typo in the 4060 description, $8088

  • +1

    $8088! Gold plated 4060?

  • -8

i5-12400F RTX 4060 - Description has $808, link has $8088 Actual site has $1088. Well done

    • +8

All resolved. Website price will still read $1008 because it needs the coupon code applied. But yeah, not the best effort fingers wise.

    • +2

And surely you gonna buy one after the fix, right ?

      • He may not, but Lukes post almost always needs fixing.

        • +8

          D'oh.

  • Which PSU size does this case take? Is it ATX?
Would the 4080 from your previous deals fit this case?

I know they're odd questions, but I bought your December 4080 build, and want to get a second PC, but would like to swap the 4080 into this case if possible!

    • The 4070 Super PSU is ATX yes, but the case fits a 2 slot card max.

      • I can work with that, thanks!

        • 4080 won't fit in the 2 slot space

          • @Gronkmaster69: Noted. I'm trying to figure out what route to take now with this setup. Thanks :)

  • completely n00b question, but what's so great about an ITX case? Is it just the extra space it provides?

    • +6

Smaller space requirements for your desk. Maybe more aesthetic if you like small things. Main downside is it's generally more expensive to build, and being mindful about the dimensions of things (particularly, graphics cards, motherboards, coolers, fans and PSUs) you're purchasing. Which isn't going to be a concern with this deal since you're purchasing it built.

    • +4

Worth noting also limitations with things like ram clearance below cpu cooler block, limited number of ram slots or pcie slots for things like expansion cards if you ever needed one. If you built one yourself, extra care required working in small case needs extra planning and good cable management. Smaller mobo may have less features like a single m.2 slot

  • Does this MB offer any wifi expansion option other than USB? (Not a disaster if not, but wondering if it has an M.2 wifi slot)

    • +1

The H610 has a little PCIe slot. Here's the link https://www.maxsun.com/products/ms-challenger-h610itx-2-5g

    • Yes you can install a ax200/210 card.

The build comes with antennae and housing case

      • Brilliant. Thanks!

      • I'm assuming the PCIe x4 is being used for the boot drive. So are you referring to sticking the AX200/210 into the CNVi slot?
Can you confirm that it works and its a vertical M.2 that supports both PCIe and CNVi rather than only CNVi.

(is only CNVi even a thing, that's just what seems to be suggested by how they labelled it on their website)

If it is only CNVi compatible then from what I've gathered,

Any wifi / BT card that lists CNVio2 as the 'System Interface Type' should be compatible with the CNVi slot.
Examples (scroll down and find 'System Interface Type'):

Wifi 5 CNVi cards like the AC9460 or AC9560 are not compatible as they only support CNVio and not CNVio2 (and CNVio2 is not backwards compatible).
And PCIe interface cards like the AX200 and AX210 are also not compatible as they don't support CNVi in general.

AX210 and AX211 comparison as an example
(again, scroll down and find 'System Interface Type')

Of course, none of this relevant if it is just a vertical m.2 slot that supports both PCIe and CNVi. (like in this mobo that specifies: 'M.2 slot only (Key E, CNVi & PCIe)')

        • Do you know if the new wifi 7 cards work?

          • @elcheapoinoz: I think the BE200 should with these setups, but I'm not certain at all.

          • +1

@elcheapoinoz: I just copped an AX211 from aliexpress and it works. So I assume the new wifi 7 cards should work as well…

Also I don't recommend using the included housing. You'd have to take apart half the PC in order to get it on the mobo. I reckon just slot the card straight in and connect some new IPEX / MHF4 to SMA antenna cables. A bunch of wifi card listings on AliExpress are also available bundled with these cables.

If you want to save 2 bucks, you can do what I did and free up the antenna cables from the included housing. The hex-nuts are soldered but a wrench gets them loosened easy.

And then just install with some washers to secure the antennas in place. But it's fiddly and the wires aren't the strongest. I ended snapping one of them at the SMA side… Taped it up and it still works but I'll probably replace it soon.

            • +1

@OzBurgain: @OzBurgain You're a legend, thanks for this info. I will probably buy in a couple days time.

