Everyone's been asking when the next AliExpress sale is as it's long overdue and here it finally is. The "Mega Choice Day Sale" will be kicking off from 5pm AEST on June 1st to June 8th. While the sale is on "Choice" items in previous deals these coupons have worked sitewide.

Expect there to be a slight delay in coupons working from when the sale goes live and high value coupon codes often get used up pretty quickly.

Coupons are 1 per account, do not stack with the new user 'Welcome Offer', "Limited Deals" and minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

    Anyone looking at anbernic rg35xxsp?

Just a straight up cutie. Don’t even care about the hardware, just playing Pokemon unbound anyway.

    • +3

Going to wait for third party sellers to stock them (Factory Direct or Cutesliving)

      • Countin on you to highlight a deal what the time is right Boss

        • +5

Coincidentally I was talking prices with a store yesterday.

        • Yes please.ive been collecting handhelds and waiting for the SP to be cheaper. Like sub 100aud

      • +2

I'm convinced those two stores are run by same mobs.

        • +7

          They are - AliExpress.

          • @Clear: Do you know why sometimes I see cheap price. E.g. saw a miyoo mini for $36 aud 2 weeks ago but the buy it now.button is greyed out but I can see they have 100+ stock?

            • +22

@Jaduqimon: In the "Super Deals" section of the homepage or app is a sub-section called "Limited Deals" where they offer massive discounts in limited quantities. When the button is greyed out that means the stock for that price has been sold out. When it replenishes each day around 5-7pm you can find some insane deals like this 4TB SSD for ~A$110.

If you ever see any products with the "Super Deals" banner try adding these to the end of the URL after the ".html".

              ?sourceType=562

This sets it to the Super Deal price

              ?sourceType=561

This sets it to the Limited Deals price

The prices can jump higher with both of these codes and that means the promotional price is exhausted.

              • @Clear: Ahh ok so I need to camp during 5-7pm to get it thanks.

Yeh saw some crazy good deals.

                Rg35xxh for $30 aud

                • @Jaduqimon: Wow that's cheap
Do you have the link for the rg35xxh by any chance?
I've been aching for a good deal since my last 'too good to be true' A$50 order got cancelled due to fake tracking number πŸ˜•

              • @Clear:

like this 4TB SSD for ~A$110

                No fikwot meme this time?

              • @Clear: Pro tip.

              • @Clear: Unrelated but I thought general advice was not to buy any storage devices from AliExpress because some sellers they have some sort of program to fake storage?

                • +3

@ConfusedUser1234: Generic unbranded USB flash drives and portable SSDs that are offering high storage for very low prices are blatantly fake. In this case it's a proper brand and more of a price error. Definitely a legitimate SSD in my case.

                  • @Clear: I've seen this in Shenzhen, they will plug in a 1TB USB stick to a PC and show you the properties of the drive to be 1TB capacity but in reality it's probably an 8GB drive and their software shows differently.

              • @Clear: Lol no such super deal like that now ?

          • +1

@Clear: Do you know why they do this?

I find AliExpress so weird and confusing

        • They are run by Aliexpress themselves. So, yes.

          Edit: beaten by the master.

          • @PainToad: Ahh I see.

          • +1

@PainToad: Interestingly AliExpress are now trying to hide that by changing the business license to be under one of their Singapore registered companies.

    • +1

This is exactly what I was going to say when I saw this deal.
      I found a listing for $110AU but didn't bite.

      • Waiting for choice delivery

    • Now muOS supports Portmaster, consider the rg35xxh for the analogue controls. Cheaper too (for now).

    • pokemon black & white 3 genesis looks excellent too

    • -2

What is this and why don’t I need it?

  • +2

    Poco F6 here we come….

    • +1

never heard of this phone until you mention it now.. the POCO F6 Pro looks good for the 16GB/1TB specs at $920
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006884105728.html

    • I'm sure it's fine, but just a word of warning, I purchased the POCO F5 and 3 months later got rid of it, there was some incompatibility with my phone network (ALDI via Telstra) and it would constantly lose reception, once every 5-10 minutes or so so music / videos would constantly stop playing.

      • I daily drive a F5 with Boost (Telstra) the last 9 months and not a single problem.

The only thing holding me back about F6 is lack of 3.5mm audio jack.

  • +2

Typo in title, US$12 off US$139 should be US$12 off US$89

      Bike Boat parts ahoyyyy

    • Are the shimano parts they sell legit?

