Detroit 2000W Heat Gun $19.95 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ $99 Order) @ Total Tools

250

Popular heat gun due to cheap price when on special.

Ozitio one from Bunnings normally comes on special at the same time and is preferred as it has a dial to adjust the heat level. Ozito is not currently on special though - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-2000w-variable-temperature…

Apologies, I'm a total tool when it comes to tools. I have a project in which I need to shrink wrap a bunch of rectangular-shaped plastic momentos. Is this what I need? Or will it be an overkill and melt the plastic?

    Edit: Pun not intended

  • I got one of these last time they were this price, an absolute steal. I use mine for heaps of stuff, and while the adjustability is pretty course, it works well enough. Especially for $20 with all the accessories.

  • I'm guessing this would be good for getting charcoal/heat beads going quicker for cooking?

    • Anything that blows air would be better for that. The more oxygen the better.

      • Yeah that makes sense.

Clive Palmer doesn’t fit in my shed

        • Not sure he’d have much oxygen to spare

    • Heat gun is perfect for lighting the BBQ. Probably the quickest, easiest and cleanest way if 240v power is available.

    • Yeah but not as effective as a chimney. It’s blowing hot air so of course it’s gonna help.

  • Missed opportunity to call it the Perth heat gun

  • Asking for science, can I use this to sear food ?

  • How long is the cord?

    • About 1m. Just plug it into an extension lead.

Waiting for Bunnings to price match this now

    • Shake a leg Bunnings

    • Seems they're not going to