Could you double check I've got the right ideas here? Both ax201, would prefer 1 over 2.

              1. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005922714203.html - A handy all-in-one box. Would the antennas fit out the back IO shield?
              2. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005664373716.html - Card only, plus some antenna cables, to be used with the antennas this PC will come with:
                2a. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/10000322553445.html

And then just install with some washers to secure the antennas in place.

Do you mean washers on the larger (SMA) side of the antenna cables? Or on the smaller (MHF4) side? If MHF4, are washers required or could perhaps even electrical tape work?

              • @ekswhyzed: So your first link is the ax201, the second link is the ax211. The ax211 is newer and has wifi 6E. That second link is also exactly what I bought, same store and everything.

                2. (Color: Maroon)
                OR
                2. (Color: Khaki) + two 2a's is probably what I would go for. Info below:

In 1. the problem with the all in one box is screwing it down to the mobo. You'd have to take apart a lot of the build and move the motherboard to even access the screw holes that secure the box.

Its way easier just ditching the box and using the card + antenna cables.

In 2. options 2 or 3 should both work.
Option 2 (Color: Orange) with the built in antenna cables might not be as good as proper screw in SMA antennas. But maybe SMA antennas are just placebo, who knows.
Option 3 (Color: Maroon) looks good but you'll just need to unscrew the SMA side from the included metal bracket.

Doing that would effectively be the same as getting card only in 2. + two 2a.'s
30cm seems long as hell, but you can't see the cables on that side of the build anyways. It probably also just makes it easier to install.

For washers, I meant on the larger SMA side. If you look at the back of the ITX case there's two metal circles that you snap off for the SMA to go through. Those holes are larger than the SMA's (and the gold washers they come with) so if you just screw in the antennas on the outside, they won't be secure. You need some larger washers or really anything to block the SMA on the inside of the case to stop them from sliding through freely. You can test this with the included antenna cables that came with the build.

The MHF4 connectors take a little pressure but they will snap onto the card.
I think I just squeezed my fingers but this dude uses the tip of his screwdriver to help press them down.

And if you want a newer wifi 7 card like the be200, its essentially the same thing as any info above, provided that its all compatible, I know nothing about these cards. (be200 and ax211 seem to be at least physically the same)

But I'm glad to help, hopefully it all goes well.

                • @OzBurgain: Thanks for all this information. Would you happen to have a good link for some washers to buy? I’m going to follow your advice and order the card and cables from AliExpress.

        • @luketechfast Are you able to chime in on this? Namely this part:

Can you confirm that it works and its a vertical M.2 that supports both PCIe and CNVi rather than only CNVi.

          • +1

@ekswhyzed: Hey man, I ended up going with an AX211 card from AliExpress and that works. I have some details about how I went about installing it just above.

  • +1

Honest question because I'm getting a little lost in the prices and specs and whatnot:

If AMD is normally better bang for buck, what makes this 1488 Nvidia build here a better performer/value than the 1488 AMD build?

    • ITX

      • Right, so this is smaller and therefore would be more expensive, but otherwise… Does the the AMD perform better?

  • +4

    How loud do these get?

    • I don't think they're very loud. The ventilated panels do open straight out to the air so that's a consideration/trade off but it doesn't scream or anything. Plenty of people have bought and may be able to share their opinions.

  • Hey Luke! Looking at putting together a homelab server + nas (with a decent amount of mix of SSD and hdd in the same case. So need slots and I/o but would appreciate the smaller footprints still)

Which one of these do you think would be most suitable for that? I don’t mind the headroom from all the components like gpu (to prevent people competing “this is overkill”

Also fantastic deals recently! I have 3070 set up from ages ago and even I am tempted to upgrade and use my 3070 set up as a home lab piece lol)

    • Mate for the NAS highly recommend a ASUSTOR AS5404T NAS which has an array of 4x NVMe and 4xHDD great bang for buck. Runs very quiet and 4k Plex is a breeze..

