    • Ozito pretty much only goes on discount when Bunnings tries to price match someone (Aldi).

    • Ryobi are a better quality. Ozito will still do the job fine 95% of the time, but it’s just a different level of quality. Like Aldi vs Coles/Woolies.

    • Yes, on the basis of price and performance and support Ozito can't be beaten for home use.

  • +1

For those with other 18 volt brands like makita you can get adapters to use Makita (and other) 18 volt batteries on Ozito tools.

Also if looking for Ozito accessories and parts Ozito is sold as Einhell in most of the world

    https://www.einhell.de/en/tools/power-tools/

  • +2

looking at the difference between the ozito and ferrex brushless reciprocating saws - the ozito has a "180° rotating handle" which the ferrex does not - i dont know how useful this feature would be

the ferrex has "Pendulum cutting action" which you can turn on and off - i looks like the ozito does not - happy to be corrected on this as ive never used the ozito

i have the ferrex and it has been terrific - most recently used it to cut thru 120mm roots while half still in the ground when removing a tree stump

  • I have just bought the normal version, still unopened. Is it worth the hack of exchanging it for the brushless?

    • 100% worth it — but the issue is going to be finding stock. From all the comments above, it doesn't sound like there's many left around.

Some more context: the brushed model is normally $64 (according to Price Hipster). The brushless is normally $169 (according to OP - I can't seem to find it on Price Hipster) .

  • Ordered got cancelled for the Reciprocating saw

  • Anyone else need to make a 4 hour return trip to the closest Bunnings with stock?

  • +1

Cancelled on the saw. There’s a shame… ordered as soon as this deal was posted, had subscribed to all ozito tools. Hoping for a restock, but only offered a refund

    • +2

I too argued, I could wait but they are budgiing. I ordered immediately after the deal posted and was showing decent stock.

looks like employees liked the deal and cleaned everything available.

  • Is there an Aldi to Ozito or vice versa battery adapter? I currently have Aldi gear and batteries and wondering if I should try some Ozito stuff when its on special like this.

  • +1

No saw got a refund bugger !!

  • Any Bunnings insiders know if more stock of the saw is coming in? Do Bunnings offer rain checks lol

    • Most likely not, Ozito does this weird thing where a lot of product lines are market as promotional stock.

I remember this being the case for the bigger blower and the small chainsaw with extra batteries.

They make 1 run of them, and then move on to the next, probably for sketchy warranty reasons.

I'm pretty sure the same is true of the steel base battery mower I have.

      • These are not promotional stock, just regular lines.

  • +2

with all the cancellations and refunds, just checking why not Aldi one itself?
    Aldi can't be that bad.

    • +1

      Warranty

      • +1

apart from that any other quality issues?

for $50 bucks…I don't mind returns. and aldi have 5vyear returns in these ones.

        • +3

see my comment on previous page - the aldi one is great - has pendulum action which you can turn on and off - if it breaks within 5 years get money back and buy something else

        • +2

I bought one 2 years ago, it lasted 5 minutes and the replacement only lasted 2 strokes. The refund was easy, just a waste of time and fuel going back and forth.

    • +4

Problem with aldi is you can't just walk in and get a swap over. Other than that it will be fine

  • +1

Wondering why the recip saw is so popular and so quickly being sold out in the whole sydney metro area.

I do hope that people who got time will put it into good use.

    • You are wondering why a product that's ~ 75% off is popular?

      • There are still multi-tools available…

        • +1

Who knows what a multi-tool is used for. Whereas everyone knows saw goes brrrr and wood goes cutttt

  • -1

Can I return a used brushed multi tool somehow and get the brushless?the brushed vibrates like a mofo.

    • -1

if you can find stock. it's sold out everywhere.

      • Found stock, but will they refund the other one as it’s used?

        • I think so. some stores show they have stock but won't deliver. will be cancelled eventually.

      • The other one has been used, going to try my luck with a it works intermittently and try ne swap

        • +2

That was easy. They didn’t even check the used one, so brushless one and 20 refund. Perfect

          • @Krusty9000: Yeah I don't think they are allowed to actually check it, for health and safety reasons. Certainly for 240V stuff they aren't.

