Personally would buy from anyone than the Good Guys but that is probably just me lol
    Just get a price match

    • Well. I bought a 43" TCL QLED TV from Good Guys a few months ago without any hassle. Of course i went straight into store, bought and picked it up on the spot instead of buying online. But you should be able to get this deal in store with their own price beat price.

      • -1

Would pay more not to shop there personally

        • +3

          Personally, i prefer good guys.
You probably had 1-2 delays and think you're doing 'community service' warning others to not shop there.

    • For any particular reason?

      • +1

No major issue. Just difficult to deal with and their delivery providers are always late. Only company would pay more not to use lol

        • +9

Personally I have never had an issue with TGG, returns processed asap when taken back, face to face discounts have been amazing, yeah sometimes the customer service behind the counter lacks a smile, but I’m not buying that!

          • -1

@BatmanAU: Fair enough have found with GG my time is more valuable than money.

            • @fatty99: I'm curious to know where you would shop instead.

              • -1

@Ryballs: Would price match with appliance online for this as they are nice to deal with and delevery times are real not waiting around all day like GG in my experience

        • +7

I'm pretty sure making statements about "paying more" on ozbargain is an instant life ban, no matter how bad the service is from the cheapest option.

          • +2

@sutiive: Nope. I would never shop at HN or Kogan, regardless if they were cheaper. In fact I would argue the same principle applies to yours if you shopped at them.

          • @sutiive: No time sometimes is more valuable than money.

    • only ever had the best service with TGG. way back when bought a samsung tv and had dust in screen. manager replaced on the spot. then had a DOA unit. quick replacement. but ymmv

    • Keep an eye on ebay-> https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p233452…

      May be $1.2K 65" C845 with FREE-metro delivery ?

Don't buy from 'Factory Direct Au', likely that ebay allowed him to remove negative-feedback & the ones that are there are horror-stories-> https://www.ebay.com.au/fdbk/feedback_profile/factorydirect-…

  • can you fit this 65" into a SUV ?

    • The specs here claims a box dimension. 164.5cm x 99.5cm x 17.5cm.

So if you can fit a box with those dimensions in the SUV then all is good.

It's under Dimensions, weight and color.

    • +1

Dont think so, boxes are pretty big
Try your local TGG for free delivery

    • Should get deleved so if issues when opened can't be blamed for damage not just good guys

      • -2

Don't by default the delivery driver just drop the TV off and just leave and for you to open the box. They don't open the box unless you pay extra for installation. Otherwise it's just a deliver the boxed TV to your door service and that's it.

        • If you open and issues can blame them. If took yourself might be on you few threads on whirlpool iirc (don't think good guys)

          • -2

@fatty99: Well by default they don't unpack the TV out of the box during delivery. They just hand you over the sealed boxed TV and head straight off. You have to open the box yourself and the delivery driver isn't going to wait around for that. So there's no way to prove if the TV is damaged or not during the delivery. You've got to pay extra for a TV installation service.

Table top TV installation is from $99 from TGG. You have to pay that as an added service when ordering the delivery. That's where they check the TV for any faults during the installation.

            https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/home-services/tv-installation

            • @hollykryten: If you open the box and the TV is damaged TGG will claim you broke it when you put it in the back of your Ford Focus (or whatever car).

If you get delivery and claim it was damaged during delivery, then it's on their couriers.

              • -5

@BargainEnjoyer2022: But what's stopping them claiming that you broke the TV after it was delivered. For example they claim that it must have fell off the table top and broke the screen. I don't think warranty covers that.

            • +3

@hollykryten: It is more if you open and damaged picked up your fault will have to fight. Deleved not your fault as you didn't put in car/Ute ect.

Edit Each to their own wouldn't have room for a 65 inch in my vehicle anyway

              • @fatty99: I'm pretty sure that would be against consumer guarantee law for the store to deny warranty. Unless they can absolutely prove that you damaged the goods yourself during transportation. There's no way they could do that unless there is a huge gash straight through the TV box right where the screen damage is. But these TVs are packed in the box so it shouldn't easily be damaged. But i get your point.

They can try but it would still be a violation of consumer guarantee law.

                • @hollykryten: Still have to go through the effort though

                • @hollykryten: A big gash in the box should be denied at pick it up from the store.

                  • @ATangk: Yes. But that gash and damage may later happen during transportation to your home after you've collected it from the store. On say the back of a ute or some other vehicle. All it may take is some heavy item to impact the box.

    • Yes?

    • Planning on mounting it on the inside of the hatch, so you can keep up to date through the rear view mirror?
Though that would give you a reversed image.
I wonder if you can get rear view mirrors that double reverse the image…

    • Yes for me. I used my car to deliver Samsung 65" and TCL c845 65" tv to my friend's house. My car is Mitshubitshi ASX 2018 model.

    • +1

Thought it was safer to transport large TVs upright to avoid and minimise breaking the panel while lying it flat.

FYI the 2024 are making their way into stores now. There is the C855, C755 and C655.

    • +1

Definitely happy to wait another year if the C855 is as much of an improvement as the on paper specs suggest. Keen to see some reviews and figures soon

      • Also keen to see how the C855 performs. Specs look great. Hope they come down to decent prices like the C845. Do you know what price the 845 started at for comparison?

This appears to be unavailable in Queensland :(

    • Yep, no stock near FNQ

    • Showing stock at Coffs Harbour and Tamworth. That's all i can see for south QLD. Stock seems non existent for Central and North QLD.

      • For south of Qld. Thanks though.

        • Damn. I just realised both are in North NSW. Why the heck did the stock checker show stock for NSW when i entered Brisbane to the search. Sorry

    • None in WA either :(

  • +3

Unlikely to go much lower than this.