      • Moite as is, Asustor you mentioned costs more than this thing which is an absolute overkill as a server. (Assuming it has the I/O for it. Which is what I was asking) Asustor is essentially a just a nas with a raspberry pi, isn’t it?

      • Mate I came back here to curse at you…

I have spent countless hours online researching and $1000+ for now on the ASUSTOR AS5404T set-up.

About to buy another +$800 worth of drives now…

You made me spent so much money… (but thank you as this was a good suggestion! I am happy with my ASUSTOR so far too!)

  • Hey there, this looks pretty nice ! any chance to get a 4070 super Ti or 4080 super in there ?
also 64 GB of RAM ?
    thanks !

    • 2 slots card compatibility at max rule those out

  • Hey Luke, I just purchased last night the ITX offering with the i3, am I able to get it bumped up to the i5? I was wanting the i5 originally but it was not the an option. In hind sight if I knew this would be posted today I'd just be purchasing the item now

Hey Luke, could we please get some AMD deals soon? Some mid level builds such as the 7600XT?

      Sure will look into it

  • Hey Luke, there seems to be something wrong with the payment? Not sure whether it's on my end or the platform.

I've tried 2 different debit cards and on both cards, I get this message:

    Payment Failed

We were unable to succesfully process your payment.

Please verify all transaction details or use another method of payment

Issue is there are no other methods of payment. I've sent your team an email too.

    • I think we're trying to resolve this one via email for you.

    • Long shot but I had the same issue and it turned out to be the daily spending limit on my card. Increased it in my bank app and the payment went through no problem.

  • Hey Luke, does the 1TB upgrade for these end up being the ADATA Legend 800 like your other builds?

    • +1

      It would be yeah

  • -4

What's the go with the $1488 pricing? Seems like a weirdly specific number for it to be a coincidence that that happens to be a hate speech number. Hopefully it is in fact just a coincidence rather than this company being run by neo-nazi losers.

    • +5

A cursory glance at their $778, $808, $1048, $1388 and $2048 deals should tell you that you're being a bit of an idiot who may want to think before they type… clearly just a part of their cost calculations

  • +1

So the case is over 30L in volume 39cm (D) x 30cm (H) x 26.5 (W)…are there any smaller Mini ITX upgrade options like the Hyte Revolt 3 or Sugo SG13?

  • +2

I would be more interested if it came with wifi - so i don't have to open the box and install a card in. Or at least have an add-on option.

  • +2

Shrinkflation? I got the same one with dual fan PNY RTX 4060 for $754.90 delivered and re-cased right away! Had to wait for 3 weeks so the advertised 5-10 days is just not going to happen.

    Specs:
    i5-12400F
    16gb XPG RGB DDR4-3200
    MaxSun Challenger H610ITX motherboard
    500gb Crucial NVMe SSD
    PNY RTX 4060
    Allied fake 750w power supply

Here are my thoughts on this PC before you take the plunge.

    Pros:
    - Unbeatable price
    - Booted up first time (into linux)
    - Motherboard had latest bios and XMP was enabled

    Cons:
    - The motherboard is facing the right panel so you can't see the RGB ram sticks. Only the graphics card can be seen through glass panel and nothing else.
    - Can't access 2.5" SSD bays without removing power supply. No instructions provided on how to slide power supply carriage out.
    - Power supply is max 750w max but unable to tell how much continuous power is supplied. Feels light and not 80 plus rated.
    - No case fans so this will be get hot when gaming. You might get away with this case for light browsing and office work but not recommended for gaming.

Would only recommend this for someone who knows how to disassemble and reassemble the PC without taking too much time, can install Windows themselves and is willing to wait several weeks for delivery.

  • vote for an intel i5 ITX with an AMD GPU

  • If I don't need the GPU, any chance that I can sell the GPU to anyone?

  • @luketechfast

    Hi luke,

Ive read the comments and saw build were closer to the 10 day mark and i bought as a gift any chance i can have my order cancelled i msged support.

  • Are we able to ask for Leaper Edge ITX for the 4060 build?

    • Sorry, this isn't an available option

  • Luke any 4070ti super deals coming out around the 1800 mark?

