Exclusive Citibank Credit Card - 0% Balance Transfer for 9 Months

015

This has to be one of the best offers on the market. A low annual fee and 0% on balance transfers for 9 months, are just some of the benefits - it's a great offer.

'low' annual fees? I haven't paid annual fees on a credit card in many years, not planning to start now.

    • To be fair, it has some extra features that most free cards don't have, like travel insurance. But $100 pa (after the first year) isn't what I regard as low. It seems to be cheaper to buy travel insurance separately if you don't travel a lot. Also, I'm not sure if there isn't a free card that has travel insurance either.

Just the example I know of on the top of my head, I am sure there are others.

        • Though not everyone qualifies for free travel insurance on that card (and they word it as "airline travel and accident insurance", whatever that means), but I take your point, there may be others

Often the benefits (points/cashback) of a credit card can be worth more than the fees, but it doesn't seem to be the case for this card.

    0.9% != 0

    • That's true. Though I think it's fairly clear that it's 0 for balance transfers in first 9 months, unless you have proof to suggest otherwise

Shouldn't this be in the forums, this ain't a bargain.

  • How is this better than the HSBC Credit Card offer? 0% Transfer, no card fee.

"For the Citibank Clear Platinum Credit Card, you will be billed an Annual Primary Cardholder Fee of $49 in the first year. This will revert to the standard Annual Primary Cardholder Fee, currently $99, in subsequent years."

This is a better offer. Free card & 0% balance transfer for 8 months:

This is an Ad, not a bargain.
I get free "international travel insurance" on a $50 visa gold card & cashback.

If you want Platinum CC, then the bankwest one gives you QFF points for the same price.

This is an ad, not a bargain post.

  • Pretty obvious why they've spammed this, when you apply through their website they get a commission from Citibank.

    • Pretty sure, they get commission for all of the cards.

  • my citi gold business is free forever =)
they don't offer it anymore but is one of the best cards citi bank offered in terms of benefits

  • A tip for anyone considering this, don't transfer up to the maximum approved limit. I got stung a few years ago with a similar offer. Can't remember the exact figures, but I got approved, say, a $5000 credit limit so I transfered $5000 onto my new card from another account. Shortly afterwards i was charged the annual fee on top of my $5000 and then got charged for going over my limit! I think the low interest rate may also have been forfeited because of this too.

    • Yep if they let you balance transfer 10K or more it would be a GREAT deal, but you could be Richard Branson and still cop a 5K limit. Its just their business model to screw you, and they suck. Neg just because it has Citi in the title, nothing 'Citi' is a bargain.

This is one of the best credit cards at the moment being offered with a long balance transfer. This is not spam but a legitimate offer

    • This is one of the best credit cards at the moment

"One of the best"? If there are similar offers available, why is this one a bargain?

    • BS. This is not the place for your advertisement.

    • you're failing to show us in what ways it is better than the other offers people have posted links to, which sure look better than yours at first glance. if it's not better than those other ones, then it's not "one of the best credit cards at the moment".

    • Your rating system is also odd. The NAB Qantas platinum is one of the best QFF earners on the market, but you rate it a 6/10 due to high annual fee and low(er) earn rate on companion card. Similarly for the ANZ rewards cards - when considering rewards cards, you shouldn't be looking at the interest rates.

This is not spam but a legitimate offer

I think you'll find it's potential customers who'll determine what is or isn't spam, not a rep with a vested interest…

You could earn 100K+ get approved for 6K Limit because they don't want you transferring big balances. And don't get me started about Citi, anyone looking at citibank, make sure you do your research they will take you for a ride in anyway they can, appy at your own peril!

  • Citibank has to be the worse "bank" I have ever tried to use. I stopped using them after a week. No bargain on this deal when its easy to find better alternatives.

  • The above referred to HSBC offer with $0 annual fee and 0% BT for 8 months is better. This isn't a bargain.

  • Spam. Why not link directly to the Citibank website?

    • +1

Because it goes through their referral and they earn commission for every sign up.

      • Yeah, found this:

        • The credit cards compared on this page are chosen from a range that CreditCard.com.au has access to track applications from and is not representative of all the credit card products available in the market. We also provide information on a range of cards that we do not have ability to track but believe have impact on the Australian credit card market. You can use our cardfinder tool to compare 25 leading providers or click on compare by bank, which allows you to see the full range of cards offered by each provider.
    • I've fixed the link.

  • "This has to be one of the best offers on the market."

Sorry, but in opinion, if it's on Ozbargain. It has to be THE best. No deal.

  • +1

    Spam.

  • They will hassle you if you don't follow through with the application - What bank hassles you to complete an app? Terrible.

I applied about 2 weeks ago, then they wanted all these additional information which i just couldnt be bothered getting. Since then, they have called, emailed and texted me every day for about a week. I got fed up and cancelled the application.
