine on 21/7 :)

    • +1

Everything is super on track! 7-10 business days for despatch is bang on, our workshop is always trying to stay within this timeframe.

      • Thanks for the quick update, legends :D.