    Quick Question.
The status update emails say I can see the build progress when I log in to the site.
All I can see is Status Order Placed.

Is that really the status or am I missing something.

    • You don't see build progress per se, more like order progress and it's no different to the status updates you receive via text or email.

    • The next status change is In Build which will get triggered when it goes into build.

  • +1

Is the RTX 4060 in stock to fulfill existing orders yet?

  • Hey there @luketechfast,

Great deal. Went ahead and made the purchase on April 19th and status of the order is still "order placed". Can I please get an update on this?

Have sent an enquiry through your contact us page a few days ago and have not seen a response to it (either via mobile or email).

    Cheerio,
    Khanh

    • Hey Khanh, these units are in production this week into next. We're a bit behind just given the volume of 4060 orders coming due at the same across MATX and ITX orders, so we're getting through them as fast as possible. Bear with us please if possible, but if it's well past the estimated delivery date we accept cancellations with no restocking fee if you just can't wait.

      • Hey @luketechfast,

Thanks for the response - and for the update.

Given it's going into production this week/next, could I expect delivery the week after that? Happy to wait at this stage.

        Cheerio,
        Khanh

        • I think you're in SA? If so you could pick it up when complete if you're available, as we're in Beverley. But yes, I would be very disappointed if they weren't all received by the customers in that following week.

          • @luketechfast: Hey @luketechfast I am indeed in SA - and would be very happy to come and pick it up once available. If you/one of your crew are able to let me know when ready - and details of pick-up - I can swing around, saving the hassle of delivery.

            • @Warriorpoet: Great - I've made the adjustment on your order and you'll be notified when it's ready! Shipping fee will be refunded after pickup.

              • @luketechfast: @luketechfast thanks for the response. If you slap on a WIFI adapter, happy to do that in exchange for the shipping fee refund.

              • @luketechfast: @luketechfast it looks like the order has now entered the testing phase. Great news! I'm still getting notifications that the unit will be shipped out, however - could you check in on that and can I get the details for the pick up emailed/SMS'd to me?

  • Just received mine and disappointed to find the the MAXSUN Challenger H610ITX 2.5G has been changed to an ASUS PRIME H610I-PLUS D4, losing 2.5GB ethernet down to standard 1GB (big disappointment as whole home network is running 2.5GB) and power phases down from 8+1+1 to 5+1+1, not to mention the second HDMI now being a VGA port…

EDIT: On the plus side, the ASUS Bios is better / more familiar

    • Doh…
      Thats a massive backward step…

Glad I didn't order another one..

  • What type of sales/pricing can we expect for the 4070s r5 7500f for EOFY?

  • Can we confirm, whether all the ITX are now coming with the Asus H610I-plus D4 rather than the Maxsun Challenger H610ITX 2.5G..?
We going to order another one.. but definitely NOT interested if it has the Asus board…

    • Got mine delivered Monday and can confirm it came with the Asus H610I-plus D4 as well

      • thanks for letting me know..
probably wont bother ordering one now..

        • Yeah, also didn't come with the Adata Legend 800 nvme in the 1tb upgrade (as Luke had said it would), instead the inferior Kingston NV2… honestly a bit disappointed after what felt like confirmations

    • What are the key mobo differences besides the aforementioned Ethernet?

      • +1

The asus board has much poorer VRM and Heatsinks.. unlikely to be able to upgrade to faster CPUs.. without heat issues.

the asus has no external WIFI antennas and cabling or housing.. making it much more difficult to add on the internal wifi card.

Maxsun had both 2.5g and 1g ports (ie two ports) the Asus only a 1gb port.
Maxsun has DP, and 2 HDMI onboard.. if you installed a iGPU, the asus has one HDMI, one DP and one VGA..

The Asus has 1ps2 port and 4 usbs on the back… the Maxsun has five USB ports on the back..

Otherhand being a lesser known brand, the Maxsun board is a step above this particular asus board.. which is in the bottom feeder category..
(plus Asus getting called out, by their dodgy warranty practices doesn't inspire any confidence in this brand anymore).
