        • Actually both Sc and se u gets soft case.

      • Thanks, I guess it might just a marketing strategy to sell the same product to us. Still a good deal from 300+ down to $146. Plus the discount on the gift cards. Plus the tax time.

  • How's everyone that got an SE pair finding them? No regrets for the price?

    • +2

No complaints, good product and sound is great, will be useful on my trip to Europe next month, although my AirPods Pro’s are less bulky and easier to use (but not with the battery life of the Bose)

      • Agreed. I mostly use my AirPod Pro 2 at home as it’s more convenient, but will keep the Bose ones as backup for e.g. long flights.

        • That's almost exactly how I use my Airpod Pros/Bose QC35

  • For anyone still wondering, I picked these up today and setup, they pair to your phone as QC45.

  • +2

Just received mine. Updated firmware to v4 (you have to do it on https://btu.bose.com/ instead of in the app). Returned my QC Ultra (thanks Amazon!). :)

  • Just received mine from JB, the box says its the Quiet Comfort SE not 45SE, I assume its the same?

    • Same.
The SE are qc45s with a soft case instead of the hard case.

      • Cheers dude

Just received mine. Ordered on 28/05 when this post was only an hour old, with 10% perks and postage fee. ETA said June 6, it came from the Maroochydore store and arrived just a day after they posted it to my address in Brisbane. I didn't expect they would express post it as it didn't indicate it was an express postage but not gonna complain!

Firmware was version 3.5, manufactured 28 October 2023. Updated to 4.0.4 and got a bit of a decent sound quality improvement.

Sound quality, not much of a jump from my $69 Edifier WH700NB (which I got for just ~$40) from MyDeal last December after vouchers and cashback. It is better, but not by much. Although the noise cancellation difference is huge. Top notch on this one.

Very lightweight as well. Pads seem to be a bit stiff for now but I assume they'll eventually break-in after some use. Or maybe because my Edifier had thicker pads and got used to it. I'd say if I bought this for full price I'd be very disappointed (since I can compare it with a cheaper headphone), but at half price it's definitely a 10/10.

  • I got SC and it has constant issue with mute sound when watching short movie, reel or youtube.
Have to disconnect and reconnect to have sound on. So annoying and cannot find solution for android phone.
    Anybody help please?

    • I wonder if SE will be the same?

Got my pair today and have been testing it out.

The ANC is definately better on the Bose compared to my Xm4s but the Xm4s have better bass and sound

The Bose also feels slightly lighter and better in taking phone calls than the Sony. I prefer the Bose physical buttons as opposed to the touch panel on the Sony which can be a bit fickle at times at responding especially in very cold weather.

So far happy with the purchase especially at this price.

    • +1

I regret mine lol. Much prefer the sony sound. The bose sound so flat and lifeless.

      • If that's your main purpose then thats fair.

I mainly am after the ANC for my flights and coach trips to block out the noise so i can sleep.

      • Had both and the Bose are better IMHO
The ANC is FAR better on the Bose
Subjective obviously but the Bose for me and at $164 it's a no brainer

  • +1

Loving my new QC45s, ANC is much better than my 7 year old QC35iis which I still use.
The new ones are so quiet I can clearly hear the voices in my head.

  • Very satisfied with my new SC's I picked up for the $147.
So much more lightweight than my old Sony WH-1000XM2 pair.

Perfect for flights, I don't care or mind about the lack of bass.

  • Picked up the SC on Wednesday. Have been testing since Thursday. The noise cancelling is nothing I have experienced before. Audit quality is OKish, I prefer my Jabra Elite 75t. But my complaint is with the Mic performance, it's extremely poor!! My existing Jabra Elite 75t blows the Bose QC SC out of the park when it comes to mic, both in terms of quality & volume. Wify couldn't hear me at all on the Bose when calling her from the train, switched to Jabra and voila no issues. Firmware us up to date. Couldn't find any other troubleshooting!

    • Do you have any issue with automatic mute with youtube or reels facebook?

  • Does anyone have a good EQ setup that they would recommend?

