    It has 16GB memory!

  • Is the screen matte or gloss ? I'm considering upgrading from an 6th gen Dell XPS 13 with the infinity 3k display

    • I think all/most OLED screens are glossy.

Battery life on these HP Pavilions is atrocious. Like 3 hour use before going flat from a full charge bad.

    • Up to 13 hours battery life (typical device

Not 13??? Mobileciti specs even says 17hrs

    • How long did it take before showing that sort of battery life?

    • Reviews say the polar opposite. What model with what specs do you have?

    • Define what your typical use is. And how old is the laptop.

I’m testing that theory right this moment with my HP Pavilion Plus Evo 16” WQXGA 2560×1600 120 Hz screen, i7 - 13700H/16GB/512GB SSD model… I have never removed the power/recharge cable since I purchased it in December 2023, so I disconnected it at 5:30pm Sydney time tonight and I have YouTube videos running on the laptop, while in the other corner of the room I am enjoying a glass of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit and am watching Face/Off on 4K UHD Blu-ray on the home theatre. We will see in a few hours whether you’re right about the battery life of these current HP Pavilion Plus laptop models or not, you certainly could be correct, the battery life of my laptop has dropped from 100% to 80% in 1 hour.

        • Your video is using amd?

          • @CyberMurning: Yes.

CPU benchmarks for Intel i7-1355U and AMD 7840U are similar but Radeon 780M is significantly superior. Iirc he mentions that HP has throttled CPU power on the AMD version, which extends battery life. Don't know if that also applies to the Intel version but it seems likely if they have the same power supply.

    • idk why you get negatived, but i experienced pretty much the same. It is just HP not good on their optimization hardware and software wise.

      • Here's why. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15362338/redir There are other reviews which confirm excellent battery life on models reaskted to the deal if you look.

All HP Pavilion laptops aren't the same, let alone Pavilion V Pav PLus. He hasn't said what his laptop is. Likely significantly different.

    • Okay, at 8pm my HP Pavilion Plus laptop with similar specs was down to 55% battery life after having YouTube videos playing for 2 and a half hours, clearly your 3 hours battery life comment was a bit of an exaggeration, although based on my current test, the battery will probably only last 5-6 hours, which isn’t overly fantastic. However, I don’t really care personally, because my personal home laptop isn’t my work laptop and it stays on my home office desk and never moves, and is always plugged into the charger.

With regards to this particular HP laptop in the thread title, as an owner of a 2023/2024 Sony 77” a95L QD-OLED TV, I’m not sure why anyone would want a tiny 14” OLED screen in a laptop for everyday use… The static Windows menu and app icons, and other still images from regular software you use will burn in after 2-3 years of extended use, and 14” inches is pretty small. My work laptop is a Microsoft brand laptop which has a 13.5 inch screen, and it’s too small to read customers enquires and account details on, and isn’t a great size for being able to quickly and efficiently use to navigate between multiple systems and software.

    • Alrighty, at 10:40pm AEST Sydney time tonight, after removing the power/charging cable at 5:30pm and running YouTube videos for several hours, the battery life was displaying 5% at 10:40pm… Therefore I think it’s fair to say that the battery life will last for a little over 5 hours if you’re intending to watch movies or TV shows on the HP laptop model in the original bargain post or on models with similar specs… The HP Pavilion Plus Evo laptop in the following link is the one that I own (disregard the resolution specs posted on Harvey Norman’s website for the model because what’s listed is inaccurate, it’s in fact 2560×1600 @ 120 Hz):

      • Thanks for the test.
Yours is 16" so maybe 14 will last another 30 mins not sure

The MobileCiti deal is still active using MCITI20 (to take it to 1039.99) it's only the MCITI25 coupon for eBay Plus members (to get it to 999.99) that randomly stopped working a day ago

    • Can confirm MCITY20 still works …. 1039.99

Cheaper than JB HIFI if you want them

I have expiring soon jb hifi giftcard … so i have no choice but to use it =p

      • I have expiring soon jb hifi giftcard

        JB gift card never expires.

  • I had my eye on the Pavillion Plus for a while but ultimately decided to go with the HP Aero 13 (due to the Ryzen 7 processor and smaller form factor) - currently on sale $1199 (however added an extra 2 years warranty for additional $100) direct from the HP Australia website: https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-pavilion-aero-laptop-13-be2…

Summary of some of the differences between these two laptops (both are Windows 11, 16GB Ram):
    - HP Pavillion Plus: 14" OLED Screen, 1.4kg, I7-1355U, 68wH battery, 1 USB C + 1 thunderbolt
    - HP Aero 13: 13" WXGA Screen, 1Kg, Ryzen 7 7735U, 43wH battery, only 1 USB C slot

    • How's the battery life on HP Aero?

  • What’s the fan noise like in these?
I am looking for something that is quiet!