      • +4

There's a mix. Avoid chains and pedals from unknown sellers - lots of fakes. Derailleurs usually fine - haven't seen a fake Shimano derailleur on Aliexpress yet (it would be much harder to fake).

Newbie Bike Store is a choice store with legit products:
        https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1102512785

      • +2

        Yep
        Brakes also good

      • +2

Yes, bought Shimano hydraulic disc brake set and Shimano Deore MTB shifters back in Nov 2022 and they were legitimate.

        • +1

I bought shimano br-mt200 for around 39 bucks from Pushys… Not much of a difference with Aliexpress for genuine shimano products

      • Yes. Purchase from reputable sellers with high ratings. Can recommend "Yiwu Donglue Bicycle Parts Factory" on AliExpress. Purchased Shimano ChainRing and it's original stock. Been on the road bike for 6 months with no issues. Half the price of local stores.

Don’t do it man I was watching this nice chap trace velo on the tube, he looked extremely trustworthy. He was selling these nice edgy looking cycling shoes. I go check them out on AliExpress, omg stiffness index 14, that sounded mightly gay and I’m sold straight away.

Naturally I hunt around for something cheaper, this other seller was offering $30 less on β€˜carbon sole shoes’, I pick the nicest looking one and click buy. A few weeks later they turn up and I was Uber excited, that is until I discover these were not stiff at all, they were in fact the rubber version, I’m sure there is a joke here somewhere.

This clown seller was selling one colour rubber, one colour nylon, and one colour carbon all under the same listing with item description carbon sole. Instead of blaming myself for not reading due to excitement, I naturally blame the seller. how can this atrocity happen on AliExpress, and in 2024?

I started spamming press x to dispute, AliExpress decided I was stupid for picking the rubber colour, I ignored the AI judge and continued spamming x, a human must have finally gave judgement to allow refund. The seller claimed if I used AliExpress return shipping they would not actually send it back and would burn it, being a tree hugger in a moment of weakness I decided to spend an extra $30 on return postage, the seller shook my hands profusely using emoji.

So there you have it, in the end I fell on my first ride, discovered that mtb shoes are probably more suitable for most ppl, hardly used them because can’t walk on road shoes, found out the cleats were extremely hard to unclip in winter, and spend an extra $30 on return shipping just for stiffness 14 clown shoes because some edgelord influencer on YouTube were promoting them. This is what happens when you shop on AliExpress guys, stay away before it’s too late

      • +4

An entertaining read. If you fleshed it out a bit and had some editing done you could enter it in a short story competition.

        (BTW, I didn’t neg you.)

      • +1

Yeah I'd never buy bike shoes from AliExpress lol.

I've bought many parts for bikes though!
        Including full groupsets.

Don't think I've ever run into problems with any of your parts, it's a great resource for the "might be useful" parts like brake bleed kits, washers, bolts, spacers etc.

Things that if you buy locally you get absolutely scammed.

Why would a stem space cost $30 here but I can buy an entire carbon set for $15.

      • I use a pair of Sidebike cleat-less (flat) shoes with clicky string adjusters and they are excellent, purchased from Aliexpress.

  • +1

I am looking forward to a price war between AliExpress and Temu :)

    • +20

Temu is now redundant after aliexpress brought in their "Choice". Haven't had one shipment taking longer than 10 days

    • +1

If Temu onboarded the big brands found on AliExpress it would be over. Most AliExpress sellers know how bad Temu treat their sellers (i.e. forced discounts that you have to honour) that they stay away.

Didn't stop me spending $600 with the 50% cashback yesterday lol.

      • +1

        What did you get?

        • +1

Lots of really random stuff. A couple of mechanical keyboards, new mousepads, RGB lightstrips.

I’m guessing because of the SCA in the codes.

        • Super Clear is Awesome :D

  • Might see the PM991a back around ATLs if it doesn't get jacked.

    • Edited comment: Oh the price came down, have to use the next lower code 24SC04. USD$53.03 inclusive of code and GST. Surprisingly AUD seems to have strengthened, Google says that's about $79.68 AUD, a smidge under previous deals at $50 USD ~ $80 AUD

  • +1

Everyone's been asking when the next AliExpress sale is as it's long overdue and here it finally is

Wait, did we skip a month?

    I also wonder if they're running a 618 sale or that's just a TB/JD thing.