    • Would be nice if they had more presets.

    • +1

You could try the suggestion in this reddit thread

    • Everyones ears and music tastes are different. Also phone EQ affects it. Ive got Dolby Atmos on, flat phone eq. Bose EQ is 5 4 4. If it makes you tired, dial the bass down. Still experimenting.

  • Got mine on wed and returned for a refund today. Had intermittent crackling during listening to podcasts on pocket cast on android. Wasn't overall impressed and def wouldn't recommend at the higher price point. Anker q45 are better and will stay as my daily driver

    • Should’ve got a replacement for that defective one. I’ve got no crackling except on my pork.

      • There was no exchange option as they were all sold out. Happy to get a refund any way as I wasn't i.ptessed (even when not crackling).

And yes, pork is the only place crackling belongs haha

as I mentioned in the comments I originally ordered SE and the next day also got SC when learned that it's possible. kept both, gave SE to my better half and kept SC to myself

comparing the two, SC somehow feels better built, the padding around the ears and on the headband is softer and more pleasant to the touch

def SC is more bassy, and I like that. otherwise noise cancelling is identical, SC maybe a bit better there. both updated to latest firmware

    • +1

So you gave the worst one to your better half, and the better one went to the worst half?

      • that's exactly how it went down. would you have done any of it differently? I could have just returned SE and left her with whatever she's using today

    • I got one of each also.. do you reckon that the SC is better keeping than the SE ?

      • +1

slightly better IMO. difference is very small

  • i ordered on that same day, Wed around 7:10pm and picked up the next day around 8pm.

i just checked my bank transaction now, money Refunded , all of $147.60, But in my paypal showing money gone only transaction and not refund one.

Happened to anyone else ?? or i am the Lucky one , got FREE.

I’ll inform Jb on you behalf. Happy to get this sorted for you.

  • Damb I missed out, any other stores with similar deals?

    • No but plenty of broden scalpers willing to sell it to you

    • -1

      Damb I missed out,

Deal was posted on 28 May and expired on the same day, of course you missed it.

  • This deal was popular, every second person at the gym rolling these, FB marketplace aplenty too.

    • Yeap not surprised and actually expected it, after I ordered mine I had a quick look on the stock levels in the JB website and all stores were already out of stock and the closest was the domestic airport

  • GRRRRR - just did the firmware update. Annoying low level hissing now. Do not update the firmware from out of the box.

    • +2

I have no issues after updating straight from out of the box via android app. Everything solid, eq set at 5 4 4. Sounds fantastic.
Made a phone call, they said mic quality is clear.
      I got the SE

  • -1

I just got my SE delivered today. The sound quality is very good but the ANC is below my expectation even in Quiet mode. I could still hear the TV sound when I stood 2m away. Is that normal? The firmware is 3.5 and the app says it is up to date.

    • +4

It's not designed to drown out things like TV and voices. It's mostly designed to take out constant noise - like train wheels, or airplane engines.

      • Sorry? Couldn't hear you with my Bose QuietComfort 45 SE Noise Cancelling Headphones

  • can't believe i missed these

  • Used for less than a week, today it just randomly got a clicking sound on only the left headphone that happens when I tilt my head in a certain direction or while walking, like something is loose. Hopefully can go into JB and get it exchanged :(.

    • SE or SC? I sometimes hear random clicks on the left side, but only in certain situations (like connected to MAC and ANC on and my head against a pillow). walking around is fine

      • SC, got it replaced yesterday at JB store. And it was only happened when moving, connected to phone.

  • Just tried pairing mine to my samsung tv (qn80c).

Sound cuts out every few seconds.

    Anyone else experience this?

  • Does anyone else hear a mild whooshing/ocean type noise with the QC SCs whilst on noise cancelling mode? Didn't have that with the QC 45 SEs

  • such good timing, my QC35's I purchased in 2016 has finally started randomly loosing some plastic bits from the outer shell….. what a tank. I paid $360 for the QC35's back then, and now I managed to upgrade to QC45's for $170