            • @stumo: Yeah even if they could, the guy who served me, couldn’t have been less interested lol.

  • I struggled with out of stock but kept pressing the Widen Search and eventually got OnePass free delivery from Mornington! Might work for others.

    • Check your order and see what store it shows.

My local store does not have stocks and I found stocks available at other stores and I ordered for delivery via Onepass. It somehow defaulted to my local store which does not have stock.

      • Yup

      • mine did the same, doesnt matter if stock is available somewhere else, it selects the store closest for delivery.

  • my local didn't have recipe saw in stock on the shelves, but a staff member asked if i was looking for anything and mentioned they had stock storage up on top of the shelves.
Got on the little lift gabbed one down and even asked if i wanted the multi tool while he was up there.

    • Which store?

      • set your store to Port Melb

        • +1

I did, they called to tell me it was cancelled

  • Does anyone know how you get ferrex battery replacements? Are they available readily at aldi stores or online?

  • hi All, just managed to order one via the Bunnings chat team, gave them the item and my post code and they said the nearest was port melbourne, so i set my store as port Melb and ordered via onepass delivery.

Good luck , hopefully it gets dispatched.

  • +1

    What does "skin only" mean?
Does that mean you get the full tool but without the battery pack? Or does it mean something else?

    • +2

Just the tool without any battery or charger

  • +3

My local store have put in a special order/transfer for me -
could be worth trying for those of you with stock issues

    • +3

Yeah same. Previously ordered through special orders desk when out of stock. Paid sale price and they will notify when the new stock is ready for pick up.

  • Reciprocating saw got cancelled - was offered the $64 unit for $44 delivered so took it

  • Damn just picked mine up and this thing really has some balls. I'm super impressed

  • Impressed with their delivery speed. Ordered the Reciprocating Saw yesterday at 3.30pm, was delivered at 12noon today.

  • Picked up the multi tool this morning, click and collect from Ballarat (closest to me). Great deal.

    • Hey mate, what accessories do you use with it?

The listing is for tool only so not sure what will fit on it

      • +1

It comes with a selection of attachments. The Tool Only bit of the listing just means it doesn’t come with a battery and charger

        • +1

Ahh thanks for the clarification mate! appreciated :)

  • not sure how people are requesting/forcing bunnings deliver from a particular store? I set my store to somewhere regional with stock, placed an order, but got a message from my local store that they couldnt fulfil the order and cancelled it. ????

    • Same. Tried 4-5 times and all defaulted to a local store that does not have any stock.

  • I had my online order for both the saw and the multi tool cancelled due to a lack of stock, saw that https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/ listed the multi tool in stock at the Oakleigh store and managed to grab one.

They had 2 more of the brushless multi tools at the Oakleigh store available as of 2 PM but their online system says no stock so YMMV if calling in.

    No brushless reciprocating saws though.

  • +3

What's the point of an online ordering system if they can't order in stock from other stores?

I tried to trick the system into ordering from Gympie for me, but it just transferred the order to Cannon Hill.

    • Agreed

    • I raised same concern. whats the point if they keep cancelling click and collect as well as delivery.

they could always deliver from other stores/ states.

and this is very generic all time available brand…they should not have cancelled.

  • My order from like 0900 this morning was cancelled within 10 minutes via an SMS from the store saying no stock and I would be refunded. Like many others on here.

Has anyone actually received their refund though? I paid through PayPal and don't have a refund as yet.

    • Got an SMS minute ago with a "receipt" in it which was a refund. And a refund via PayPal is now sitting in my account.

    • they said will take a few days

  • +1

Called my local asking if I could do special order for the current price and got told no unfortunately. Anyone aware of any stores around Melbourne who might be friendly to that? Woman I spoke to seemed to have no idea that you could even order things online… useless lmao

Edit: called head office and no bueno for being put on a list for back order. Lady did tell me to just keep an eye out for restock. Looks like the move is waiting on that, hoping the price is still good, and if not, might try calling head office again to see if they can match the price on my refunded order

  • Just got my delivered. Ordered with OnePass around 3:30pm yesterday. That is a quick delivery.

  • Confirmed mine is in the post!

