@coolsteps: Any other similar phone as g54 but slightly cheaper? Out of pocket 1
            under $100

            • @CyberMurning: not sure if you will find a similar phone as g54 cheaper at jbhi fi. the cheapest is the telstra smart phone price matched at kmart for $79 but it only has 2gb ram so its crap. try to get HN to price match amaysim they did for me once and they have a $40 gift card offer atm too. https://www.harveynorman.com.au/motorola-moto-g54-5g-128gb-m… let us know how you get on im considering getting a smart phone instead too for my last voucher.

              • @coolsteps: agree best bang is g54 probably the cheapest with esim. i still have galaxy note 3 as backup so not sure if keeping g54 $135ish in the drawer is good idea

          • @coolsteps: Thank you

    Time to detox.

Wish HMD make a Nokia E series

I loved my E65, would be great to have a modern version.

Just need a simple phone with 2FA.

      • Had an e5 and e72, great devices, I want something simple that can do the basics plus a little more. No social apps but yeah, what the current array of new Nokia devices can do now, in 4g

  • I have got 5 3g phones can i trade in seperately?

    • +1

Only one at a time. Tried to do multiple last night but the system blocks whilst you have an active trade in in progress.

  • Can you definitely get the Nokia 110 4g phone, as the coupon only states "Any Apple or Android Phone when you Trade-in and Upgrade from a 3G Device".
    Can someone kindly confirm.

    • +1

Yep redeemed the coupon last night

  • Any other phones beside nokia 110 or moto g54 that eligible??

    • Yes, all 4G and 5G phones, I bought one for $134 with $50 trade in code and 10% off discount gift card a few days ago.

      • Thats g54 right?

        • Yes.

          • @jimojr: the best i good get live chat rep to offer me today is $196.95 for the G54 , might end up getting the HN $40 GC offer as it ends today and i want to get rid of an old gift card

How strict are they on the the phone turns on aspect? Got an old Nokia that I don't have the charging cable for

    • +2

Presume they won't bother testing. The phone did turn on when it was plugged in at home. But since you don't have an ancient proprietary cable to check…. And it wasn't required to be supplied…

    • I bought one universal charger for $24 at TGG last year. It can charge most old batteries.

      • +1

For $1 they won't bother. It's going into scrap

        • +1

If you don't use the $1 gift card you don't need to send the trade-in phone. They will cancel you order after a month and refund you $1.

  • It's essentially a free phone, but I couldn't envision anyone actually using this, not even as a dumb phone. I got a headache looking at the dot matrix style screen & the UI is the worst I've seen on a phone in 20+ years.

The "better" Nokia's, like the 2720/2760 or Opels are a much better dumb phone options. However, free is free :)

    • This phone is fine for primary schooler without any apps just text and call I think. But school already banned phones so maybe just as a emergency backup if your kid goes out on the weekend

  • Can someone explain how this trade-in work when it says $1 trade in for 3G phone? I went to the store and they directed me to process the trade-in online as they don't deal with it in store.

how do you get the $50 credit?

    • It (the coupon) gets emailed to you as well.

    • OK after completing the trade-in process, you need to click on the $50 off coupon that i sent to your email. then the coupon will be sent to your email.

      • correct. for first come basis here is a live chat price match for the G54 with officeworks for $197 thats the best i could get today https://direct.jbhifi.com.au/QNMMWR

      • If i trade-in 3x old 3G phone [$1 value], Will i also get 3x $50 jb gift voucher?

        • it's 1 phone per trade-in. you can do multiple trade-ins. But you can only use 1 x $50 voucher per purchase.

        • yes yes said many times but you need to apply 3 times, probably with 3 different IDs.
also cannot combine 3x50vouch for 1 purchase

          • @CyberMurning: thanks for the confirmation.
I will try to apply 3x [I wonder what ID i can use for the 3rd time hahaha…]

            • @atlinus: you can always try use the same id see if they check manually or system auto check them (doubt) but if you got rejected then dont blame me hehe

Hi, I've picked up this phone today. Not sure if this is the best place to post about the issues I'm having. Tried receiving calls today and the call drops after 2 minutes. There is an icon showing VOLTE with 2 bars but when I bring the phone to my ear the bars drop to no bars and the call drops a minute or two later. Is that an issue with the phone or the network we're on. We use Aldi which uses the Telstra network. The old 3G phone works just fine but isn't going to work for much longer.

  • What's the process like?

I have a pile of old phones that need to be sent to a recycler. Can i just bring it in and they'll just do an on the spot swap?

Or do i have to sign up for something/fill in forms/IDs/credit checks etc.

If the latter, i'll rather just use an e-bin

    • Latter

      • has to be all done online and requires a visit to the post office. 1 per ID used. so try DL and then another on passport for x 2 3g phones

        • +1

sounds like way more trouble than it's worth unfortunately

  • Just sent in my iPhone 4 (battery on its last legs can power on after charging) see what happens. At most I lose $1

    This is a scam.

They wouldn't let me do it at the store. said I had to do it online.

So i went online and they offered me $1.

    O-N-E D-O-L-L-A-R.

    Not $49. $1.

    • You're a noob.
I guess leaves more vouchers for people who bother to take the time reading and claiming.
I have two Nokias at home that I didn't have to pay a cent for.

      • Were you able to trade-in both simultaneously?

        • Separate transactions using separate identity documents

    • lol

  • So I need to post. the 3G phone back using the Australia Post label? I can't return it to Jb HiFI store?

    • +1

Yes, you need to post it. I did this last week and they have put my account on hold until they receive it. I cannot do a second trade-in with the same details.

      • I doubt I’ll get to do another one. One week later, still not delivered to Squaretrade.

        • Mine was delivered this week but my order status still shows awaiting delivery.

  • Will I need to send back the charger that goes with my 3G phone. I have a Sony Walkman phone and the charger is very unique.

    • If you want to. But I don't think they require you send one.

      • I'm wondering what happened to those who decided not to send trade-in back

        • They didn't get their $1 back.