Running out of stock everywhere and TGG were price beating Bing Lee with a price of $1376 but sold out, so not usually a valid price match price anywhere.

C855 seems a great upgrade from C845, but surely not worth double the price at around $2800.

  • -2

Terrible deal considering you could get the 75-inch model for just a $100 more from Good Guys less than a month ago.

    • +1

That was $220 more. They at the time wanted $1586 for it TCL 75" C845 TV. Currently priced at $2295 at TGG.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/838794

Perhaps you were mistaken for another more cheaper model?. You weren't going to get the 75" C845 for only $100 more than this.

      • Nope, it was on the 29th of March from GoodGuys and the deal was posted here for $1436 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/838688 so actually less than a $100 more than this deal. Plenty of people got one but unfortunately my one was cancelled due to no stock. As I said before this isn't a great deal when GoodGuys had the 75-inch model for less than $100 just five weeks ago.

        • +2

I don't know why you kept saying The Good Guys. Because that says Bing Lee, not Good Guys. It was a Bing Lee deal which had nothing to do with The Good Guys. No wonder i couldn't find it.

I guess might not see that price again any time soon. It's normally around $2300 (well going by the current TGG price). Bing Lee no longer stocks it so it must have been a clearance flash deal.

        • +1

Not a great deal? despite the fact that Bing Lee probably only had like 5-10 of those TV's in stock. Yeah, the best deal is the one you can actually buy, not a theoretic deal that nobody can get.

        • I to am on the prowl for the 75" C845 didn't pull the trigger on that deal hopefully something close to that value comes up in due time

          • @Jazza2400: As per my research there isnt much stock left of 75inch anywhere for any retailer
and as it’s discontinued model there wont be any fresh coming very soon.

          • @Jazza2400: Discontinued model with very few stock left nation wide at any retailer. No more stock had been manufactured and coming in to stock. There now won't be any better price than this current one. For what i can see that Good Guys is the only retailer with stock. And the only retailer which can deliver it. In other words buy now or you won't ever get this TV model.

            • @hollykryten: copy that, might be one off clearance I'll have to keep an eye out for

              • @Jazza2400: I just did my research too and i can concur. The Good Guys is the only retailer still with any stock of this TV model and even that stock is very patchy. All the other retailers are sold out. And TGG are clearing it out. Unless you buy now you won't ever get this TV once TGG is sold out of stock. And TGG doesn't have much stock left nation wide.

I know that it's currently listed on the JB web site. But it's unavailable for delivery no matter which post code (which means no stock at any store or the warehouse). And their stores don't seem to have it in stock.

Buy now from The Good Guys or face never getting this TV model. That's if it will even allow delivery. It is the very last of the stock. Otherwise too bad sold out and waited too long. Last of the stock nation wide any where is from TGG.

                • +3

@hollykryten: I drove a 520km round trip to buy JBHiFi's second last 65c845 in Queensland yesterday at this price. They had two left in Bundaberg. I was happy to do that rather than wait for the 65c855 to come down from $2,995.

                  • @Thommo: Now that's real commitment to get a great deal. Hope you got a price match.

    • Yes, only I bought one and then Harvey Norman called me to cancel the order because they can't fulfil the order to where I live. Apparently 'australia wide delivery' is only true if the local store has it in stock.

      • Then that would be local delivery if stock could only be delivered from the local store. Australia wide delivery is therefore a lie. It's shenanigans.

  • got this from ebay last month @ powerland ebay, $1358. but paid with 3% GC, and 3% cashback- so less than 1300 in total. very happy with the TV.

    • Is that still available?

      • Don't think so. But their stocks comes and goes. Keep checking.

  • +1

Got a display of 85C845 from Pakenham JB a while back. It's OK.

Finger crossed that you're getting the model with Pentonic 700 chipset instead of the older one. Noticable difference in decoding capabilities (not an issue if only streaming, will be an issue if you've got better sources).

    • Anyway to check?

      • +1

Check firmware version. T653 is newer chipset, T615 is the older one. The build version in Android system information.

        • Mine is , thanks

    • How much was the price of the JB display unit?

      • Tagged $2.4k (remember the JB sales mid-April?) and quoted $2k for 85C845 delivered. As I said, MT9615 chip (T615). Generally good condition. Others on OzB pointed out that if you buy new, it's likely with Pentonic 700.

Though the total was ~$2.2k including wall mount, installation and delivery. TV itself was $1.8k on the receipt though, probably to absorb other costs.

        • Ah, I got a brand new in box unit on Facebook marketplace for $350 I think (a year ago so bit foggy). Builder went bust and the homeowner had to reduce inventory for his supposed to be new home. I was extremely lucky I guess.

          The TV is awesome!

  • limited availability. Can't be delivered to Brisbane. Closest pickup is over 300km away.

    • Shouldn't be surprised as C855 is already generally available.

  • This or the Sharp Aquos 70in deal?

  • No Perth stores with stock and can't be delivered. Bummer.

  • Is this mini led better than Sony x90l

    • +1

I got the 835 model (2022) and I'm very happy with it! Darker blacks and brighter whites.

  • Was 65" C855 on the shelf at my local JB last sat
    Nice looking thing

  • Thanks OP. Just purchased one TCL 65C845 $1366 from TGG Auburn this afternoon after seeing this post.
The staff said there was another sold yesterday, stock running fast.

  • where is that "PRICE BEAT" button mentioned by OP?
there's only a link for calling the store on the product page!

    • The button "Price Check: Pay Less with PRICE BEAT" is located just above "ADD TO CART" green button.

It is gone, TGG must remove the deal.

  • How to get the price matching?
    Who's selling it for cheaper?