  • Thanks boss got a multi tool for 44 delivered was looking for one few days back

  • My recip saw just got delivered at 8:30pm, came from a non-local store.
Didn't get any dispatch email or anything since ordering 1pm yesterday so I thought it would be cancelled.

  • I have not been able to kill my one of these as hard as I try! Brilliant for $45

  • Anyone get a second saw they don’t want in Melbourne they’re looking to sell? 😂

3 attempts in last 2 days at click and collects - all cancelled . Hopefully the refunds get processed for all 3 in a reasonable time….

  • -5

They'll sell you the skins for a fair price but then gouge you for batteries that are too weak structurally to withstand casual household use.

    • Ozito batteries are great value compared to the alternatives.

What structural issues have you had?

    • That's not true. You just need to get the drift capacity for the job. They may not be AEG, Milwaukee, etc class, but they are more than capable for household jobs.

The batteries come with long warranty, and also go on sale quite often.

    • I have 6 batteries, none have failed.

  • Waiting to see if my order gets cancelled or turns up🤷🏻‍♂️

    • was it ' Ready for delivery ' status?

I have this status, not sure what does this mean.

      • Not sure , got an invoice in the email. So I guess it’s coming.

  • +1

I just managed to jag a recip saw at Erina. The website said none were in stock but I found one on the shelf.

  • Both online orders cancelled this morning. These were placed for delivery at a store that had them but got defaulted to a local one without stocks. Stupid system whoever designed it.

  • They sent me the saw this afternoon but accidentally (or not) sent me the non brushless version, invoice says brushless model number.

best to wait for stock and change it back to brushless?

    • +1

Yeah I'd definitely wait till they stop price matching and you can confirm they have stock.

Also when I've been sent the wrong item by mistake, I emailed them and they sent out the correct item, and took back the incorrect one with the same courier. So you shouldn't have to go to the store.

  • I just received invoice for mine, so I guess it’s on its way. Hopefully they send the right one.

  • Saw got cancelled. Not sure why. They were in plenty of stock when I ordered.

    Received multi tool.

  • OOS - Ozito PXC 18V Brushless Reciprocating Saw PXBRSS-018 - Skin Only, Then go for Aldi one any bad of the Ferrex ?

    • nothing is particularly bad. just if the saw is broken in future, Aidi cannot swap a new one for you. But Aldi can certainly refund you as long as you keep the receipt.

  • +1

I purchased the chainsaw, recip, multi tool and grinder and collected them when the first was first listed. I’ve been busy with work and haven’t had a chance to open any of them, hopefully they aren’t missing accessories because it looks like my local Bunnings is all cleared out. Incredible prices.

  • Got mine yesterday, box was previously opened and saw has been used. Blade packet was opened too but looks unused.

Not sure if i should keep or return, who knows how much use it's had.

    • +2

I’d keep it, you have 5 years to return/replace it if it doesn’t work.
If you’re dead set on a brand new unit, just wait until the sale’s over and shelves are restocked then bring it in to CS to swap it over.

      • Didn't know about the 5 years, thanks I'll keep it then

Hopefully I actually use it within that timeframe.

  • +1

I got the cancel email on Thu and at night I replied to the email that I can wait until you pull in more products from your supplier.

Nothing is heard back but suddenly I got an sms from bunnings that a special desk order is processed for me.

I am so happy with it.

  • Used the multi-tool to remove grout today, just making do with the included abrasive disc. Impressed with how well it worked and how solid and powerful it felt. Recommended.

  • +2

Still worth checking your local Bunnings, I found three of the reciprocal saws sitting on the shelf at Thomastown Bunnings and I also picked up the multi-tool. I thought I had missed the boat on this deal!

  • +1

Ordered them both on the day it came out and got knocked back on the saw. Just happened to be in Bunnings today and was surprised to see a saw just sitting on the shelf. I checked the website before paying for it and it said no stock - so I add to some comments above and say it’s maybe worth having a gander next time you’re in.

    • $150m powerball is clearly yours this week

  • Received my saw this afternoon. Just ordered it from a non local store sat. Worked well. Bargain. Hopefully find a use for it. lol
