I am looking around for a new laptop and like the reviews of the Snap Dragon processors due to the extended battery life. This model looks like a decent deal. Same model is being sold at Good Guys for $1699, $1497 at Officeworks and $1497 at Amazon. JB page says a saving of $425 so this sounds correct according to GG's pricing.
Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14" WUXGA OLED 2-in-1 Laptop, Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD $1274 + Del ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

Well you already open it so its your fault. Jb will say the same
Oh lol, i just read jb t&c, not so much difference then. Guess im stuck with my perfect condition laptop now 😮💨
Yeah only with amazon you can do this kind of bad trick (from.the view of sellers)
@CyberMurning: Well its a new model so no retailer has it yet, i cant check it out physically offline, i can only buy online and when i receive it i have buyer's remorse and cant return it. How is it any trick here lol?
Too bad you missed this deal
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/891327$1039 with 32GB of RAM.
If you really want to get a ARM Windows laptop and you aren't in a hurry, I get a feeling there will be more good sales.
Yeah that was an awesome deal and over $200 cheaper with double RAM. For someone that prefers a bricks & mortar store that needs a laptop right now, the one I listed isn't a bad deal.
Not touch screen if that matters to some.
If you want a 16in Snapdragon there is a great deal on the EDU store:
https://www.lenovo.com/au/edu/education/en/p/laptops/thinkbo…I'd still take the IdeaPad as the 14 in OLED is great.
Why would you want the Snapdragon/ arm?
better battery life, I reckon.
Yes, but at the price of comparability risks and random hardware issues (like unsupported drivers) I reckon… Can you say deck bru? Want some fush n chups
Depends on your use case but after daily driving one for a few weeks I'm extremely happy with it.
Better battery life is a primary benefit. And for me it's been exceptional, but it's also close to the fastest device I've ever used. I have the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7X. I've had zero compatability issues and they will only really be an issue when you run into kernal level driver problems, otherwise the X86 emulation takes care of things seamlessly for all the non ARM versions of the software you use every day.
I've been using for 5 months and couldn't be happier, I'll be buying another of these for my daughter as she starts uni next week, they are very thin and light so easy to carry around and will have no trouble with a full day of use. I've averaged 15 hours of standard use before needing to charge over the 5 months I've been using, though I notice leaving Teams open is a bad idea, so I usually exit it before closing the lid.
Note, my experience is with the Snapdragon X Elite, this deal is for an X Plus so will be slightly less performant, but possibly have better battery life.
Poor Snapdragon
Thanks OP had a store credit at HN and this ticked all the boxes - they price matched.
Good to hear!
Just checked and The Good Guys price beat thingy says $1237, so even slightly better!
It looks like GG's, Officeworks, Amazon and HN have all matched or just beaten this price.
Stack with 10% ultimate him gift card off from coles. Not bad if u need one right now.
I bought a thinkpad from lenovo but kinda having a 2nd thought. Now they want restock fee of 20% for returning (I just got my laptop yesterday) which is absurd.
I cant find any defect on my unit so i have a legit reason to return. Buying from australian store is wise, u can return with ease.