  • Don't they normally stack with the new user discounts?

    • Not usually. Unless that's changed recently.

      • It's been a while since i've looked at aliexpress, the last time i did was when you posted a deal that had stackable codes, might have been earlier this year/late last year.

I want to buy a little pfsense box. I feel like i've seen the same one listed multiple times by the same seller, only with different prices. Is that normal? Their search is a pain.

  • Thanks bud!

  • Been waiting for this my cart is looking mighty heavy

    • +1

Maxed out at 100 items heavy? Terrible balancing act recently trying to buy things incrementally and trying to keep cart under the 100 limit.. πŸ˜ͺ

  • Damn it, just ordered $100+ yesterday πŸ˜•

    • Ditto!

    • there is a banner in the app saying mega sale in X days time

Before buying from Ali Express please read this post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/842147

Tldr: AliExpress offer zero effective warranty or guarantees. Buy with caution.

    • +14

This is just basic common sense though. Never expect any form of warranty when buying overseas, especially China of all places.

    • +5

Pro tips to remember when buying from Ali Express:

      1. Only buy cheap stuff you don't really care about - i.e. anything that won't make you sad if it breaks / is lost / etc.
      2. You're gambling with your money - you may get a deal, you may not. If you don't like the sound of that, don't shop here.
      3. You are responsible for the warranty - don't expect seller support. Like, ever.
      • What's cheap?

About to put an order through for a Malahit DSP v2.. πŸ˜…

        1. The clothes are tiny or/and fake, pictures stolen.

  • +4

What are your favourite aliexpress purchases? This should probably be a forum post… Would be great to see what amazing things people have found.

    • I've bought good sneakers, tricky to get sizing right. Clothes, underwear. Replacement screens/electronic parts. And camping solar lights and torches I've been really happy with. And phone cases.
Used to buy more but have had a run lately where items don't arrive and don't even seem to have been sent. Low cost stuff so maybe not worth the postage for the seller, did get refund but it's frustrating.
Also got some poor quality/used electronic parts so gave up on that. Need a screen so might try again.
Depends on the seller, lot of dodgy ones still. Same as on eBay though.

    • In the last few months I've bought mainly retro emulators and 2230 NVMEs. Have been happy with all of them.

      xiaomi shoes are great

    • Accesories - tiaras, gloves, costumey elements. shoe gel things, a certain french brand of stunning fashion jewellery
      Stickers, beads, craft things, pins

      Never: clothes, electronics

    • I mostly get craft supplies and small components that aren't available in Aus or are just dramatically more expensive. Things like sewing supplies, port plugs, the odd kitchen utensil, KAM snaps, furniture wheels, etc

  • +2

Hey @Clear, did you see the other codes pop up today? Mine says "restocking" for all but I assume I could probably claim/use them as soon as they've restocked?

Code prefix 24SCXX, although savings doesn't correspond to code like yours. Basically the same savings, just a regional currency code or something?

    • $6 off $45 using 04
    • $12 off $90 using 08
    • $20 off $150 using 12
    • $30 off $200 using 20
    • $75 off $450 using 50
    • $120 off $750 using 80
      Figures are all in AUD
    • They're going to be the exact same discounts as this with the same USD discounts. You'll probably load your cart up with those AUD amounts and find that you haven't hit the limit due to currency fluctuations. USD is the default currency and doesn't fluctuate.

      • Damn, wtf. 🀣 But yeah, I assumed from your post that I needed something over $749ish so it's been sitting at $751 for the last couple days but once it goes live, it should tell me if I need to "add $x" to reach next tier and I just slap on some random other thing in my cart to tip the scale. πŸ˜…

        • +1

US$499 is A$754.69 with the current exchange rate so you might just need some more.

          • @Clear: Yeah, we'll have to see on the day.. πŸ˜… $5 in $750 is only a marginal change too, something like what, 0.66% change of currency will fluctuate it by $5.. πŸ˜…

  • Anyone have recommendations for fishing gear? Mainly looking for lures

    • +2

These ALLBLUE ecogear zx40 clones are great. I've caught whiting, flathead, bream, stripey snapper, and estuary cod with them. Way cheaper than the real deal, and just as good. They're almost impossible to get snagged.

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001379633144.html

Everything from the Allblue store that I have tried has been alright. Apart from the hooks on some lures. Thinner gauge than I'd like. So i replace the trebles sooner rather than later.
