    • Why downgrade?

      • +1

Wasn't wearing enough, also didnt find them comfortable for long periods tbh

  • +1

Awesome, got a pair, perks voucher came through just in time :) Thanks!

Great price. Would buy a pair for sure but I am still very happy with my current pair of B&W PX7.

My friend has a QC45 and I bought QC SE last year, and they are NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT the same headphones.

Despite that SE showed up as QC45 on my phone Bluetooth device list, they sound different. SE lacks of base and has heavy sibilance. Had to return for refund.

I suspect SEs were the old and defective QC45s that did not pass their initial strict quality control checks when QC45s were still their flagship product. Now they release them as SEs for cheaper price.

It's an ok value for $160. It really just worths that much. Dont think its a bargain. You are not getting a $300+ headphone for a cheaper price.

    • +7

Well fk, i just bought them, way to bring me down man 🤣

      • Jb online order is easy to cancel.

      • +1

Mate, trust me, for this price, you won't be disappointed, no matter how "inferior" they might be to the original QC45.

    • +1

I think still got stock man.
No need to write a cool story.
      Or
Your friend need to feel good. :)

    • +7

You seem to be the only one who says this, FYI. Looked online and the only other difference people suggest is possible is that SE have smaller battery life. But even that is only said by a few people.

    • +10

Sounds like placebo. It's been reported even Bose said they are the same with just different case. I can't see them manufacturing an entirely new product with a slight parts update on one line

    • +3

Would be great if you can share another source of information. As mentioned by and according to others, including those who own both, they are practically the same except the case.

    • +3

Perhaps you just got a dud? Your sample size is 1..

    • I'm not so sure this is correct. The "SE" seems to be a pricing differentiator.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/comments/yxs7oq/qc45_vs_se/

    • Calling BS on this

    • I stayed long enough in hi-fi.org to confirm that with difference in battery volume, it created a deep bass and bs.

    • -2

Whoever don't believe me, try your luck. I bought from Bose directly so I could still return for refund after I used it under their 90-day risk-free trial. But I don't think you can get a refund from jbhifi if you tried it on and didnt like. Good luck. Waiting for your reviews.

      • +1

Going off what I have read, it may just be that you got a faulty pair, as most people seem to find them extremely similar.

  • +3

Thanks for sharing, paid $147.6 after applied JB Perks Member 10% coupon. Paid with JB HIFI gift cards another 10% off.

    • Bought with bupa gift cards, extra 4.5% off.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought a pair using Teen gift cards that I bought last week. This gave me extra $15 from Woolies.

    • +2

But are you even a teen?

      • +2

Aaaaand the cops should be knocking on your door any minute now…

  • Amazing, also got 15% off with ultimate gift cards so ~$125

  • Cost me $147.60 including perks code with click and collect option.

  • How would they compare to these Anker Soundcore Space Q45 which I just bought. Worth getting?

    • +7

Life's too short to not go with a brand like Bose for this price I'd say!

      • +1

Well I purchased them and will be picking them up this arvo. Thanks for convincing me :)

    • +4

Anker is the best option when you're not buying a $300+ Bose item.

But this is a Bose item at Anker prices. It's crazy.

  • These any better than the 700's ??

    • +2

I much prefer the QC35ii to the 700s personally - for comfort/usability, no real comment on sound quality/ANC quality. I'd rather get the QC45 than 700 for the same reason - I prefer the form fact of these.

      • Ok cheers, mine disconnects heaps on B.T to my C1 oled and im like less than 3m plus the cups are degrading

    • +1

      Very similar: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/bose-700-hea…
One noticeable concern is the noise handling on the QC45, it's pretty bad.

The Bose QuietComfort 45 have disappointing noise handling. The mic struggles to separate your voice from moderate ambient noise, so your voice will be drowned out if you're taking a call from somewhere like a busy street.

  • Annoyingly, this deducted $164 from my gift card even though I applied the perks code!

    • I would jump on chat and get them to rectify this, that's not cool!

      • Worked, they gave me a gift card for the 10% difference.

  • +1

Anyone had power switch issue woth QC35? Switch it off but it stays on so ends up flat.

    • I get the opposite where sometimes it'll turn straight off when turning it on.
      Easy to work around tho.

    • Not sure if this is still active, but I was able to return my QC35 to get QC45 as the replacement via following this post - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/789228

      • +1

Bose ran that for a long time and stopped it soon after that "deal" hit the front page.

        • The page offers QC45 at $349 discount.

          I'll try the chat tomorrow

  • +1

This could be the greatest deal of all time..

    • +1

Nah, the mid night Bose deal was better :-)

  • +1

Thanks OP. Stacked up with another 5 percent off on Kansha Corporate discounts and bought it for 140 Dollars. Sweet deal.

    • How does one get access to Kansha corporate discounts?

  • Keep getting - Your cart has changed .

    • I had that when I tried to apply the code, but it let me do it once I re-added the item to cart. did you try a different browser? good luck!

    • +1

Just tried, and got that error too but it worked once I changed my C&C store (I didn't buy it though, self-control!)

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • +7

Thanks OP. Bought one. (Always wanted to say this)

  • Anybody have recent experience swapping a TCN gift card to JB Hi-Fi voucher/gift card? I've swapped an Ultimate gift card and a TCN gift card just now. The Ultimate gift card is instant (link available on screen and email received immediately), the TCN gift card is 10 minutes and counting, no email received yet.

    • I tried and it took over 2hrs for the them to come through.. never getting these TCN gift cards again

      • Agreed. Took me over 2 hours and I had to email TCN because I didn’t get the other two emails. Provided proof of purchase then they finally sent it to me .

        • Mine also came through after about 2 hours. I tried contacting support last night after hours and in the auto reply it says swaps can take up to 24 hours. So maybe 2 hours or so is standard. Definitely not as good a system as Ultimate gift cards, shall stock up only on Ultimate cards in future.

  • Ridiculously good deal.
How does it differ from the new "Quietcomforts" with no numbers but colours like green etc?

    Anyways, I still ordered 2.
Giftable for Christmas, when prices are back up to normal.

  • Is it just me or is C&C only showing NSW stores despite my best efforts to use a QLD postcode?

    • +1

      No stock within 200km - that’s why 😁

  • +1

Damn .. Still in stock.. Ok.. Got one.. Thanks OP!

  • Ordered 2 plus travels adaptors for a trip overseas next week. Claiming TRS brings it down even further :D

  • Couldn't resist. Not needed but bought

  • +1

Got two. $145 each delivered! Thanks OP!

  • 4 of these or the Dyson's?

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Joined perks, and now awaiting the 10% off email. Cheers

  • +2

Nooooo… I bought the QC SC from Myer for 298 just last week! And I thought that was good price!
Pretty sure the QC SC isnt TWICE as good so sorry Myer, will return straight away.

    Bought, thanks OP.

    • +1

It does have some advantages over this such as the battery life and noise handling but I'm not sure that's worth double the price.

      • Looks ratings.com test says this mic is sh!t with noise control…heck, still not worth the 150 more. Anyone knows if there are good "noise cancellation microphone" for less than 150?

  • +4

    Do I need this? No!
….Just received an email “Order Confirmed” 🙀😹😹

  • +1

FYI, sign up to perks here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/perks
